(Asher’s POV)
Because of the overwhelming feeling of what Inspector Heinz just stated, I was struggling to fell into my comfortable slumber. However, my perpetual abhorrance ended mysteriously, and when I woke up, the gentle bright ray of sunglight rising from the horizon greeted my eyes. I was engulfed with comfortable warmth, my body seethed with something I’ve never felt before; something that heals myself, something that gives me strength.
As I moved my body and was in an attempt to open my eyes because only God knows how fatigued you’ll become the next day when you literally slept late the night before, I felt something soft brushing against my arms. One of my arms felt like it touched a number of fabric, a lot more than just a single hospital robe I’m wearing and the bed sheet, while the other one rested above something warm and supple which strangely is not to my disliking. Upon transitioning between a squinted almost closed e
(Asher’s POV)“Oh hey there, little girl.” I crouched down in front of her, still stretching my clasped hand a bit to my front to let her held my hand and to make sure I didn’t hurt her while I sit. I mean, I am 6’1 and she’s a cutesy pie- I mean about 3 to 4 feet tall, so I don’t want to cause any damage or scare her either way.“Hello.” Her tiny and cute voice greeted me back. She then let my hand go and began to fidget shyly while fumbling the end of her small hospital robe.I smiled. “What are you doing here, sweetheart?”She giggled, probably happy that I called her that way. I too am happy to see her smile.I paused a bit when I felt a hand caressing my back before I felt a subtle push. Then I saw Elaine also crouching beside me, using my body as a support as she bent down.“Hello there.” Elaine chirped in a soft tone. The girl immediately blushed and
(Last night)‘Horrendous’, that’s what the half blood Inspector Karl Heinz concluded while seeing a headless body lying in front of him. After receiving the news of the lost of Nathan Michaelis, or, that was what Hans stated after the tracker he mysteriously managed to place inside the evil Madam’s secretary’s phone lost it’s signal. A dead battery was what Inspector Karl Heinz thought at first, but suddenly the phone moved towards un unplanned direction then suddenly died? Not so.The partner in crime of the Inspector thought the exact scenario of what happened to the secretary; with evidences of his damaged car being driven to the warehouse area, blood spraying in places, and claw and bite marks on the neck of the six lifeless body detected by his group.Inspector Heinz sauntered to his partner, who just got up from crouching beside a severed head. Because of acute damage to the face, the perpetrator’s identity is almo
(Asher’s POV)“Mom, what is the meaning of all this?” I called my mother soon after I finished reading the news. Meanwhile, Elaine is in a daze on her bed.“It heightens my mood to hear you so energetic in the morning, son.” My mother dithered.“Mom…!” I retorted, getting a bit annoyed. My mother loudly cackled, entertained that she managed to irritate her son. My mother can be like this sometimes.“Alright, I’m sorry, my dear.” My mother finished her laugh. “So it’s like this, apparently our allies increased. I received a report from the police HQ that multiple reports and requests of arresting Rose Chadwick was received in just a short amount of time yesterday, which was why the police was able to apprehend her using the arrest permit.”My mother suddenly giggled again. “I’m just impressed by how fast things progressed.”&ldq
(Two weeks later…)Based on the number of squirrels and birds going outside and begin collecting nuts and berries, and twigs for their nests, the seasons have displayed their apparent change. From the smouldering hot summer to the chilly cold weather of the autumn, time passed by Maplewood, like many other places. Yet, a figure is looking at itself in the mirror restlessly, hopping at one place while huffing and puffing as it tried to calm itself. Not too far from the jumpy figure, separated by a wall, there was a sound of people talking briefly, followed by the sound of knocking on the door.“Elaine?” A muffled male voice asked from the other side. The jumpy young girl separated herself from the mirror to turn her head towards the door.“Come in.” She heard her voice skidded a bit, indicating her nervousness. While she swallowed, a male clad in a three piece suit and tie entered the room. His emerald pair of eyes sta
“Mister Nathan!” Elaine shot up from her seat. Asher who was sitting on the seat beside her turned to look at her, before his eyes shot up to see Nathan.“Mister Michaelis!” Asher paused a bit to look at his back. “Is Miss Jonas still not here?”Nathan smoothly shook his head and formed a half smile, saying “She had some matters to attend, so I will be the only witness for today.” As he still didn’t tell the two of them that Nikita is in coma.Elaine shot a worried look at Nathan, before giving it to Asher. “Will only one witness be enough to support the evidence?”“Probably.” Asher threw his gaze to the empty defendant’s table. “Let’s just hope that snake didn’t bring her wales inside the courtroom.”A few minutes after he said that, Rose Chadwick appeared from behind the doors with a couple of police who’s holding her restrained. GaryGary Chadwick had never expected his own wife to try and kill him. In the morning of the trial, Gary received a call from Rhea Ildian asking him to go to the trial as one of the plaintiffs. The middle aged lawyer had always been wanting to expose his wife’s cruelty of her abuse, so he agreed. While the lawyer prepared to go to the courtyard, flashes of memories filled his view.In the beginning, Gary thought Rose’s abuse was a way for her to teach Elaine like how a parents would do to teach their children a lesson. However, his three own children never received punishment as harsh as Elaine’s. She was abused day in and day out while having to do the housework as well as studies. Gary ignored Elaine’s sufferings for the first couple of years all because his wife whipped up a lie saying that Elaine’s parents have done something terrible to her in the past. However, the sufferings continued, and mental abuse towards her began to g
GaryMeanwhile, Rose Chadwick flared in disbelief and hatred. There are reasons why Gary Chadwick wasn’t his wife’s attorney. The first one was to avoid biasing, as Gary and Rose is related, the second one was because Rose didn’t trust Gary anymore to be her attorney because he allowed her to be arrested, an the last one, was because her husband was supposed to be killed so he won’t be able to come to the court today to be a witness. Yet unscarred, Gary Chadwick came with his limbs still attached, as if the group of 20 people Rose Chadwick hired were never there to target him.“You want to make a statement for the plaintiffs?” The judge reaffirmed. At the plaintiffs seat, the Asher and Elaine couple looked at Gary unblinked. Asher then turned to look at his mother, and saw Madam Rhea nodded her head.“Yes, Sir.”“Hm.” The rightful head judge narrowed his eyes as he mouthed a short comment. He gla
NathanNathan Michaelis had been swallowing several times to ease the discomfort he felt in his chest. He felt like dying, but at the same time, he’s still alive and well. The recurring vibration of his phone shook him from his taxing activity.“Hello?” Nathan answered, ignoring the caller’s ID.“Nathan.”Instantly Nathan frowned. This voice at the end of the line sounded alright recognizable—a deep and smooth voice of Carson Dimitri, the person that he loathes yet he couldn’t seem to escape him. Carson’s voice would always bring a mysterious sense of peace whenever he heard them, yet this time, that one words leaving his mouth added more to the excruciating pain he’s experiencing. What is wrong with him?“What is it?” Nathan cleared his throat after that. The discomfort in his chest be really killing him slowly at this rate.Carson fell silent as if hesitant to tell. Su
