Chapter 60

Farren's Point of View

For lunch, I decided to head out into the garden. Set up shop beneath a nearby tree. Nature was always a calming balm against the tender spot of my heart. Made my life a little less miserable when misery was all I was used to.

Clouds gathered thickly above the branches. But it was a stunning day. Not too hot and not too cold. The perfect temprature. Birds still danced in the overcast sky. Some animals rustled in the leaves above my head. They were the best company to keep. Spoke little to none and never pried into your life.

Besides, being indoors with nine other people felt a bit much at the moment. Especially with Priamos skulking about the house. Someone had kicked him in the balls. That someone was me. I wouldn't forgive him easily but having a conversation had to happen sooner rather than later.

If it were to happen, I sure as hell wouldn't want it to be in earshot of the little ones.

I had chased Rafael out of my home. He had also known about my father and
