LOGINIvy's POV
Blood. It soaked through my clothes, warm and terrifying, spreading faster than my mind could process. “No… no…” My voice came out in broken whispers as my hands trembled violently, pressing against my stomach like I could somehow hold everything together. The pain hit again. It tore through my lower abdomen, forcing a cry out of me as I doubled over. “My baby… please…” Tears blurred my vision, falling endlessly as panic swallowed me whole. My legs gave way beneath me, and I collapsed onto the floor beside the bed, my body shaking uncontrollably. I couldn’t think, or even breathe properly. All I could feel was fear. Cold, suffocating fear. Another wave of pain crashed into me, worse than the last, and I screamed, my fingers clawing weakly at the floor. “I can’t lose you… I can’t…” The room spun violently, the walls closing in on me as darkness threatened to pull me under. Then a loud knock. “Ivy!” The sound barely registered at first. “Ivy, open the door!” Maria. The name flickered through my fading thoughts. “I… here…” I managed, my voice barely audible. The door burst open. And then she entered. “Oh my God.” Maria’s voice broke as she rushed toward me, her footsteps quick and uneven. “Ivy! What happened?!” “I don’t know…” I cried, my voice shaking uncontrollably. “It just started… it won’t stop…” Her hands gripped my shoulders, steady but urgent. “Okay, okay… don’t panic,” she said quickly, though her own voice trembled. “We need to get you to the hospital. Right now.” “I’m scared…” I whispered, clutching her arm tightly. “Maria, I’m so scared…” Her eyes softened for just a second before determination replaced the fear. “Look at me,” she said firmly. I forced my gaze up. “You’re not losing this baby,” she said, her voice stronger now. “Do you hear me? You’re not.” I nodded weakly, though my body refused to believe it. “Can you stand?” she asked. “I… I don’t know…” “We have to try.” She helped me up carefully, wrapping one arm around my waist and holding me tightly as most of my weight leaned against her. Every step hurts. Every movement felt like something inside me was breaking. “Stay with me, Ivy,” she kept saying. “Don’t close your eyes.” “I’m here…” I whispered, though everything felt distant. We stumbled out of the room, down the hallway, and into the night. The cool air hit my face, but it did nothing to calm the storm inside me. “Ivy, stay awake,” Maria urged, waving frantically for a taxi. A car finally stopped. “Hospital!” she shouted. The driver didn’t ask questions. Thank God. The ride was a blur. My head fell against the seat, my body too weak to hold itself up anymore. “Talk to me,” Maria said urgently, holding my face gently. “Ivy, talk to me.” “My baby…” I whispered, tears slipping down silently now. “Please… I just want my baby…” “You’re going to be fine,” she said, though her voice cracked slightly. “We’re almost there.” Almost. The word felt so far away. Everything moved too fast once we arrived. Different hands, different voices, and different movements. “Pregnant patient… heavy bleeding…” “Get her in… now!” “Vitals! check her vitals…” I was placed on a stretcher, the bright hospital lights blinding as they wheeled me down a hallway. “Ivy!” Maria’s voice followed. “I’m right here!” But I couldn’t focus on her, or focus on anything. Everything felt like it was slipping away. “Please…” I whispered weakly. “Save my baby…” Darkness and silence. It was distant at first. “…bleeding has slowed…” “…she’s lucky…” “…monitor closely…” Lucky? Thank God. When I finally opened my eyes, everything felt heavy. My body, my head, even my breathing. The ceiling above me came into focus slowly. White. I'm in a hospital. Again. A soft pressure wrapped around my hand. “Ivy?” Maria. I turned my head slightly. She sat beside me, her eyes red, her grip tight like she was afraid to let go. “You’re awake,” she said, relief flooding her voice. My lips parted slightly. “My… baby…” Her eyes softened instantly. “You’re still pregnant,” she said quickly. “They were able to stop the bleeding.” For a second, I didn’t react. Then it hit me. A sob broke out of my chest. “Thank God…” I cried, tears spilling freely. “Thank God…” I held my stomach gently, like I needed to feel it, to reassure myself it was real. Still alive. “They said it was close,” Maria continued softly. “You need to be very careful now, Ivy. Very, very careful.” I nodded weakly. “I will…” There was no other option. Silence settled for a moment, broken only by the faint sounds of machines around me. Then Maria spoke again. “You scared me,” she admitted quietly. “I’m sorry…,” I whispered. She let out a small, shaky laugh. “You need help,” she said. “You can’t keep doing this alone.” “I don’t have anyone,” I said softly. Maria squeezed my hand. “You have me.” My chest tightened. “And…?” she added gently. My mind flickered. Zayn. My fingers twitched slightly. “I…” I hesitated. “You what?” Maria asked. I didn’t answer immediately. Instead, my gaze drifted toward the small table beside the bed. My bag sat there. And inside it was his card. “Call me whenever you need anything.” His voice echoed in my mind. I swallowed hard. Should I? He had already done so much. My hand moved slowly, pulling the bag closer. Maria watched silently. I reached inside. My fingers brushed against the card. I paused. My heart started racing. What if he didn’t answer? What if I was bothering him? “Ivy,” Maria said softly. “Call him.” I looked at her. “He said you could, didn’t he?” I nodded slowly. “Then call.” My fingers tightened around the card. Slowly… carefully… I pulled it out. The name stared back at me. Zayn Kane. Even his name felt… powerful. I took a shaky breath and reached for my phone. My hands trembled as I dialed the number. Each ring felt louder than the last. Once… My heart pounded. Twice… I almost hung up. Three… The call connected. And then, his calm deep voice came up. “Hello….”Ivy’s POVI stood in front of the mirror in the room Zayn had given me, staring at myself for a long time without moving. The reflection staring back didn’t feel like me anymore. My face was still the same, but everything else had changed. My eyes looked tired in a different way now.A soft knock interrupted my thoughts.I turned slightly. The door opened, and a maid stepped in quietly.