Cynthia’s POV

‎A few minutes later, I woke up with my head swung on my shoulder, my hand tied to a chair, and my legs tied together.

‎I jolted immediately, my eyes darted around, adrenaline released into my bloodstream, and panic engulfed my whole being.

‎'Where am I? Who are these people!' I panicked, but I couldn't find anyone.

‎I struggled to loosen the robe, but it wasn't coming off, I was becoming frustrated. Why did they kidnap me? I had nothing! Absolutely nothing!

‎Even my marriage to Daniel was never public, so how would anyone know I was married to a billionaire to want to kidnap me?

‎"Let me go!" I suddenly screamed. But nothing changed, no one came out of nowhere. Was I brought here, to starve, rot, and die?

‎"Please you have the wrong person! Let me go!" I screamed one more.

‎"Will you keep quiet there?! You're disturbing the whole place;" A man suddenly yelled startling my soul, I felt a cold shiver run down my spine.

‎"Please let me go. I have nothing to my name, I'm not the right person for this, I'm just a countryside girl, please let me go." I muttered, hot tears spilling down my face now, my heart broken at my words, just a moment ago, I was a wife, but now a countryside girl, thrown out with no remorse.

‎"You're no countryside girl Mrs Cynthia Daniel Maxwell."

‎What? That was my full name, who was this person, how did she know I was Daniel's wife? I could swear that was a female voice.

‎"Untie her." Her voice echoed as she came to light.

‎Time seemed to freeze, my breath seized as I looked a the girl who stood in front of me, gun in her hand, looking the same as me.

‎What was going on? Was there a mirror? Was I looking at myself in the mirror? I looked down at my body but I was beaten to a pulp with my dress all torn to compare to this person who probably just took a bath.

‎"I knew it!" She scoffed.

‎"I knew Daniel would never get over me." Her laughter intensified.

‎"Because, do you understand this?" She asked, looking at the thug beside her all the while laughing hysterically.

‎"Tell me why he got someone who looks exactly like me?! Even though I'm prettier than this piece of sh!t" She scoffed.

‎Just then, it came clouding my head, everything was clear now. Daniel's ex got me kidnapped. But what was the point? He has already divorced me.

‎"You dare take my man? You little wench!" She yelled..

‎Anger brewed in my chest. I didn't plan any of this, all this misery I'm going through right now was proudly sponsored by Daniel. He deceived me, used me, and threw me out.

‎"You're the ex right?.. Da.."

‎Before I could complete my statement, a slap as hard as a rock landed on my cheek. It stung so bad.

‎"How dare you call me an ex, I am his fianceé! You stole him from me! How dare you!" she screamed.

‎What was she saying, Did Daniel not tell her he had already divorced me?

‎"I didn't steal anyone from anybody."

‎That seemed to anger her as she sent another slap to my other cheek. Hot tears dropped down my face.

‎"He already divorced me, what else do you want! You can go have him! Go, leave me alone please, I beg you!" I begged, but she still looked indifferent.

‎"So what if he divorces you now? You used to have him and for that, I wouldn't spare you." She threatened.

‎A cold shiver ran down my spine, was she going to kill me? My poor baby, he hasn't even gotten to see the light of the world.

‎"Please don't harm me, I'm going far away and would never come back. Daniel already threw me out, please don't do this." I begged but she smirked. Her pretty blue eye stared back at mine. Felt as though I was looking at myself.

‎"Oh sh!t why does this fvcking b!tch have to look like me so much?!" she yelled, throwing the little gun she had in her hand across the floor

‎She seemed to be struggling too.

‎I sat, feeling exhausted. "Please let me go, I swear I wouldn't ever come back, I'm sorry for all the years I spent with him, Daniel deceived me, please let me go," I begged but she got up angrily, holding a handful of my hair with so much strength, it hurt.

‎"I'd have let you go if you were not carrying his baby! I'd have spared you if you were not pregnant! You didn't get pregnant all these years, why now! " She voiced.

‎My eyes opened wide in fright, my breath hitched —panic overwhelming my soul.

‎How did she know this?

‎"I can't let you have Daniel's seed. Daniel belongs to me! And only I will carry his heir. For that, I can't let you go!" She voiced, slowly retrieving her hand from my hair.

‎She picked up the gun, pointing it straight at my forehead. My breath seized immediately, my eyes went tightly closed, with my heart pounded hard in my chest. Waiting for the brutal pain about to engulf my being, but several seconds later nothing happened.

‎I opened my eyes slowly, meeting her gaze, she had that devious smirk.

‎"I just can't seem to shoot her, why does she have to look too much like me? Especially her eyes. Kill her by dawn." she muttered, turned around, and darted off.

‎My lungs released a breath I didn't know I was holding.

‎I craved to hold my stomach so much.

‎Even though it was still flat, a life was growing in there, I needed to tell him to hang in there for me, I needed to give it a brief warmth, that we might be fine, but my hands were tied to a chair.

‎I bit my lower lip in anguish.

‎If a miracle doesn't happen before dawn, my baby and I will be in the underworld by dawn.

‎Hot tears welled up in my eyes.

‎I looked around me, but there was nothing to help me.

‎I was stuck. We were stuck. My breath hitched, I needed to stay alive, for my baby's sake. My baby didn't have to go through this, he didn't do anything!

‎For the first time since I married Daniel and even got divorced, I closed my eyes and prayed.

‎I didn't have a religion, but I needed a miracle. My baby must live.
