LOGINHUNTER POV
"Are we there yet?" "Oh, for Goddess' sake, Carter! Shut that naughty mouth of yours for a second, or I swear I'll chuck you out of the car!" I said angrily. "This is the eleventh time you asked that!" To avoid my deadly stare, he hurriedly shut his mouth and looked out the window. I rolled my eyes and returned to the pack reports for a short check. "Alpha, we're getting close to the South pack's border," said one of the warriors in the driver's seat. I nodded and carefully placed the papers on the side before scanning the area as we approached. The region was dotted with lovely trees and vistas. The houses are built in rows, each with a distinct lovely hue. Each roofing has its own distinct color scheme. My gaze was drawn to the enormous structure in the center, which I imagined was their capital's pack house. In front of it, there were a few warriors who appeared to be practicing as their leaders directed them. 'Wow, they may be a tiny pack, but I guess they can keep up with us.' My wolf yipped excitedly. "Now I see why this pack is named the South pack; the females here were very cautious to hide their 'southern' part. Pffts." Carter jokingly stated. He was about to laugh, but I let out a low growl that stopped him. I stroked the base of my nose and gave Carter a death gaze, making his face pale. "What's that, Carter? I didn't quite hear you." He didn't reply but swallowed a lump on his throat and gaze out the window. "Good," I said with my serious tone and crossed arms, as the car came to a halt. The warriors jumped out of the car and collected our belongings from the trunk, while Levi and Cromwel followed me outside with a serious expression on their faces, but their lips twitched as if they were about to burst out laughing. As Alpha and his Luna approached us, I saw how amazing they both were with their dark brown hair and sky blue eyes. His aura signals that you should not play with him. He has a robust figure and a firm appearance, but his Luna has a beauty that can captivate any man's heart, with confidence and bravery on her face. "Alpha Silver."I nodded, looking into his eyes. "Alpha Hunter." He nodded back, "I'm glad we've finally reached an accord." I put on a tiny and proud grin. Of course, I worked hard to come to this agreement. "This is my mate, Luna Megan." He said, motioning with his hand beside him. I smiled and extended my hand to shake hers, but she surprised me by forming a hug around me. I was surprised for a moment as she continued to touch my back and pat the back of my head. I saw my beta out of the corner of my eye, and he twitched his lips as if ready to laugh, but he held it in. "I'm sorry, we're a family of huggers, or at least I am. I didn't want to scare you." I caressed Luna's back slowly as she began to detach her body from mine with a grin on her lips. I merely shook my head and smiled at her, saying, "No harm done, it's all right." Alpha Silver smiled wryly and nodded his head as his mate pulled back and moved beside him. "This is my son, Simon." he said, motioning with his hand to the boy with light brown hair and bright eyes. I carefully examined the future alpha, who had a humorous sparkle in his eyes that indicated he was more relaxed back than his father, but he also had a serious expression on his face that told me he'd be a terrific alpha eventually. He seemed perplexed as he began to glance sideways, then sighed and said, "My daughter, Crest, was meant to be here; I am sure she is just behind us, but she must have run away. No worries, you'll meet her soon." So her name is Crest? Based on Carter's judgment back when we were in the car, she loved shopping and hosting these kinds of meetings. But, before I pass judgment, I'd best meet her in person; I'm the type of person who doesn't believe in rumors unless I can see them for myself. I grimaced slightly as my wolf purred contentedly inside of me. What exactly is his deal? Is he on drugs or something? I never imagined my wolf was capable of purring because I had never seen or felt him emote in this manner. "Well, how about we proceed to our meeting in my office. My beta will show you around here later. Settle yourself first in the pack house's guest rooms and take some rest. Your journey to be here wasn't that easy. My luna has prepared something for you in the dining hall. Make yourself at home and feel free to ask my team if you need any help." "That's fine with us." I nodded at him. "All right, then, follow me." He led the way as we all went after him. Some eyes were on us along the way, but they lowered their heads to show us respect. My pack warriors, as well as my beta, delta, and gamma, followed us with bags in their hands. 