Another day of torture, it was but then again it was their last exam.
Playing with her pen, waiting for the teacher, Leah looked back at Mia who was busy talking with her desk mate, meanwhile here she sat all mute which was not her thing at all.
She slightly glanced at Igneel who just sat beside her in silence. She wanted to talk to him but about what? "You...do you have friends?" Leah asked while getting closer to him. It was a very dumb question but the least dumb one she had in her mind.
Except for answering her, he just nodded.
"You don't like talking?" She asked and he quickly shook his head. "Then talk to me." She said with a soft smile on her face. He slowly turned his head towards her. "Your......name?" He asked and her smile widened. She thought he knew her name because every other person does. "I'm Leah...Leah Williams." She said and he nodded.
"Your name?" She asked although she knew his name. She wanted to continue the conversation before it died. "I'm...Igneel." He said. His voice was never loud. He spoke so slowly that it was hard to understand what he was saying unless she got close.
"Igneel? That's a pretty unique name." She said with a constant smile on her face, trying to make him feel comfortable. "So... what's the meaning of Igneel?" She asked but before he could answer the teacher walked into the class.
She passed a slight glare to the teacher before sitting straight on her chair. "Good luck, ... Igneel." She said with a smile and he nodded before turning his head back in front.

"Ahhhh...We are free. I'm gonna go home and read the manga." Leah said excitedly while walking downstairs with Mia who had the same feeling as Leah. She was desperate to play her video games.
"What's that crowd?" Mia said as soon as they got out of the school's building. There was a huge crowd of girls in the football playground. "Oh, must be Tobias fan girls. Gosh, what's so good about that bully?" Leah asked while rolling her eyes.
"Exactly. He makes me sick." Mia said and they both decided to ignore the fuss going on, on the other side.

Two days later*
Everyone was back from the weekend. Some gloomy, some happy, and some like Leah who doesn't even care. If it wasn't for her three friends she would be skipping school now and then.
"I'm worried about my Math exam. I might fail." Leah said while trying to solve a problem, she focused fully on the book in front of her. "Then be ready to get whooped by your mom," Mia said. "I'm more than ready," Leah said. "You are failing," Mia said while looking at Leah who was too confident that she would fail her exam.
"Heck this," Leah said and threw the pen away as she couldn't solve the problem. "Let me help," Mia said and grabbed the pen. "Oh...I woov yo----."
"Huhhhh? You couldn't get the orange flavor? Are you kidding me?"
Both Mia and Leah snapped their heads to the left side to see what was happening. Leah sat up straight once she came to know that it has to do something with Igneel. Sitting on his chair, he kept his head low.
"Huh? I can't hear you. Speak louder, loser." The fatty friend of Igneel yelled at him and raised his hand, slapping Igneel right across his cheek. Leah's eyes widened and she stood up from her chair ready to go there and rescue him without any second thought until Mia grabbed her wrist.
"Where are you going? Just sit down and mind your own business." Mia said and Leah looked back at Igneel. Her jaw clenched in anger when she saw the fatty slapping him again. Wasn't he Igneel's friend? Why is everyone just looking and no one helping? To her, all of them look like a coward and she doesn't want to be one of them.
She snatched her wrist from Mia's grip and rushed towards their desk, before the fatty could slap him again, Leah grabbed his wrist stopping him. "Huh? What?" Fatty asked Leah. Leah let go of his wrist and stood in front of Igneel's desk.
"Why are you hitting him?" Leah asked the fatty with a stern expression which was not like her at all. "I wanted orange flavor but he got me an apple one," Fatty explained. "So...you will hit him?" Leah asked and fatty raised his brows at her.
"What's your deal? He is our friend." Fatty said and Leah passed him a sarcastic smile. "Do you treat your friends like this?" Leah asked and fatty passed her a disgusting smirk of his. "He is treating us with his money. He shall bring us our favorite stuff. If not then what's the point of treating your friends?" Fatty said and Leah paused.
"His money?" Leah asked.