“Good morning, ma’am,” she said politely. “Mr. Kane said you should be ready. The driver is downstairs.”My fingers tightened slightly around the edge of the table.Mr. Kane.“Okay,” I said softly. She nodded and left immediately.I exhaled slowly, turning back to the mirror.Today was antenatal day.The words echoed in my mind like something I was afraid to touch too hard.I placed my hand on my stomach gently.“We’re doing this together,” I whispered.I took a slow breath and finally stepped away from the mirror. The car was already waiting outside when I came down. Ivy's POV My eyes fluttered open slowly, my lashes brushing against something soft. For a moment, I didn’t move. I just lay there, trying to understand where I was.The ceiling above me wasn’t white hospital paint anymore. It was warm cream.I turned my head slightly. The room was large. Too large for one person. The lighting was soft, golden, falling gently across polished surfaces and neatly arranged furniture. Everything looked… perfect. Like no one had ever suffered inside it.My fingers tightened slightly against the bedsheet.Where am I?My throat felt dry as I tried to sit up slowly. A faint ache still lingered in my body, a reminder of everything that had happened before I blacked out.The hospital. The pain. The fear.My hand instinctively moved to my stomach.A sudden sound at the door made me freeze. It opened. And he walked in.Zayn.He stopped the moment his eyes landed on me, as if he had already known I would be awake. Calm as always. Dressed in dark clothing that made

Ivy's POV“I can’t go with you.”The words came out before I could rethink them, but it was firm enough that even I surprised myself.Zayn paused. For the first time since I met him, something subtle shifted in his expression. Not confusion exactly… but a slight narrowing of his gaze, like he was trying to understand what I had just refused. We stood outside the compound.“Why?” he asked calmly. “We aren't staying in the same room, and I don't mean any harm.”“I know,” I said quickly, my fingers tightening around the strap of my bag. “And I’m grateful. I really am.”His eyes didn’t leave me.“But?”That single word made my throat tighten.I lowered my gaze slightly.“I just… can’t keep depending on you, and it hasn't been long since I met you,” I admitted quietly.A brief silence followed.“I understand,” he said finally.I gave a small, almost sad smile. “That’s what it looks like.”His jaw tightened slightly, just for a second.“I won't force you against your wish.”“Thank you,” I s
Ivy's POV“I’ll drop you home.”The words came so simply, so calmly, that for a moment, I thought I had imagined them.I blinked, looking up at him.“That’s not necessary,” I said quickly, almost immediately. “I can manage. It’s not far.”A lie.It wasn’t exactly close either, and my body still felt weak, but I didn’t want to trouble him more than I already had.He had done more than enough.“I said I’ll drop you,” he repeated, his tone unchanged. It was not loud but it sounded like a decision that had already been made.My fingers tightened slightly around the strap of my bag. “I really don’t want to inconvenience you…”“You won’t.”I hesitated for a second longer, then slowly nodded. “O-okay…”Something about him made it hard to refuse, like saying no would be the strange thing, not the other way around. The car was exactly what I expected. The kind of car people turned their heads to look at when it passed.I stood there for a second, unsure of what to do.“Get in.”I glanced at hi
Ivy's POV“You’re not eating.”His voice was calm, and low… yet it pulled me out of my thoughts instantly.I blinked and looked down at the plate in front of me. I hadn’t even realized I’d been staring at the food this whole time. The table was set neatly, everything arranged with quiet elegance. The kind of place I had only seen from afar, never imagined sitting in. The soft clink of cutlery, the faint hum of conversations around us, the polished glass and warm lighting—it all felt too expensive.“I… I am,” I said quickly, picking up the fork like I needed to prove it, but my hands weren’t steady.Sitting across from him. The same man who had just stopped me outside my workplace. The same man who was now watching me with that unreadable expression.I swallowed nervously and took a small bite, though I could barely taste anything.Silence settled between us for a moment.“I was the one who brought you to the hospital.”My hand froze mid-air.Slowly, I lifted my head, my eyes meeting h

Ivy's POV“Ivy!”The sharp voice cut through the noise of the supermarket, loud enough to turn a few heads. I stiffened immediately, my fingers tightening around the carton of milk I was trying to arrange on the shelf.Slowly, I turned.Mrs. Dorsey stood a few steps away, her heels clicking against
Ivy’s POV “It’s just you and me now, little one,” I whispered again, my palm pressed firmly against my belly. The baby gave no response, of course, it was too early, but the gesture grounded me.I had no savings worth mentioning, no friends, and a family that had chosen Sienna over me. Going back
