And the shock didn’t end there because the children growing inside her were not her husband’s. They belonged to Valerio Alcázar, a ruthless billionaire who would stop at nothing to protect his empire. “I can handle this on my own. I don’t need your protection!” Camilla snapped. “And yet you keep putting yourself in danger. Not with our twins inside you,” he replied. He wants control. She wants freedom. Neither will back down. But when danger closes in, Camilla realizes the man she fears may be the only one who can keep her and her unborn children safe. Will she outwit the dangerous billionaire or will he control everything she holds dear?
ดูเพิ่มเติมCamilla sat in the passenger seat, one hand resting on her purse while the other traced slow circles over the fabric of her dress.
She smiled when she saw the fertility clinic come into view. She didn’t know why, but something about today made her feel at ease.
She turned to her husband, Leandro with her big smile still etched on her face.
“So… you’re coming in with me, right?” she said, hopeful.
Leandro’s grip on the steering wheel tightened for a second before he relaxed.
“I actually need to go to the office now. Something urgent came up,” he replied.
Her smile faltered slightly. “Oh. I thought you could accompany me. You went home so late last night and said you finished all your work so you could be with me now.”
“Oh, come on, Camilla,” Leandro said, a little irritated. “I’m going to take over the company soon, so I have to make sure everything’s well. Also, it’s not like there’s something big going on. You’re just going there for a checkup, right?”
Camilla nodded, forcing the disappointment down.
“Yeah. I just thought… I’m sorry. You can go now. Take care.”
She leaned over to kiss him, but he avoided her and glanced at his phone. Camilla was shocked but Leandro didn’t care.
“I’m going now. You can get out of the car.”
And so she did. She watched him drive away before turning toward the clinic. She told herself not to overthink it. Leandro had been busy lately. That didn’t mean he didn’t care.
As soon as she was inside, Camilla checked in at the front desk, her heart beating faster with every step she took down the hallway. A nurse greeted her and led her into a small consultation room.
They sat across from each other as the nurse pulled up her file.
“You’re here for your post-transfer results.”
“Yes,” Camilla said.
The nurse nodded. “So two embryos were transferred during your last cycle. We’ve been monitoring your hormone levels since then.”
“I followed everything exactly. The injections, the rest, all of it.” Camilla clasped her hands together.
“I can see that,” The nurse said while smiling gently. “And it paid off.”
She turned the screen toward Camilla.
“These levels confirm a successful implantation. You’re pregnant.”
Camilla sucked in a sharp breath. “I am?!”
“Yes. Congratulations.”
Her eyes burned instantly. “I don’t even know what to say.”
“We’ll need to keep a close eye on things,” the nurse continued. “With in vitro fertilization, there’s always a chance of multiples, especially since two embryos were transferred. It’s too early to confirm how many, but it’s something to be aware of.”
Camilla nodded, still stunned. “I understand.”
She left the clinic feeling light, her hand pressed protectively over her stomach. She imagined telling Leandro. The way he would look at her. The way this would fix everything that had felt off between them lately.
Instead of going home, she took a cab to his office. She wanted to tell him in person.
At the reception desk, the woman looked her over from head to foot as Camilla approached.
“Oh… who are you?”
Of course, they didn’t know her as Leandro’s wife. They knew Leandro Vega was married, but he had never made it public to “protect” her. Camilla had believed him, thinking it was really for her.
“Hi,” Camilla said cheerfully. “Is Leandro free?”
“Do you have an appointment?” the receptionist asked sharply.
“Uh… I won’t take long. I just want to say something to him. I am his… wife.”
A slight shock crossed the woman’s face. She hesitated and glanced toward the hallway, then back at Camilla.
“Maybe you should call first.”
“It’s a surprise,” Camilla said, smiling. “I can go now, right? I’ll go to his office…”
The woman didn’t know what to say, so Camilla took it as a sign to go. She even heard the woman calling her, but she was too excited and stepped into the elevator.
Thank God she had come here before they married, it made it easier for her to navigate the place.
When the elevator opened on Leandro’s office floor, someone hurried after her.
“Hey, miss, wait. Who are you? Are you going to Mr. Vega’s office?”
Camilla stopped, noticing how nervous the man looked.
“Is something wrong?” she asked, confused.
“It’s just… maybe this isn’t a good time.”
Camilla frowned but stepped past him. “I’ll be quick.”