'I hope they have decent food here, I'm hungry!' Levi mumbled in our mind link, while Carter and Cromwel hummed in agreement and discreetly nodded their heads. 'I can't wait to meet some hot chicks,' Carter continued, a cheeky grin on his face. 'Especially, their alpha daughter.' His last statement made me snarl at them. 'Naughty little pup, aren't we Carter?' My response made them lower their heads, but I know the other two are holding in their laughter. We can see more children playing and running as we get closer to the packed house. Some came up to us in their puppy forms and smelled our feet, while others bumped into us and ran away. "My husband and son just checked some minor issues at the pack border, but they'll be back very soon," Luna Megan said, drawing closer to us. "Why don't you guys go ahead to the kitchen? My daughter has prepared some food for you all, and I'll take your warriors to settle your things to your respective bedrooms." "Is everything okay?" I inquired, and it seemed as though we were all having the same problem with our pack borders. She sighed before responding, "Yes. Same old thing, rogues targeting our various borderlines, but everything is under control now." She grinned at the end of her response. I guess I'll have to discuss this with her husband later in the meeting. "Anyway, please proceed to the kitchen, I'm sure you're all famished." She continued. "You got it right, Luna." Levi said to her. She only smiled and motioned her hands towards a door. "Right there, gentlemen." While Levi, Cromwel, and Carter dashed towards the kitchen, I thanked her. She nodded and walked down the corridor, followed by my troops. When I walked into the kitchen, I was greeted with a delightful aroma of delicacies. Fried chicken, steak, carbonara, and freshly baked pastries are all available. My stomach groaned in appreciation as I continued to go closer to the kitchen island, taking in the delectable aromas. I was perplexed as to why my beta and gamma were still standing around the entrance, mouths open in the shape of an 'o.' I walked closer to them and noted that they were keeping an eye on the alpha daughter's back. While fetching something from the oven, she was quietly humming. When my heart began to pound heavily, I felt something strange. I can't get my eyes off her back. Her long, light brown wavy hair bounces as she sways gently. Because I am 6'1, her height is only a few inches less than mine. Her exquisite physique was disguised behind a baggy white sweater and a pair of snug slim black pants. "Oh, you're all here! I hope you enjoy cakes, since I baked too many," she remarked, her face lit up with a bright grin that made my heart skip a beat. As she got closer to the island, she kept smiling at us, but I noticed she tensed a bit when she looked at me. I immediately made eye contact with her brilliant sky blue eyes. As I felt something run in my spine, I swallowed a knot in my throat. My palms felt moist as my heart continued to pound loudly. Then something clicked as we both looked into each other's eyes, something strange that I couldn't explain, a pleasurable feeling. My wolf is screaming in delight, pacing back and forth and urging me to get closer to her, but I couldn't move an inch because I was staring at someone that I hadn't wished for. A mate.CREST POV I was curious as to who that woman was, but I am not yet in the mood for some interrogation, because my focus was on the next path. We turned, then, suddenly, the door locked. Hunter locked the door as if he didn't want anyone to disturb us, only making my heart beat rapidly. "Have a seat," His hand extended, pointing to the bed, and I sat down on it. "I don't want anyone to overhear our conversation, my pack doesn't know yet about the situation, and I don't want them to panic or ask me for answers. Especially when it comes to you and your gift." "But they need to know the truth though for their own safety." I responded. I know what he meant by it. The griffins and sphynx are after me, and once they find out that I am here, they might attack here. "I'm going to tell them that once the rogues' issues are lessened. I don't want them to have another problem at this moment," I sighed,"What are we going to do now? We don't have any idea where the sphynx are." "I am thin
