Turned Table

“Hazel, what are you doing here? You should leave now before your father catches you. Please, my daughter, I cannot afford to see you dead” Her mother, Luna, Luna Gabrielle pleaded with her daughter. Gabrielle had felt the urge to give the guards some sweet personality as a party was going on.

She had fed them the sweet and was about to leave when she sighted Hazel coming from a distance. Not sure, she had to go out to check. She could not afford her husband, Alpha Jon Stiff, to see their daughter.

He had disowned her the very moment she chose Seven over them by allowing him access to her body even when she was not supposed to.

“No mother” She managed to speak as she was fainting. Her strength was fainting. She had walked quite a distance and with her wolf not coming out, it was very difficult for her. “I would rather die by father’s sword”.

“What is wrong with you? Why are you like this? What is the matter? Where is Seven? Go back to him, you both should start a life. I know your father’s heart would be softened later on. You are his only heir and child” Her mother tried to make her leave but she was obstinate.

“Seven is getting to meet his mate tonight” She answered with a blank face.

“What! What do you mean? Are you not his mate” Luna’s brows furrowed as she did not understand what was going on. With Hazel’s state, she knew she could not be lying. She was telling the truth.

“Seven jilted me. He doesn't want me anymore. He used me” She smirked.

“Wow!"

At the sound of the voice, Gabrielle almost jumped out of her skin. No, this cannot be happening right now. She quickly stood in front of her father, like she was protecting her. It was Alpha Jon Stiff.

“Please, do not hurt my daughter, she will leave. I promise” The Luna pleaded. Hazel on the other hand was not bothered as she simply bowed. She could not call him her father as he would be very upset.

“He jilted you?” He let out a loud laugh. Luna watched in fear. She did not know what action the Alpha King was going to take next but whatever it was, she was ready to stand for her daughter and protect her.

“I told you. I warned you. That bastard and his good-for-nothing father are devils. I saw this coming but you were blinded by love. Have you seen where it landed you? So, why are you here?” He folded his hands with a smile on his face.

“I have betrayed you, father and the price for betrayal is death, please, kill me father” She went on her knees. Luna's eyes widened in shock. What was Hazel saying?

“Are you out of your mind?” Luna whispered to her daughter as she wondered what had come over her.

“No, my daughter” He raised her and pulled her into a warm embrace. Luna watched in shock. “I knew you would come back to me. You have my blood in you. I have missed you so much”

“I too, father” She let the tears flow freely from her eyes. Seeing the authenticity of what was happening, Luna sighed in relief.

“You see, I have always known that Cloud and his father are up to no good. I have always wanted to attack but because of you, I have always pardoned them”

“I am sorry, father. I am sorry for being blinded by love. I never realized they were that deceptive but I am glad I do now” She bowed.

“It is okay, my daughter. With your permission, we would love to attack them, soon-to-be Luna” He bowed with a smile plastered to his face. The duo laughed while Luna looked on. She hoped Hazel will say no but with the looks of things, it seemed to be the other way around.

Hazel was filled with hate and anger that she did not care anymore. Yes, her tender heart was shattered. She was just two weeks from being eighteen and that was the last thing she deserved.

“You have my permission” She smiled. The Alpha smiled.

“That is my daughter, I am so proud of you” The Alpha smiled again.

“No! What has come over you, Hazel? Why are you doing this? You have always been an advocate of peace, what then is the matter with you?”

“I am an advocate of peace and will always be. I would promote peace only with the right people.” She answered bluntly.

“You are becoming wiser, my daughter” The Alpha beamed with joy.

“Be calm, Hazel. Do not make a decision you would regret later. When you are calm, have a rethink”

“Mother, you were not there when Seven hurt me. You discovered Father was your mate and even though you were from a humble family and he was the next Alpha, it never bothered you. You were not close to royalty nor were you affiliated to royalty yet his parents and yours did not object.

He kept you with him since you were sixteen and made you his mate when you were eighteen yet no one objected. A few months after, you had me, your only child yet no one objected. You have never been let down in your entire life.

You have never faced rejection your entire life so you do not know what it means when someone you love so much and can die for does not feel the same for you. You have no idea how it feels to be used by someone you love and cherish so much.

You have no idea, mother so you have no idea of what I felt when Seven decided to hurt me. You have no idea how shattered my little heart was when Seven told me he was getting married to someone else. You have no idea how it feels to be used so mother, do not tell me what to do”

“But Hazel, I am still your mother, and I...”

“Oh, can you just keep quiet? You have always been an advocate of peace. You always wanted peace. When Hazel wanted to leave, you supported her because you wanted peace.

When Seven began exploring her little, fragile body, you supported him. Did I make love to you even at that age? I waited for you till you were happy with it and when you were of age but he? He coaxed her into it”

“You know that is not true, Hazel gave her consent”

“Because he was desperately in need of it and she wanted to prove her love and have you seen where your ‘peace' has landed my daughter? Do not interfere in this” He turned to Hazel and held her hand as he walked her into the park house, leaving the guards shocked.

No one had expected to see her in the park house as the Alpha had made it clear that he did not want to see her anymore, not even around the park house.

“It is a good time you are here. We are having a celebration. Today makes it twenty years since I ascended the throne” He smiled as they all walked back in.

“Congratulations, father. You have indeed been on the throne for a long time.” She smiled.

“Yes, I have and you will soon be the next Luna. I cannot wait to see you succeed me, my daughter. You would indeed rule well and right and my people will obey you. You are a good woman and everyone will love you” He smiled.

Luna followed in silence as she wondered what could have gone wrong. Why would Seven deny and reject Hazel? Of course, he was her mate and she was very sure of it. What then was happening? She still could not believe nor could she understand what could have made everything turn sour.

Hazel had suddenly changed. She was suddenly becoming like her father. Was there no room for peace anymore?

“By the way, when is the mating ceremony of Seven?” He asked as they entered the central room.

“He said it is going to happen on my birthday eve” She scoffed. Gabrielle’s fear aggravated. What did he have in mind?

What was he going to do? What was going to happen? Her heart skipped in fear.

“Really?” His lips curved into a devilish smile.

“Let’s see how the party is going to hold” He grinned.

“What are you planning, father?” Hazel smiled, getting a hint of what her father had in mind.

He looked at her and smiled and she reciprocated the act.

“It would be the right time to strike, won’t it?” He smiled at his daughter.

“No, that is not right, you cannot do that. Why would you want to ruin such a joyful moment?” Luna objected.

“If Cloud and his son did not think twice before destroying my daughter’s life, then I won’t think twice before clearing out their entire existence” He smiled.

“But you can’t..”

“Enough” The Alpha raised his hand to object to Luna as he was tired of her blabbing.