She walked toward the office, wondering where her husband’s secretary, Bianca Rocha, was. If she were here, she would probably help her. Bianca was one of the few who knew she was Leandro’s wife, she had even been there during the wedding.
Oh, maybe she’s on a break, Camilla thought.
She was about to open the door when she heard something.
“Aaaahhh, fuck! L-Leandro! Don’t bite there, it’ll mark…” a woman’s voice drifted through the door.
Camilla froze and her body stiffened. She had meant to knock, she had even raised her hand, but the voices inside stopped her completely.
“Come on… that’s okay…”
That was Leandro’s voice. She was sure of it.
“And then what? I let you mark me and then I can’t even mark you because of your stupid wife?”
“Then mark me…” he replied.
“Ooohhh. That’s new. So you’ve given up on Camilla… your dear wife?” the woman asked softly.
Camilla walked into their house with her mind still in a haze and her chest tight, as though the air itself refused to fill her lungs. She didn’t want to be here. This house was full of memories, reminding her of everything. Every wall, every corner screamed Leandro and what he had done. She had come here for her things. Grab them and leave. That was the plan. She didn’t want to see him. She didn’t want to see her life turned into a cage of reminders of what she had lost. The moment she opened the door, a sound froze her blood. The soft, familiar laugh of Bianca. And then Leandro’s deep chuckle beneath it.Them again? They were in the living room. She could hear their flirtatious remarks, the teasing tone, the kind of intimate banter that made her skin crawl.“You know we’re finally free now. I don’t think your wife will bother us anymore. Damn, if only you could see her pained face earlier,” Bianca purred, her tone low and teasing.Leandro laughed at that.“Let’s not talk about her a
Who doesn’t know the Alcázars? In this city, mentioning that name alone was enough to make rooms fall silent. The Alcázar Group wasn’t just powerful; it was untouchable. A corporate empire built on steel, finance, technology, and international investments that stretched far beyond the country. They didn’t follow rules. They rewrote them.Everyone knew that. Camilla knew that. The moment the name left Ms. Alvarez’s lips, something sharp rang inside Camilla’s head.Valerio Alcázar. That name wasn’t unfamiliar. And although she doesn’t really know who the man is, she knew how much power that name holds. Her husband’s company had once desperately tried to affiliate with the Alcázar Group. She remembered the countless late nights Leandro spent pacing their bedroom, talking about how one signature from an Alcázar could elevate his company into a completely different league.“He doesn’t even attend negotiations,” Leandro once scoffed bitterly. “He sends people to reject you. That’s how power
Camilla walked without direction. Her heels had long stopped hurting. She wasn’t even sure how long she had been walking, only that her legs kept moving while her mind stayed trapped in that office. She had nowhere to go.She couldn’t return to their house. That place no longer felt like home. Every corner would remind her of him. The walls would scream betrayal. So she kept walking. She didn’t know how she ended up at the park. She just needed somewhere open, somewhere that didn’t suffocate her chest. She sat down on an empty bench as her shoulders slumped and her hands trembled, so she pressed them against her thighs. Her tears finally fell. It was silent at first, then harder, until it became a sob.She was alone. All her plans were now gone. Just… just how hard can this be.Then suddenly, her phone rang. The sound made her flinch. She hastily wiped her cheeks, brushing away the tears with the back of her hand as she pulled the phone from her bag. Her vision was still blurred when
“H-How can you do this to me?!” Camilla’s voice shook as she stepped back. Her whole body felt frozen, like she had walked into a nightmare that wouldn’t end.Leandro didn’t flinch. His eyes met hers coldly like she was already a stranger. “Camilla… why are you here?” he asked plainly. The shock few seconds ago now completely gone.“You bastard! You are fucking cheating and the first thing you ask me why I am here? Why? You dont want me to be here so I wouldnt know your cheating?!”Leandro massaged the bridge of his nose like Camilla is stressing him out.“Well now you saw it. Might as well end it here. Our marriage… it’s done. I’ve moved on.”Her chest tightened. “Moved on? You… you mean… you’ve already—”“Yes,” he interrupted, like it was the simplest fact in the world. “I can’t pretend I feel the same way I once did. I tried but I’m done. That’s it.”Camilla felt her stomach drop. “D-Done?” she whispered as her voice cracked. “After everything… none of it mattered to you?”He shr
