Ava’s POV

“I don’t know what your plan is but I’ll be honest with you as your only friend in the pack, Ava. You’re fucking delusional if you’re planning on going ahead with this idea of yours.”

I let out a groan as I glared at Rayne. She was my oldest friend and we’ve stuck together ever since we met at a rally. She was supposed to be on my side but she was openly taking the Alpha brother’s side much to my dismay.

“Come on, Rayne. I don’t expect this from you, you’re supposed to be looking out for me.” I said.

“And that’s what I’m trying to do here, Ava. We both had tough times growing up and this is supposed to be your big break to having a better life and you want to throw it all away and for what?” Rayne retorted.

“You’re not looking at the bigger picture,” I argued, trying to change her mind.

“Okay, fine. Tell me what’s so difficult about being the Luna of the pack, Ava?” Rayne sounded exasperated at this point and I couldn’t blame her.

“The cons far outweigh the pros and I

Wayland’s POV“You’re out of your mind, James,” I yelled at him. “Why the hell would you bring that up after everything that has happened?” “I haven’t heard you come up with any bright ideas, Jake.” James retorted, his eyes blazing. “All you do is brood and stay silent while we rack our brains trying to figure out how to save your birthright.” “James,” Jason began, trying to ease the tension in the room. “I think we’re taking this a little bit too far, don’t you think?” James ran his hands through his tousled hair. “Look, I’m only trying to help here. If you have any other bright ideas, I’m open to hearing them.”He sounded defeated at this point and I understood how he felt even if I didn’t agree with his current decision. “This can’t be the only option we’ve got, brothers.” I began. “Have you thought about the repercussions of what that would cost us?” “I don’t think we should give a damn about what people would think right now, Jake.” James cut in. “They don’t have anything to

Wayland’s POVI hated it when he started talking like this. I wondered if his drugs were making him delirious and I made a mental note to speak with his doctors about it. “I’m not rooting for you boys to fail but in the face of impending doom, I need to have a second option to protect our legacy,” Father replied. “We’re your sons, father. The heirs to your throne, what other option would you seek when you have not one or two but three of us?” I was getting frustrated but I was managing to keep a tight lid on it. “You and your brothers are my blood and my heirs. Yes, I know that!” Father’s voice rose several octaves. “I formed you all with your mother and I’ve never denied you anything but desperate times call for desperate measures and I am at the end of the rope here.” “I’ve always nursed this thought at the back of my mind for years now but never did I think it would come to fruition.”“You’re speaking in parables, Father,” Jason said this time. “You have to make us understand w

  • Her Triplet Alpha’s Game   Chapter 23

Wayland’s POVIt’s been a couple of months now since Ava ran away from the pack right before our engagement ceremony without so much as a word or a letter to explain her actions and so much had happened between that incident and now. My brothers and I tried to figure out what could’ve happened to her so in silence, we searched the pack but we couldn’t find her. We made arrests, carried out grueling investigations but we never found her. After a couple of more tries, we completely abandoned the search and moved on with our lives — or so we thought. I had believed that it would be easier to find a new mate but I couldn’t have been more wrong. We had scoured the country hoping to find the right woman to carry on the Wayland’s lineage with but our search was fruitless. Ella came crawling back after she heard about Ava’s disappearance and despite our best attempts to make it happen, we wouldn’t bring ourselves to speak the bond words and claim her to be our mate. Neither of their other

Ava’s POV“For how long have you been having these nightmares?” Lukan asked coolly. I wasn’t sure I’ve ever seen him rattled and it was amazing that he always managed to keep his head no matter what. “It’s been happening for a week now and each time, I’ve tried not to make anything of it but the repeated sequence is starting to get to me and I’m worried about what this might mean in the future.” I said. My biggest fear has been running into any of the Wayland brothers at some point in the future when I wasn’t ready to face them and it was why I was working my ass off to reinvent myself by any means necessary. “The Wayland brothers can’t come here unauthorized, Ava. And I don’t see why I should extend them an invitation in the first place. I trust everyone here and I’m sure that they’ll keep the news of your presence here to themselves. So basically, you have nothing to worry about.” I nodded, suddenly feeling serenaded by his words as peace washed over me. He was right after all,

Ava’s POVThe days that followed after the revelation turned out to be better than I had initially expected it to be. The weight of pain that had once rested heavily on my shoulders had begun to ease up and with time, it also began to fade away with the wind. Having been discarded and forced to leave everything and everyone I had known didn’t feel so bad anymore. I was determined to forge a new path for myself with the help of the new friends I had made in a place I had come to see as my new home. Luciana and Lukan helped me to become familiar with the people and I was grateful to have them. Being a new wolf in a new pack wasn’t an easy feat and trying to blend into the new surroundings was harder than I ever realized. Lukan had urged me to join his pack on a hunt once and despite my initial reluctance, I figured a moment outside would bode well for me and my unborn child. “You need to start leaving the house often, Ava. You’re pregnant and not handicapped.” Luciana had said and h

Ava’s POVI bit down hard on my lips drawing blood as the wolfsbane laced with silver whip came down on my bare back. I felt my skin rip open with a new wound as the whip came down on my back again and again, this time, leaving an injury worse than the previous one. “Should we keep on going? I’m taking so much pleasure in doing this. I can do this for the rest of your life if I decide to.” His laugh was cold and empty, sending chills down my spine. “You should learn to answer when I’m talking to you, Ava. I am your father after all and you’re bound to obey me. Isn’t that right?” He didn’t wait for me to get the words out of my mouth before he brought the whip down again and this time I couldn’t hold it any longer as I yelled in pain and agony as I failed in holding myself together. I’ve often promised myself not to give him the satisfaction of seeing me cry anytime I was being whipped but today, I failed. The tears I’ve been struggling to rein in stung my eyes harshly as they roll
