Dilemma

Nathan Anrez. Who didn’t know that man? I just found out that Mr. Anrez was the most influential figure in this country. The businessman who was being praised about, and Justin was currently working in his company. Nathan was the successor of his grandfather’s business empire.

I still can’t believe it. I can only stay silent while looking at Nathan’s figure from top to bottom. This wasn’t a dream, right?

“My grandson has agreed to this match, I hope you can consider it, Alexa.” Mr. Anrez emphasized that to me.

I could feel my mother keep on nudging my arm, I was sure that  would immediately accept this arranged marriage easily.

However, what about my feelings?

I just got my heart broken by Justin, and I just got betrayed by the man I loved for years. After my heart was broken, how could I accept a new man in my life?

“Miss, can we talk privately? I think we should get to know each other before you make a decision.”

Nathan seemed to catch the doubts in my heart. With a little push, I went out with Nathan, into one of the other VVIP rooms, where now there were only him and I.

“I’m sure this is quite a surprise for you, isn’t it?” Nathan began to speak.

I nodded stupidly, then I tilted my face because I felt embarrassed.

“Alexandria Kyle, you have been in a relationship with one of the managers in my company named Justin Timble for almost four years. But unfortunately, your love story is not as smooth as you expected. More than that, now you have been fired from the company you have always dreamed of. Is my guess right?”

I immediately looked at Nathan, even he understood my true identity much better than Mr. Anrez. I was sure that before coming here Nathan had already found out about who I was.

“You ….”

“How about we try a game. I mean…a deal.” Nathan was now taking a sip of the wine in front of him, and I was still silent. “Miss Kyle, I know your life is not good right now, especially your feelings. Betrayed by the man you love, especially when that man cheated on you with his ex.”

“That’s none of your business, Young Master Anrez.”

“However, I can help you. You know, I own the company where your ex works, right? Why don’t you take advantage of that?”

“First, can I ask, why are you giving me this tempting offer? What’s in it for you? I’m just an ordinary woman, and I’m sure there are many great women out there who are comparable to you who would want to marry you, Young Master.”

“Good question, and I think I have to be honest with you…” Nathan’s words seemed to hang, then he took a deep breath. “One of the reasons or even the only biggest reason is because this is a recommendation from Grandpa. You’ve saved my grandfather’s life, which means that the entire Anrez family owes you their lives. More than that, my grandfather is seriously ill, and his life will not be long. I don’t want to burden him for the rest of his life, so I want to be devoted to him. So just think of our marriage as a gift for Grandpa. What will happen after Grandpa dies, we’ll discuss it later. As long as you agree, we’ll get married soon, and just think of this as my request. You saved the lives of two people from the Anrez family twice.”

I was still silent and confused about what to say. I saw how Nathan seemed serious about it. But for me it would be strange because how could a marriage be a game?

“Can I think about all this first, sir? Because for me marriage is not a game, and I need time to decide on this matter.”

“Of course, Miss. I will wait for you, even when you want my hand to avenge your heartache to your ex then I will gladly do it for you. We’ll see how he suffers afterwards and you can see with your own two eyes.”

Nathan’s words really made me dizzy, even all night I couldn’t sleep at all.

Today I decided to go to Justin’s apartment, not because I missed him. It’s just that I wanted to take the rest of my things that were left there.

I didn’t want my favorite things that I bought with my own money to be used by that bitch named Lilian.

And when I was in the apartment, sure enough, Lilian was wearing my bear headband. I snatched the headband from her head and she immediately cursed.

“Damn it, why did you still come here, Alexa?” she asked in disbelief.

I just smiled. In the end the mask was revealed by itself about her arrogant attitude. It turned out to be true, acting sweet was her only play when Justin was present.

“Where’s Justin? I want to get my credit card.” I said.

Lilian immediately put her hands on her hips. “Are you drunk? How could Justin has your credit card, Alexa? How much limit do you have?” Lilian mocked me.

I didn’t reply. I took a cardboard box and packed some of my belongings that were left behind until then Lilian showed me her ring.

“Look, yesterday Justin proposed to me, and you know what other good news is? I’m pregnant.”

Both of my hands clenched tightly when I heard that, I really didn’t expect Lilian to be pregnant. While all this time when I discussed about having a baby, Justin always avoided it and didn’t want it at all.

“Oh yeah, congratulations. I’m quite happy that you’re finally pregnant.” I replied, still trying to stay calm.

“We should have gotten married a few months ago, but you were too stupid to be sensitive about anything. About what we did, and our relationship. Are you blind? Even I often send you intimate videos of us together, but you always ignore them.”

So all the videos I received from that unknown number were from Lilian who deliberately exposed her own affair with Justin?

“I hate you, Alexa. But I also pity you, I don’t know how there could be a stupid woman like you. Is Justin the greatest man ever that you don’t want to lose him even though he’s been caught cheating?”

I slapped Lilian’s cheek because I couldn’t stand her anymore, I didn’t know how to teach that mouth that had no rules.

“I know that all this time you still want Justin, you even came back from Berlin to approach Justin, right? And congratulations you have got the Justin you want. I hope after this you will be happy, and stop disturbing my life again.”

“Tch! Do you think I am willing to disturb your life? If you don’t tease Justin then I won’t do it!”

We pushed each other at that time and I accidentally pushed Lilian’s body until she fell, Lilian screamed in pain while holding her stomach then her crotch bled.

I panicked to death trying to help Lilian, but Justin suddenly came. He pulled me and slapped me with all his strength.

“How dare you, Alexa? What did you do to my future baby?!”
