Chapter Twenty Four

Later that evening, Logan insisted on accompanying me to the field. Anyway, as long as I am able to go, it is fine with me. He can decide to bodyguard me the whole time here, but I really don’t care.

“How come you don’t know how to throw one or two things into a cooking pot and make a food?” Logan asked as we walked leisurely, just enjoying nature.

I shrugged, “I guess I never really learned. My mother used to do the cooking before she and my Papa passed, and after they died, Samuel just sort of took over from her.”

I noticed a twitch in Logan’s jaw. Good, let him be uncomfortable around the mention of Samuel’s name. I almost asked immediately why he killed the only family I have left, but the words got stuck in my tongue, which is cool because asking Logan questions like that may trigger things that will be too much for me to handle.

I sighed, there is really no need to rush with whatever I am doing especially with what I found in the files left on the table. Finally, I have found my
