Chapter 20 – Dealing with Sandra

Dylan was already working on recovering that money, but he never meant to return it to the Cambridges’ coffers. This was money he wanted to invest in his name to prove to Maeve’s father that he was already well-to-do and was not going to marry Maeve because of money, like how he had branded Gabriel.

It was the reason why he didn’t move ahead with the wedding preparations yet. Reginald was smart, and Dylan wanted to be smarter.

Maeve wanted to be sure that he was going to return the money and asked,

“You promise?”

“Of course,” Dylan eagerly agreed. Since Maeve found him out, he had no choice but to do so. However, he was going to find another way to get it all back. There was more and he knew he had to cover them up to not come to light for Maeve to find out.

“Then make it fast. Dad will soon be handing over the company to you, and I want him to see how hardworking and smart you are,” Maeve pinched his ego, and as expected, he was grinning like a fool.
