I just woke up to the irritating sound of my alarm clock. Argh! how I really hate Mondays. I had to wake up so early even though it was against my will. Why do schools start really early in the morning? I need to be at the University even if it's still dawn. How draining it is. Hell, I would love to stay in bed longer.

Five minutes had passed, I guess, when I heard an annoying noise once again. That shitty alarm clock, I'm gonna throw that away later. Argh! Now I can't sleep.

Due to frustration, I just decided to move now so that I won't be late. I've done some stretching to stretch my bones so that they won't be painful when I do heavy work.

After stretching, I took rest first before deciding to take a bath. My mom always told me to take a bath first before eating. She also said that I should remember what Baymax had said "One hour rest after eating before swimming" that goes same with taking a bath. Well, I'm not gonna lose anything if I follow her and look, it has become a habit now.

Right after I finished taking my clothes on, a plain black t-shirt paired with pants, I immediately went to the kitchen to cook for my breakfast. I cooked fried rice with an omelet, and hot milk for my drink. I always eat a heavy meal for my breakfast because eating a lot in the morning will give me energy for the whole day.

I still have a lot of time to spend before I go to University. I decided to read books, and review the lesson I had last week. Also, it will help me recall the lesson we discussed. Time flies and it's time for me to go now. I was busy packing my things when suddenly, my phone rang. Thinking it was my mom, I didn't bother looking at the caller's name. I just answered it.

"Hey mom, could you wait for a second. I'll just finish packing my thi-"

"Kevin." It wasn't my mom. I blink twice, and look at the caller's name. It's my boyfriend, James.

"Sorry about that, Babe. Why did you call by the way? Do you need anything? I'll drop it by," I asked. I'm really surprised by his sudden call, he's not the guy who'll call early in the morning. The line went silent for a minute, I looked at the phone, it's still connected.

"Ah, hello Babe? Are you still there?"

"Can we meet later? At the school's library. Exactly 1 o'clock."

"Hold on a minute, I'm gonna check my schedule for today." I took the call on 'Hold' and took a look at my schedule on my phone. I don't have classes after lunch so it'll be fine to go.

"Sure, I'll be there. Gotta go, love you."

"Yea," and then the phone call ended. I tried to look at it again but it's already gone. Okay, what was that? Nevermind. Hey, I should be going now.

I walked towards the bus station. Well, X University isn't that far from the apartment I stay in. I left my parents' house years ago so that I can live independently. Mom was against it at first but eventually allowed me when I gave her an assurance. I visit them every weekend if I don't have classes or if it's a holiday.

As I arrived at the University, my friends were already there waiting for me. Those two are the only ones I got here since I'm not that friendly. Well, I rather have them than to surround myself with people I can't understand. Also, they're the ones who accept and respect me for who I am, they never leave me when others did, it's enough reason for me to keep them too.

"Hey man, you're way too early today, what's with you?"  Liam asked. Right, I'm always late so me being early is a very uncommon scene for them. Well, people do change Haha.

"Should there be a reason for me not to be late?" Liam laughed at it. What? There's nothing wrong being punctual, right?

"Of course there's none, I'm just too surprised to see you so early today. I didn't expect this day to happen," he laughed again. Argh, what's with this guy? Did he eat chocolates early in the morning?

"Hey, stop it, both of you.  I'm really hungry, let's go to the cafeteria first since we still have time." I checked my class schedule today. I have 3 classes today, and since I'm way too early, I have much time so I'll let them drag me.

There aren't many people here in the cafeteria, maybe because it's still 5:30 in the morning. I already had my breakfast at the apartment so I just ordered some latte to drink. Liam bought a chocolate cake together with an iced coffee. Ah, this man really loves chocolate, the reason why he's so energetic. Katherine, on the other hand, ordered a rice meal. She said she didn't eat dinner last night because she practiced drumming but I doubt it, she probably went out, partying.

"Hey, by the way, what are your plans for today?" Katherine asked. I don't think of that just now. Maybe I'll go visit mom after classes. I was not able to visit her last time since I'm loaded with school work. Argh, I miss her.

"Can we meet later? At the school's library. Exactly 1 o'clock."

Right. I almost forgot about what James said. Now, I'm thinking about it. What must be the reason for it? Oh, maybe he'll give me something, or are we going on a date? I can't wait.