"Yeah...that loser is filthy rich but still a loser. If I was in his place I wouldn't be like him." Fatty said, shocking Leah even more. Igneel filthy rich? Aren't filthy rich people like Tobias? Spoiled? He is different.
"You are not his friend," Leah said and fatty hovered over her. Trying to pressurize her but she knew he didn't have the guts to. He is all talk. "So..now you will tell me who is my friend and who is not? I made him my friend because I felt sorry for him." Fatty continued on with his talk with no logic.
"No...you made him your friend for his money. Since he can't fight back. You guys take advantage of it." She said and he passed her a glare. Towering on her even more. "You talk a lot." Fatty snickered.
She stepped back and turned towards Igneel. She grabbed his stuff from the table with his bag before grabbing onto his wrist. She pulled him up and walked away with him to her desk. "Jack, will you please give this seat to Igneel?" Leah asked Jack who sits behind her.
"If you give me your notes?" Jack asked and she nodded. "I will." She said and Jack stood up with his stuff, moving to Igneel's desk. Leah put Igneel's stuff on the desk and turned towards him while still holding onto his wrist.
Since that fatty and his servants weren't in this class, they left while cursing.
"This is your new desk and those guys are not your true friends," Leah said and let go of his wrist.
She extended her right hand for him to shake.
"Let me show you what true friendship means." She said with a comforting smile on her face.
It was true that she felt sorry for him but that wasn't it. He was different and unique...she can't help but want to know him more. He just has this vibe that allures her or maybe it's her nature.
After school was over."I don't understand why you're waiting for him," Mia said while leaning against the wall with Leah who was waiting for Igneel to come out of the class. "Because he is my friend now," Leah said with a shrug. "You cannot make anyone your friend," Mia said, making Leah sigh. "Do you remember how we first met, Mia? You were just like him...well not scared but lonely." Leah said and Mia smiled."That's right. If it wasn't for you. I would still be lonely. You kept running behind me...kept meddling in my business. Never left my side no matter what others said." Mia said. Her eyes sparkled as she remembered the old days."Yes...he is worse than you...I do sympathize with him but he is alluring." Leah said while looking at Mia. "Well...I have to go to my aunt's house. I have to babysit my cousins today. I will get late if I keep waiting for him. I'll leave first." Mia said and Leah nodded. "See you tomorrow," Leah said while waving at Mia. She looked back at the door
It was one of the worst days in Leah's life until now.Gordon and Mia decided to handle the situation with fatso while on the other hand, Leah helped Igneel to reach the infirmary room. She felt extremely bad for Igneel as he limped beside her. Leah had his arm around her shoulder to support him. Only if she reached a little earlier he wouldn't be this beat up."I tried to fight back." He said in a low voice. Her eyes slightly widened before turning into sad ones in no second. He tried to fight back...just because she told him to stand up for himself. "I'm a" Before he could speak any further she poked in"You did great. You fought back against so many. It takes great courage to even talk against so many...who have no intention but just to hurt you." She said, Her voice was gentle as ever and so were her expressions. "You did too." He said and she paused. "What?" She asked while slightly raising her head to look at him. "You defended me too...yesterday." He said and her smile widene
Starting from that day...Leah did her best to make Igneel open up with her but he kept pushing her away. She felt like he wanted to be friends with her but he was hesitant. Probably trust issues? But she didn't give up. It became her habit to roam around him and Mia always was dragged along with her."God...what does he think he is? What's with this 'hard to get ' type of attitude?" Mia asked while rolling her eyes. "It's not hard to get. He is just hesitant." Leah said as both of them entered their classroom. "I'm telling you...stop wasting your time. If you put this much focus on your math exam...you will top the school." Mia said and Leah chuckled as both of them settled down on their respective chairs. "Oh, stop exaggerating," Leah said and looked behind at the empty desk. He was late today...so unlikely of him."Mia..." Leah called Mia as she put her head on the desk. "Hmm." Mia turned toward her once she heard Leah calling her. "What could be the reason for this attitude of his
