Running Away

TEN YEARS AGO ( FLASHBACK )

" Mr Rayner Miller, do you take Miss Mel Brown as your loving wedded wife in sickness and in health... till death do you apart? " The priest asked in a harmonious tone.

" YES I DO!!!" Rayner replied happily looking at his wife who was eight months pregnant.

" Miss Mel Brown, do you take Mr Rayner Miller as your loving wedded husband in sickness and in health.... till death do you apart?

" YES I DO!!!" Mel replied happily looking at her husband whose face of happiness mirrored hers.

" If anyone has something to say, Speak or forever hold your peace!!" the priest said in a high tone for anyone to hear.

Evelyn from the crowd wanted to raise her hand but her mother was fast enough to stopped her.

Evelyn angrily stomped out from the church. She's the cousin of Rayner and they have been close since children. Evelyn had always thought she would be the one to marry Rayner. But not until Rayner met Mel in high school. It was love at first sight for both of them. Since then they have been together throughout their schooling.

Evelyn had tried her possible best to separate them. Even to the extent of framing Mel several times but Rayner always took Mel side.

The marriage between two prestigious family flied all over the world. Whether on the television or on the news papers. Even on the radio.

The Miller family and the Brown family couldn't be much happier.

One months later Mel gave birth to a bouncing baby boy and named him Brandon which added more happiness to both the two families. But it added more to Evelyn hatred.

When the boy was almost three months, Rayner and Mel decided to resume their donation as usual.

They went to one particular slums to donate food and groceries. Despite their High standards, they still prefer to have the donation done by themselves. Both Rayner and Mel were actually happy to have the donation done by themselves.

On the other side of the same slums lies a small house with full of gangsters downstairs.

" Akira... Akira wake up. AKIRA WAKE THE HELL UP LITTLE SIS!!" Mike who is Akira older brother tried to wake his heavy sleep sister up.

" What's wrong brother? Why are you waking me up in a whisper?" Akira asked her brother while she was stirring to wake up.

" Shhhh..... lower your voice." Mike placed a finger on his lips to get her quite.

" What's wrong Mike? You are scaring me. " Akira said to her older brother feeling scared already.

" Listen to me very carefully Akira.... take this bag, I've already packed some things you may need for the mean time. Take this money and go to the train station intersection C. You will find my girlfriend Cristal waiting for you there.... Wait for me there for at least 30 minutes. If I'm not there after 30 minutes, you have to take the train and go far away from here. Remember... NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN!!!"

Mike said in a hurry voice while he tried to help his sister out of the window.

"No Mike, I'm not leaving you here. And besides, what's all these about? Why are you make me run away?"Akira stubbornly demanded for an explanation.

" Akira listen to me for once please... There no time left. It's won't be long before they come upstairs for you." Mike pleaded with his stubborn sister who refused to leave without an explanation.

" NO MIKE!! Is either you tell me what the problem is.... or I won't leave here." Akira said firmly and sat on her bed again.

At the moment, they heard loud noises from downstairs in their house.

" FUCK THEY ARE HERE!! YOU HAVE TO LEAVE NOW AKIRA!!!" Mike said almost breaking down in frustration.

" Mike......" Akira sense the uneasiness of her brother.

Mike heaved a sigh and tried to calm down before explaining briefly to her.

" They are the thugs Dad owned in them from his gambling habit. Their boss demand for you to be his wife in replace of Dad's debt since he can pay them back. " Mike said feeling anxious and fearful for his younger sister.

"WHAT??" Akira asked almost crying. Intense fear crept in her body. A wife to a thug? Never in a million.

" That's right Akira. So you have to leave. As your older brother, I haven't been able to give you the better life you needed. I'm sorry Akira. I'm sorry this is the only way to help you out. I CAN NEVER ALLOW YOU TO MARRY ANY OF THOSE BASTARDS!!" Mike said and pulled his already crying sister for a one last time hug before kissing her forehead.

"Leave now princess. And do what I instructed you to do. Cristal already know the situation since she worked for those bastards. She will help you to a safe place. "Mike said to her in a hurry tone.

Akira took the money and placed the bag behind her back and was already climbing down the window before she remembered. What about you Mike? What about mom and dad?" Akira asked through her tears.

" We will fine Princess, As long as you are okay. Don't worry, mom and dad are aware of your departure. They really feel sorry towards you Princess..... Don't and never forget that... WE LOVE YOU AKIRA!!!" Mike said with tears when Akira was already down on the floor.

"I love you too Mike. Tell mom and dad that I love them too... So much." Akira said and took off running with a heavy heart.

What's all these happening to her all of a sudden? She was born poor and never received anything like a Princess will have. Her family though being poor made sure she had a better life and education.

Now she's only 17 years old and on a run for her dear life. "Can life have a little bit Mercy of me." Akira said through her tears whiles she kept on running. Her feets hurts badly since the old sneakers she was wearing is already torn in different ways.

She kept on running without even knowing where she was running to. All that was on her mind was, she had to get to the train station intersection C.

Out of nowhere six strong thugs appeared on her side. Three from behind her and three in front of her. Intense fear kept boiling in her veins.

" Ha!! and where do you think you are going sister in law? Your father can't pay his debt, our Big brother is generous enough to allow you to be his wife instead of killing your father. But what are you doing now? Running away? Hahaha.... did your fucking brother thought we won't know his plan? Now let's jus save the day. Come with us and we promise not to harm you. And if you refused, I can't guarantee your safety. "

One of the build up thug said with a dirty smirk on his face.

" I WILL NEVER MARRY ANY ONE OF YOU BASTARDS!!."

Akira shouted on top of her voice though she was feeling extremely scared. But she was determined not to go with them. Her brother suffered to make her run away. There's no way she's going to ruin her brother's effort.

" Oh really? Ha! Then we have no other option than to apply force on you. Since talking some fucking sense to you didn't work." Another thug from behind her snapped at her angrily.

I dare you to come closer to me.... I will kill myself if you move an inch. " Akira picked up a broken bottle on the floor and threatened them.

" Then go the fuck ahead and kill yourself. Because if we fucking get near you, I bet no one will be able to save you" the first thug spoke again with still his dirty smirk and started moving making Akira's heart stopped beating.

" AND I WILL KILL IF YOU IF YOU DARE TOUCH HER!!" A loud and manly voice came from the other side making Akira and the thugs turned their face to see who the heck the person was.

Akira saw a sinfully handsome man who was looking angry with a beautiful woman besides him holding a little baby in her hand. The sight of them was pleasant for the eyes to see.

" Who the fuck are you? "one of the thug asked sharply.
