Chapter 43 part 2.
Something is touching my hair and I've gone in and out of consciousness, fighting my way through waking up. I don't know how long I've gone through the same pattern, but one thing I know, is that I need to stay awake.
" Aah, look who's awake." I hear his voice.
My body is exhausted and it feels heavy, I feel like I can't move because of where I've been shot. I know that this monster shot me.
I feel numb almost, but I do all I can to resist letting myself fall unconscious again.
" I was getting bored here, good thing you woke up. Damn, you're stronger than I thought, you're still holding on." He chuckles.
I want to punch him hard right now, so bad.
I hear him shift, and by the squeaking sound, I know that he has me laid onto a bed. When he sits infront of me, I feel disgusted just by looking into his eyes.

The light is shining so bright, almost blinding my eyes. I blink a couple of times until I can adjust to it. When I become familiar to the room, I recognize my surroundings and conclude, that I am in the hospital.Moving one of my arms because they feel a little numb right now, I frown when something restrains me. I shift on the bed, trying to sit up and do something, because I don't like the effect, that the silence seems to have on us. ~ Flashback~' I think she's warming up to me being her father.' I hear Owen say.I know that they think I'm still asleep, but I've long woken up now.' Something soft touches my forehead, surely waking me up. I feel someone get in under the covers and wrap an arm around me, pulling me close. Knowing that it's no one else but Wesley, my response to him is snuggling into his chest." I thought I was being careful to not wake you up." He whispers above my head.I sigh, opening my eyes and tilting my head back, so I look up at him." I was wondering why you haven't snuck into my room yet, after....." " Thank you." I hear Owen say, as he walks the doctor out.I touch on my bandaged middle, sighing in relief that it's not as painful anymore. When the doctor had touched and pressed the wound, the tingling was replaced by a shot of pain.Thankfully, he told us that I just need to take a better look after myself and not push too hard. I should not push too hard to fully recover, I should allow everything to take natural cause.I think Owen must be more relieved, when the doctor had said we didn't need to go to the hospital. I'm pretty sure that he has no desire to ever visit the hospital again. " So, how do we do this?" I ask, turning around to face Aiden.I'm doing all I can to not let the tears fall." You know that this is not exactly goodbye."" My brother Aiden and I have been runaways for as long as I could remember. It was never by choice but of forced situation, leading us to the life we now know.We've moved to more places than I can count, and I've never bothered to get to know a place enough to consider it home.But here we are, in the small town of Rivermead, a sought out refuge till we initially were here, with intention of settling down for at least more than 2 years.I never fully understood why we ran until an incident happened, which jolted all blocked memories awake and I was facing my worst nightmare.A time I don't long to remember and want no repeat of. I'm pretty sure my brother would agree with me on this. My brother Aiden has been the only family I know and have, since mom passed away when I was just 8 years old. He basically raised me and I love him so much. As for my father, well, that's a story for another day.