CREST POV I instantly let go of my hand from his grip so he could hug the woman, whom I thought was his mother, based on her appearances that resembled Hunter, but it surprised me when she hugged me instead of him. "Mother, you'll freak her out," She pulled back and cupped my face,"Wow, you're so beautiful, you must have so many men-" "Mom?" Hunter chided, giving me an apologetic look as she pulled away her hands from my face and gave Hunter a quick hug, then turned to me again. "Oh, I'm so sorry sweetie, I am just so excited about meeting you. It's about time Hunter found his mate. I've heard so much about you." "Oh, I hope what you heard was all good," I commented jokingly. She swung her hand and moved closer to my face,"Really good," I smiled warmly,"It's nice to meet you Luna." "Oh, enough with the Luna thing, you're going to be the Luna soon, darling. Just call me Mommy or Mimi. Kidding, I'm Lea." She was a bit fun, and I am kind of confused as to what she really wante
CREST POV Hunter's husky voice whispered in my ear, with a little smile teasing me on his face, making me snap away from the ground where I was lying down. My arms are supporting my body in order just to meet his eye. He was sitting bent, one arm rested on his knee, while the other was supporting his chin when he gave out a teasing grin. I slowly sat down and faced him, then sighed. "I couldn't sleep." I murmured slowly as I was drawn to his deep dark eyes. The moon shines on his face, showing up the curled fine eyelashes he has. Shadows of his nose cover part of his cheek. "Thinking about that witch said?" He replied, and I hummed, then I laid my body against the ground, facing my back into him. I close my eyes slowly, hoping to get my sleep. "But I don't want to talk about it now. There are some things on my mind," I muttered, my eyes closed. "Okay, so, what can I do to help you get your sleep?" I turned to meet him again, "Why?" He raised one brow, "Why?" "Yes, why?" He s
CREST POV Salem hummed, in a curious way. She continued looking at me, from top to bottom, and bottom to top. Her eyes glittered once it fell upon me. Her lips smiled shiny with a tone of dark velvet. I could see some jaw clenching while she was thinking of something. The air in the area seemed heavy. Small particles floating in the air as the sun's rays penetrate into the small circular glass window fixed at the top of the wall. The wind outside is steady. I guess there is nothing alarming outside since I could not feel any news from the others who stood by the entrance. I could feel Hunter's irritability through his hands. At the same time, he's concerned. The place became quiet as we all waited for Salem to sit down with us, but instead, she went to her mini bookshelf, and pulled out a simple leather book with some dried rose petals on the cover. She seemed to be reading some pages through it, so we waited for her to finish the book. I leaned closer to Hunter and murmured,"Wa
CREST POV I groaned as I snuggled towards the pillow, but it was kind of nice and warm. I felt like I was smiling in my sleep due to this warm comfort. Whenever the air caresses the skin of my feet or even in my face, I would snuggle to this hard warm pillow. I squeeze in closer and closer to it. "Hmm," I sniffed it and cuddled it more until I realized that this wasn't a pillow but something else. But the feeling of cuddling with it longer is winning over me. How I wish I could have this kind of pillow for the rest of my life. My eyes snapped open and flickered to adjust to the darkness. A few seconds of realization hit me when something moved beneath me, then my eyes widened as the warm scent hit my nose. I am on top of Hunter! Not to mention one of his hands was set on my ass. "Can you move your hands, please?" I whispered as I started to pull away from him. I observed the area and the team were starting to wake up. The sun isn't awake yet based on the darkness and the col
CREST POV It had been a while since we last rested on the field. Now the air seemed as cold as when my father and I had traveled south in the winter, but this is summer season. Why is the air here different? I tried to match or even surpass their speed, but I knew in myself my ability for now is limited, because I knew that other parts of my body still hurt, and my wolf was still healing. A couple of hours passed, the sun was about to set again. I feel a bit tired, sleepy, and groggy at the same time. My soles are hurt, and my neck is stiff and needs some cracks. I have to admit, riding at Hunter's back was better than on my own. I saw Carter's face, he was also tired. He seemed to be talking to others on their mind. Cromwel gave him a side look, and Levi just smiled. Hunter on the lead was just as serious as the time we first set out. He just nodded his head in agreement with what they were talking about in their minds. "We can stop near the river that passes the East Borderlin