"What the hell on Earth are you thinking Mr. Kevin Valencia? You're spacing out." I blinked twice. I didn't notice that she was speaking. Too bad that I didn't pay attention to it.

"Sorry about that. I'm just thinking about James, he called me earlier and told me to meet at the library. I wonder for what reason," I told them.

"Tsk, I thought it's something important, just some shitty news," Katherine exclaimed. Liam just looked away. I sighed. These two never liked James. I don't know the reason why but whenever I open a topic about James, they'll eventually lose interest, and sometimes leave.

"Kevin, I've told you many times, we respect you for who you are. We don't care if you had a relationship with a man. What we can't accept is that for many guys out there, really, James 'The Jerk' Vergara. Are you out of your mind?"

I just smiled at what Katherine said. They always said that. I respect what they're doing for my sake but James isn't like that. For me, he is almost perfect. He never lied to me, or even cheated. There's no reason for me not to like him.

Minutes have passed, and students are starting to fill the cafeteria. Katherine is still eating while both me and Liam have finished. Not so long, two ladies walked towards our table.

"Ahm excuse me, are you from the ClassA103 of Business Administration?" the lady asked me. I was a bit confused but still answered.

"Yes, do you need anything?" I politely asked. It is so unusual to see people interact with me. I am always with Liam, Katherine, or James, and I don't have interest in talking to others. So what's the deal now?

"Great! We've heard that you're top in your class and we want to ask you if you want to be a candidate in this coming election for student council. We want you to be part of our team." Student Council, huh. Well, I don't really do any school activities aside from classes. It's too much responsibility and I don't think I'm able to handle that. For me, being in a position is a big role and you must give all of your best to do your duties. That'll be tiring for sure.

"Thank you for your invitation but I couldn't accept it. I'm not that kind of person to be a role model," I said. It's true. How could I be if I'm not that sociable to others?

"Oh, is that so? Well, we still didn't close the team for you. If you ever have a change of mind, you're free to message us. Here, just send me a message, okay?" The lady gave me a piece of paper with a number on it. It must be her phone number. I just keep it in my pocket. I don't think I'm gonna change my mind.

"By the way, we forgot to introduce ourselves. I'm Elena Bartolome, running for presidency and she's Olivia Flores, the vice." I looked at both of them. They have this image of being a leader. Also, when you look at them, you know they'll stand out. They are so perfect for the role, unlike me.

"I'm Kevin, it's nice meeting you too," I said and shook their hands as a sign of recognition. The two immediately bid their goodbyes since the bell rings. I fixed myself too since it's class time for me. I left Liam and Katherine there because they still have time to spend since they weren't classmates. Before I entered the room, I prayed for a minute. This day will be tiring again for sure. May my soul be still with me.

Just like I thought, this day was so tiring. We did lots of paperwork and left with tons of assignments. We are also tasked to do a group presentation on the next day, which is reporting. Argh, I want to sleep now.

I looked at my watch, it's quarter to 1. I messaged Liam and Katherine that I'll be going first since I have to meet James and I'm gonna visit my mom today. They didn't reply to me, maybe they still have classes. I didn't  take lunch, instead, I went straight to the library. I waited for about 10 minutes before James arrived. I walked towards him to kiss him but he pushed me. Is there something wrong?

James looked at me. "I want to tell you something," he said. I don't know why but my heart suddenly beats so fast. He didn't mention anything, or something about the topic he's gonna tell me but I feel that this isn't good.

"Let's... break up."

  • HURRICANE   Chapter Forty-Two

After eating at the cafeteria, Ezekiel and I decided to walk Aleah back to her classroom since it'll be also on our way to the clubroom. At first, Aleah refused but I really insisted so she just let me. This is the least thing I can do for everything she did for me. If it wasn't for her, I really don't know how I would be able to catch up with my missed classes. "Here you go. Thank you again for the handouts you've given to me. You're my saviour," I said as we reached the door of her classroom. Ah, I miss being in class. "Don't mention it. Anyways, thank you too. Goodluck for the both of you. I hope you guys will be back with positive news.""We surely will be, see you later," Ezekiel said as he waved his hand. And with that, Ezekiel and I left, and we walked to the clubroom. This will be another tiring day, yet fulfilling. As soon as we arrived there, it only took us 10 minutes before we were all gathered and resumed campaigning again. Of course, since I am more close with Ezekie