"Igneel...do I look like a pushover to you?" She asked while taking a bite of her chicken sandwich. He slowly turned his head to his left side to look at Leah who just ate her sandwich, waiting for his reply. "No." He said. His voice wasn't low. She swore it was the second time today...she felt shivers running down her spine once she heard his voice again. She never knew a teenager could have such a deep voice. The girls here will fall for his voice. Is that the reason he doesn't speak? "You're not a pushover." He said and she smiled. "I'm glad to know that." She said and turned to look at him. Her eyes widened once she realized he was too close...in fact, she was sitting too close to him. She slowly moved away and took out the medicine from her pocket once she realized that he finished his sandwich."Here, have this medicine." She handed him the medicine and he quietly took it. "Thank you." He whispered under his breath and she nodded. Both of them flinched once they heard rustling
That day... was the beginning of their friendship. All three of them went to Mia's house. Her parents were at work and they probably came late. They plopped down in her living room and started to study as planned. It was the very first time Leah saw Igneel speaking more than a line. Because he was teaching her math. She was surprised at how good he was in math and she clearly understood him. "Ahh...I'm tired and hungry. Why don't we guys wrap up for today and cook something for ourselves?" Leah asked while packing her stuff. Mia on the other hand nodded in agreement. "Let's cook," Mia said and stood up. They both looked at Igneel. "What would you like to eat, Igneel?" Leah asked Igneel who was quietly sitting beside her. "Anything," Igneel said while looking up at Mia. Leah smiled and stood up too. "I knew, you weren't picky. Let's make sandwiches." Leah said while clapping her hands together."Do...you like sandwiches?" Igneel asked while looking up at Leah. His voice wasn't low an
It was another day but with each other...it didn't feel like torture anymore. They should have met a lot earlier. "Say...have you guys started preparing for the college entrance exam?" Leah asked while sucking on her popsicle as she walked between Igneel and Mia as usual. They were making their way out of the school. "Um...I told you before...I will be taking over my grandpa's cafe once I graduate." Mia said and Leah nodded. Both of them turned their heads to look at Igneel. "I'm...gonna take a year break," Igneel said in his usual low voice. Leah pouted and took a big bite of her popsicle. "I want a break too...my parents are so pushy." She said while shaking her head. "What major will you take?" Igneel asked and Leah rubbed her chin. "Probably psychology...I love psychology. Thank God my parents aren't against it." Leah said and Mia nodded. All of a sudden Igneel fell to the ground while grabbing his hand from behind. A basketball rolled down beside him indicating that he was hit
Today, the first period was PT.Everyone was changing into their PT outfit. "I'm waiting for you outside," Leah told Mia as she walked out of the changing room after changing into her PT outfit. She put her elbows on the railing and looked toward the basketball ground. She narrowed her eyes once she saw Tobias practicing among them."Loser." She whispered under her breath while eyeing him. She lashed her gaze away from him. Her expression lightened once she saw Igneel making his way toward the building. She was about to tell his name as she raised her arm to wave at him but she paused midway when she saw something in his hands. She lowered her arm and keenly looked at the bouquet-like stuff in his hand. Her eyes widened and her heartbeat fastened once she saw a bouquet of white Camellia in his hands.A BOUQUET OF CAMELLIA. He brought it for her.She couldn't believe what she was seeing. She put her hand on her chest to calm her heartbeat. Why was her heart beating so fast? He rememb
"I promise."He said and she smiled. He kept caressing her right cheek...his touch was so gentle and tender...she was at the peak of closing her eyes and leaning into his touch. "Are you confessing?" She snickered while joking and looked up at him. She paused once her hazel orbs met his gray ones. The look he had in his eyes forced her to gulp. She can feel her heartbeat getting faster. She lashed her gaze away once she realized they were staring into each other's eyes for quite a while now. "So...uh...we need to do something about that fatty. I've told Mia to take Gordon and go to the principal office. We need to complain about that fatso." As soon as Leah said that, Igneel grabbed her shoulders tightly. She frowned and looked up at him. He had a huge frown on his face. It was the first time she saw him frowning like this. Did she do something wrong?"You shouldn't have." He said and her eyes narrowed. "Why? So they can continue to bully you? It's enough." She asked and he shook his
