Chapter Six

Reece Morgan

" Reece help me!" I heard her scream. My eyes snapped open and I found myself lying beside the crushed car, her voice was so close. I crawled to the broken window and looked in, all I could see was their dead bodies.

I screamed and cried," no! no! don't leave me! I'm sorry I'm so sorry!" I yelled but they were already gone. I felt as if my heart was being ripped out if my chest.

I felt myself being pulled away from the window, I looked up and met my father's cold eyes. " This is all your fault" he said coldly, I shook my head," no I didn't know, I'm sorry ,I'm so sorry" I whispered but he just turned and walked away leaving me to drown in the pain.....

"Reece...Reece wake up" I felt someone shaking me to conciousness. I opened my eyes quickly and sat up. I looked around, I was in my room and my two best friends Jason and Severn were staring at me with concerned expressions.

I stretched and got out of the bed, " what time is it?" I asked " past eight" Severn said with a shrug, " we're late" I stated they both shrugged and left the room. I need new friends, I went into the bathroom , brushed and showered. The dream I had came to my mind, I've been having those dreams ever since the dreadful incident that happened ten years ago. It always haunted me and was a constant reminder that I'm alone.

I pushed all thoughts away and went into my closet. I slipped on some dark ripped jeans,a grey shirt and a black hoodie then I wore my grey air max.and went downstairs only to find those two idiots eating my last cereal. " Seriously guys? that's my last cereal" I said. " So ?" Jason asked, "what am I supposed to eat?" I asked in fustration.

He shrugged, I grabbed his bowl and drank the whole thing. " Hey that's not fair!" He whined, Severn chuckled and continued eating his cereal. I went to the kitchen to get a bottle of water.

" You didn't even take his own" he said in disbelief.

" That's because I'm more loved" Severn said smugly. " Nah, you need it more than he does" I said and watched him narrow his eyes at me. " What do you mean?" He asked. Jason burst into fits of annoying laughter, " he means my sweet baby that you're skinny" Jason said.

Severn tackled Jason off the kitchen stool and I watched them wrestle, funny. " Okay kids time for school" I said, "school, learning, hurray!" Severn chirped from where Jason had him in a head lock. " Jason let go of your brother" I joked, " yes mom" he said and let go of Severn.

Then we started laughing at ourselves. " Come on everybody to the mystery machine" Severn said and ran out if the house. " I call shot gun!" Jason yelled as he ran after Severn. Some times I wonder if they're really in highschool. I grabbed my phone and keys before walking out of the house and locking the door.

I turned around only to collide with Jason who was pushed by Severn. " I got here first" Severn said, " but I called it first" Jason whined. I rolled my eyes at the two of them, " Jason you sat there yesterday" I said,just then a Mercedes Benz CLA 250 zoomed past us and stopped in front of Jennifer's house.

"Woah" Severn gushed at the beautiful machine. Jason scoffed and said" Amaya Clayton" I looked at him as he glared at the car. Suddenly the car door flew open and Amaya jumped out, her blonde hair bouncing around her. She ran to the front door and started shouting Jenny's name.

" She's a crazy person" Jason muttered to himself but I heard it, I moved to the drivers side and got in, Severn entered the front seat while Jason settled at the back. Just then Jenny came out wearing a blank face, her brown hair falling in a sea of waves and her eyes so dead. I started my car and backed out of the driveway all the time looking at her. Amaya was asking her something but she just turned her face in my direction.

We kept staring at each other, I kept my face as emotionless as ever. Her face contoured pain and hurt, Amaya turned in our direction with a slight from. Then her glare landed on me, she was about to walk to where we were parked but Jennifer being annoyingly good and the peace maker she held her friend back.

I hit the accelerator and zoomed down the road. A new form of anger towards Jennifer consumed me. I hate you Jennifer Greene for making me this way.

Jennifer Greene

This morning was just like the last, I and Amaya got to school late but no detention. Thank God today was Friday, once I get home, I'm going to sleep till God knows. " Jen are you sure you're fine?" Amaya asked worriedly, I nodded, " then talk to me, your silence is killing" she pleaded.

I turned my book to the last page and wrote; he did it again. She frowned after reading it but then realisation hit her," that son of a bitch" she muttered and slammed her fists on the table, some people turned while others ignored us. I shook my head at him, " you need to stop letting him do this to you"" it's not that easy Amy" I mumbled. She sighed but said nothing.

