I sensed that Ethan shook his head.

“Logan could have told you, but he was protecting you way too much. Little did he know that you are slimier and more devilish than he would ever have imagined,” Ethan said.

I expected to feel venom in his words, or scorn and anger and vengeance in his voice, but all I felt was an unexpected calmness.

Something tells me that he is not exactly calm instead. Why should he? He is practically standing in front of the woman that plotted and killed his best friend and boss.

Well, maybe this is the calm before the storm, which I am fully ready for now, only that I would rather he did not do anything violent in the home or even around the home that took a total stranger like me in without questions and showed me nothing but love and hospitality.
