Chapter 59

Bella's POV.

Livia seems to be the only one that actually comes to show me that she still has some true feelings in her, as not even Zach or my maid are here to give me a proper checkup to see if I was being properly cared for.

I stared at Livia, wondering what she wanted to do or prove by coming over and leaving her husband behind. With my relationship with Zach, I still wasn't expecting she'd show up at all.

“What are you thinking?” Livia asked curiously, staring at me.

“Huh…?”

  • Her Cold-Hearted Alpha’s Regret   Chapter 68

Livia’s POVThe fear in Bella’s eyes was intoxicating. It sat there, raw and unfiltered, trembling beneath her lashes like a secret she could no longer hide. I felt it crawl under my skin, warm and satisfying, but I forced my lips into something softer, something almost kind, careful, and very careful. My gaze flickered briefly toward the corner of the room where the camera blinked its silent warning. A single mistake, a wrong angle, a slip of expression, and everything I had built would collapse like ash. So I smiled, not the cruel, cutting smile clawing at my lips, but a gentle one. A lie and somehow, that terrified Bella even more.I could see the fear in her eyes, the way she looked at me, and the way she shivered at every one of my words.“Oh my…” I whispered, my voice coated in honey, stepping closer. “Bella, you look exhausted,” I said as if I cared so much about her. This made Bella flinch, and that alone almost made me laugh out loud, but I held myself.Instead, I tilted my

CHAPTER 67Bella’s POVA soft humming drifted into my consciousness. It was low, haunting, and beautiful. It wrapped around my mind like silk, tugging me out of sleep slowly, unwillingly, and for a moment, I didn't open my eyes. I just lay there, caught between dreams and reality, letting the voice pull me closer as it was calming. Too calming, and then the realization hit.Where… am I?My eyes snapped open, and my heart nearly stopped.Right before me was Livia sitting right there.Watching me and smiling. The scream rose instantly in my throat, but it died just as quickly. My lips parted, my chest heaved, but no sound came out. It was like the air itself had been stolen from my lungs as Livia’s laughter filled the room. It was sharp, amused, and cruel.“Oh, that look…” Livia tilted her head, eyes gleaming with wicked delight. “Priceless.”My fingers curled into the bedsheets, my body trembling before I could stop it. The fear hit me in waves, cold, suffocating, and paralyzing, bu

Chapter 66Livia’s POVI refused to panic even though I was almost caught. That was rule number one.So when Hayden’s lips crashed into mine, demanding, searching, almost testing, I didn’t pull away, I didn’t hesitate, but I kissed him back just as fiercely. If anything, I leaned into it. His hand tightened around my waist, pulling me closer, as though he was trying to read me through the kiss. As though he knew something was off and was desperate to prove himself right.Too bad that asshole wasn’t calling right now.God, I would have loved to send him this.To let him hear it, to let it burn in his chest, and to let it twist his insides the way mine had twisted watching him parade around with someone else’s wife as he owned her.A small, dangerous smile played on my lips even as Hayden deepened the kiss.I was messing with his head, and I was enjoying every bit of it.When we finally pulled apart, his eyes searched mine, sharp, suspicious, and calculating.“Who was calling?” Hayden

Livia’s POVI didn’t even hesitate again as I needed to clear the air. I could see the curiosity in his eyes as he awaited an answer from me.“I heard it at the party,” I said smoothly, my voice calm, almost careless. “Someone mentioned it, and it was on the news too,” I said calmly. The lie slipped out too effortlessly.Hayden didn’t respond immediately and that was the problem. The silence with Hayden was never empty. It was calculating. His eyes stayed on me, sharp, observant, like he was peeling me apart layer by layer, searching for something I couldn’t afford for him to find.“You?” he finally said, a faint crease forming between his brows. “Listening to the news?” he asked, surprised. There was disbelief in his tone, not loud, not accusatory, just there, subtle and dangerous.I forced a soft shrug, turning away from him as if it didn’t matter. “People change, Hayden,” I said.“Do they?” he asked quietly with disbelief in his voice.I went to the bar, took two glasses of wine an

CHAPTER 64Livia’s POVEverything was perfect, too perfect. The kind of perfection that made your skin itch because you knew something, somewhere, was about to go terribly wrong.Yes, I could feel it but I can't place my hand at it.I exhaled slowly, leaning back against the cold edge of the table, letting the silence of my room swallow the chaos of the day. It had been long, draining, calculated, every smile, every step, and every word carefully placed like pieces on a chessboard.I was winning at least. So, I thought I was.My fingers curled around the handle of the dagger, lifting it gently into the dim light. The blade gleamed smooth, flawless, and deadly. A quiet promise of what it could do. A slow smile spread across my lips. “Beautiful…” I whispered, tilting it slightly, watching the reflection shift. “You are going to make her scream, aren’t you?” I muttered silently.“Bella” I called softy. Just the thought of her name made something dark twist inside me.I already had t

CHAPTER 63Zachary’s POVEverything felt like it was hitting me all at once, too many loose ends, too many things were not making sense.I stood just outside the building, my head reeling faster than I could keep up with. For a moment, I didn’t know what decision to make.Should I go after Perry? Or figure out what the hell is going on here first? My wolf stirred restlessly inside me, angry, unpredictable and awake in a way it hasn’t been in a long time and that alone was enough to make me pause and rethink because my wolf doesn’t get this alert without a reason. My mind drifted back to Perry and his recent behavior. First, they were subtle changes that were easy to ignore and dismiss. But now? It all felt wrong, too secretive and bringing Bella into things…I exhaled sharply.“That wasn’t enough, was it?” I mumbled under my breath.Something else was going on, something deeper.A sudden movement caught my attention. I turned slightly and there she was. Bella’s maid. She was walking o