Soon class was over so we went our separate classes. I took a seat by the window as usual, nobody sat next to me as usual thanks to Reece, he made it that way. Speaking of the devil, he walked in with Severn. I looked out of the window to avoid any eye contact with him.

I heard the seat directly behind me screech. God please, I prayed silently, soon the teacher walked in and lessons began, " today we're talking about...." I drowned him out. The thought of how my life would be without Reece in it invaded my mind.

Why can't he just let me be in peace? What does he gain from bullying me? I'm so tired of life, why can't I just have the life I wanted? How does it feel to be happy again? I don't even know because I lost my happiness a long time ago.

" Miss Greene" I heard the teacher call, I blinked and looked at him. " Are you okay?" " Yes sir" I muttered " then why are you crying?" He asked. I frowned and touched my cheek, that's when I felt the wetness. I quickly wiped the tears, " it happens sir" I lied he nodded and continued teaching but people still stared, so I turned back to the window.

Suddenly, my phone vibrated. I pulled it out of my bag, one new message from Amaya. I opened it; 'something happened to Grandma, we're going to her place, I'll be back in two weeks okay? Am so sorry,Love you :-*' - Amy, it read.

I felt the color drain from my face, ' be careful, love you too', I replied quickly before putting the phone down and slumping in my seat. I felt as if something left me, just the a memory flashed through my mind

" Paige Samson?" We stopped playing and Paige went to meet the teacher. " Your mom is waiting for you at the reception, get your bag and go meet her" she said. Paige collected her bag and told us goodbye. " Don't worry, I'll be back" she said and left. But she never came back that was the last time I saw her.

Grrrrrrrr. The bell rang for third period, how long did I zone out. I packed my bag and walked out of the class. " Did you hear? Amaya left"" really?" Some girls said as I passed by them, " poor thin she's doomed that's for sure" another group of girls said as I passed by them. I felt... nothing, " well well well, if it isn't little miss lonely" I heard Kenzie say from behind me , I ignored her and continued walking.

" What's wrong honey? Where is wonder woman?, Oh! It's true I heard she left, poor baby...no one's gonna save you now" she said in mockery. I stopped at my locker and opened it but it slammed shut in my face. I looked at the blonde girl beside me,her brown eyes glittering with mischief.

" What do you want Kenzie?" I asked blankly. She smirked, " I want...you to suffer" she said and pushed me backwards,I lost my balance and fell on my butt. I winced at the impact, she pulled at my hair but I didn't make a sound. She slapped me, but I didn't cry out, I just let her do it.

" Why aren't you making a sound?!"she screeched angrily. I looked up at her and chuckled," because you aren't worth it" I said, " you can hit me however you want but I will never ever cry because of you Mackenzie" I called her full name.

She screeched and raised her hand to hit me, I closed my eyes and waited for the impact but nothing came, I opened my eyes to find Reece standing in front of me and holding Kenzie's hand. People started whispering and mumbling, while I just stared shocked at him. Kenzie stared at him in disbelief," what are you doing?" She asked him. " What does it look like I'm doing?" he asked " you're protecting her?" She spat with venom.

He dropped Kenzie's hand gently, " no I'm saving you from trouble" he said to her, "but-""if you lay a finger on her you'll get in trouble and I think she's had enough for today" he said. Of course he'd never stand up for me, he's a monster. Kenzie nodded then brought her gaze back to me and glared before walking away.

" Okay every body back to class"Severn ordered and everyone left. I got off the floor and picked up my bag, then I turned and started limping away from them. They were saying something but I couldn't hear them cause, I was weak and tired . My body was aching badly, my head was throbbing and I was struggling to stay concious.

I heard their retreating footsteps, I swayed a bit, my ears started ringing. I fell to my knees," no not now, I n-need to get home " I whispered and tried to stand but I fell back again.

You're alone.

You're worthless.

Nobody wants a mistake like you.

Your parents don't even want you.

Everybody hates you.

Nobody needs you.

You're useless.

" Stop" I whimpered.

You're weak.

You can't fight for yourself.

The world doesn't need a weakling like you.

Why don't you just die?

I let out a sob and slowly let the darkness consume me. Maybe when they all come out if their classrooms and see my dead body they'll be happy, maybe my parents would also be glad that I'm gone. Amaya would finally have all her friends back.

" Jennifer!"I heard someone yell but I ignored it and laid on the floor, the person knelt down beside m and shook me. But I couldn't see, I was too weak. " We need to get her to the hospital" another person said.

" No leave me, let me go... Maybe if I go he'll be happy, Reece will be happy again" I whispered and let the darkness consume me totally.