  • HURRICANE   Chapter Forty-One

Ezekiel and I arrived at the club room, and thankfully, our other members were already there. I guess it wouldn't take us long to wait for the others and then we'll start ahead. I really hope this will be done immediately. The election's already near and yet, we still haven't finished campaigning. I already missed lots of classes because of it. "Hey, what's with the long face?" Elena asked me. Oh, did I make it obvious to them that I am thinking hard? "Oh, nothing, I'm just thinking about some stuff," I said. "I see, I won't question you anymore. I just hope you're not regretting your decision joining us." Actually, that's the thing I am thinking about, I felt like it was wrong for me to join and now I'm regretting it. I just awkwardly laugh at her. Just like what I thought, it doesn't really take us long to wait for the others. Now, since we're already complete, we immediately continue campaigning. Our goal for today is to at least finish half of the remaining classes. Our day

  • HURRICANE   Chapter Forty

It was 4 in the morning when I woke up. After minutes of staring at the ceiling, I finally decided to get up. I only did some workouts, and then took a rest. Afterwards, I took a bath and fixed myself. Luckily, there were still some good clothes left at my cabinet that I can use. When I was done, I took my bag and then left. Mom's still sleeping so I just left a note for her, I hope she'll be able to read it. "Mom, sorry for leaving without giving you a notice. You're still sleeping so I decided not to wake you up. I'll be heading to school now. Please have some rest, okay? I'll visit again when I'm free. I love you."I walked my way to the village's gate. It was still dark outside, well the sunrise hasn't risen yet. I sitted on the bench at the waiting shed, and waited for a bus to pass by. Hoh, it was so cold outside. I didn't have any jacket with me. I looked at my surroundings, there was no one. I was alone here. Before, I really didn't like the feeling of it. I used to call my

After that conversation I had with Andrei, I immediately went downstairs to help mom prepare the food, leaving Andrei alone in my room. I hadn't even reached the kitchen when I already heard his footsteps behind me. I didn't even dare to look at him so I just continued on my way to the kitchen. "Oh, I was about to call you two. Take a seat," mom said and the two of us obliged. I sat down at the edge of the table while Andrei sat beside me. Mom on the other hand, sat in front of us. Hope that I survive this night without mom noticing anything wrong between me and Andrei. Afterwards, we started eating. "So how's the university?" Of course it's still a university, mom. Or am I unaware that it became a hospital or cementery? "Our schedules have been kind of hectic these past few weeks due to loads of work. There's also many upcoming events that's why we really don't have enough time for leisure, Auntie. Right, Kevin?" What should I do tonight? I made my way here instead of stayin

  • HURRICANE   Chapter Thirty-Eight

When I came home, mom wasn't around. I kept calling her but there's really no one answering me. I wonder where she went. I reminded her multiple times to stay only in the house when she's alone because something might happen again to her yet she doesn't really know how to listen. I was about to call her when the door opened, there I saw mom entering the house holding tons of groceries in both of her hands. I quickly helped her with it. "Mom, where have you been? Didn't I tell you to stay put here at the house? I will do those for you, you don't have to do it. You need to rest and be wary of your health. You didn't even dare to tell me you'll go out somewhere. What if something bad happens to you again?" She put down the groceries on the kitchen top and sat on a chair. "I'm sorry, honey, I got bored so I decided to do some shopping. It wasn't easy for me to just stay here all the time. I get bored easily," she said. This is what I am saying. I shouldn't leave her here alone. "Okay,

  • HURRICANE   Chapter Thirty-Seven

He looked at me the moment the kid called her daddy. There's no emotion within his eyes, so different from he used to. While me, he surely can see how confused I am right now. Too many questions kept circling in my mind. "Andrei, what does she mean-""Come on now, Nicole." And just like that, they both left, leaving me dumbfounded. I don't know what to say, nor what to do at the moment. It feels like something struck me, making me unable to move. I don't know how to explain what I am feeling right now. Because of what happened, I forgot that I was about to go to the bathroom. Feeling down, I came back to the gymnasium and sat there quietly. It keeps on bothering me that the kid called him daddy. Well, maybe it was really his daughter. But hell, can't he at least say a word to me like, "let's talk later", instead, he just left without saying a word. What should I do then? The game already started, and there I saw him. He looks so serious. As far as I want to fully watch the
