A New School Year (1)
{Rose's POV} I took a deep breath before slinging my backpack over my shoulder. This was it. This was the first day of senior year of high school. I vowed to not let anybody, nor anything, get in the way of me finally having a great school year. And that included Jax, the guy that had been bullying me since early elementary school. I wasn't actually sure why Jax chose me to be the focus of his bullying, but I was the main person he would consistently bully. Granted, everyone in school was afraid of him, mostly because he was in line to be Alpha soon. My lineage was nothing notable, I never did anything to stand out, and as far as I was aware, I had done nothing to him personally to earn his ire. Yet,

Attack (2)
{Jax's POV} {Flashback} I ran through the back door into the backyard with Pat on my tail. Pat had just turned 4 just over a week ago. Giggles had erupted from both of us as we ran towards the pool. I scrambled to the edge and leapt in, making a big splash which soaked Pat who let out a squeal before jumping in after me. Suddenly I felt uneasy, like somebody was watching me. I held up my hand to Pat and put a finger to my lips. Since we were so young we weren't able to mindlink yet, you could start mindlinking after you got your wolf. Kids generally began getting their wolves around 12. I looked around nervously while treadin

Interesting Year (3)
{Present} I took a deep breath and closed my eyes before getting out of my car. Finally the last year of school, the last year of having to be near Rose. Maybe I would be able to scare her out of the pack when I became Alpha. The therapy mom has made me start getting was helping me understand my trauma, but it was still there. “Come on Pat, please hurry. I don't have patience for this right now.” I grumbled at my brother, who had rode along with me. He had dropped his pen under the passenger seat. It was just a pen, for Goddess' sake! Pat looked up at me apologetically. “I'm sorry Jax, but it's my lucky pen, just give me a moment.”

Will I Heal (4)
I was pacing in Lisa's office, feeling aggravated just thinking about everything that had happened today. I had successfully gotten a meeting set up with her, that was one of the good things about my status' privilege. I had just finished telling her about the things that had happened first. She poked and prodded in order to get me to try to grasp the ways I was feeling in a way I could try to understand those feelings. “I'm kind of scared. This thing about her scent, about me being drawn to her... Did the Goddess make her my mate just to spite me?” Lisa leaned back in thought. “Well, consider this. Rose truly has not done anything wrong to you. Maybe, if she is your mate, the Goddess is trying to help

An Intense Moment (5)
{Rose's POV} I hoped today would go better than yesterday. I couldn't believe how derailed the whole day had gotten. Today was supposed to be the beginning of a great year, yet Jax was relentless. I hopped out of my car just as Lily arrived. She hopped off Baby and smiled at me. “New day! Let's dominate today!” She said cheerfully, clapping me on my shoulder. I smiled at her before getting distracted by the red car that parked on the other side of mine. Jax and Pat. I hadn't even realized they rode in together, though I guess it made sense. After Jax parked he looked directly at me for a moment, before looking at Pat to say something. Pat looked over at me now, then back at Jax.

Unsteady Walls (6)
{Jax's POV} All things considered, I actually hadn't given much thought to my potential mate before this school year. I had so much going on between therapy, education, training, and helping out at home, my future mate was the last thing on my mind. I knew it was popular to fantasize about your potential mate, do think about all the coming sensations and the unimaginable connection with another person. And since my future mate would be Luna, there would also be the hope of a strong, kind, loyal, and trustworthy partner. But I never had the time nor energy to think about these things, and I wasn't sure if I was ever going to care. That is, until I encountered Rose this school year. Suddenly e

That Was Interesting (7)
{Rose's POV} Lily and I walked over to our lockers in silence. We weren't exactly sure what to say at this point. What had just happened was strange and intense. I was really confused and I still felt a little bit tingly. We put our stuff in our lockers in silence still, both of us stunned beyond words. I still wasn't sure what had just happened. When he had pulled me over to him, I completely expected violence of some kind. Not that. Not that intense stare-down. Before then I had never noticed that his eyes were a leafy green, close to my wolf's emerald green eyes. The color was quite complimentary to his sandy blond hair that was just a few inches long and rather shaggy.

The Thing About You (8)
I basically coasted through my next class deep in thought and when I got to my next class I sat down next to Lily, still feeling kind of distant. She leaned over and whispered in my ear. “Nothing happened last class.” I knew what she was referring to. Jax was in her last class. Even without the weirdness it was normal for us to share what happens regarding him because he was such a bully toward me. But now, now it felt even more important. We were pretty quiet after class, and we ended up going our separate ways pretty quietly because I was still frustrated with Cass, feeling frustrated with myself, and I felt weird around Lily for some reason. My next class went by in a complete blur as well, and as I

Corn Chips (9)
{Jax's POV}Me and Pat were talking animatedly as Pat pushed the cart and I put in groceries, leading the way through the store. We were in the dairy section getting milk when I felt my body stiffen in alarm. This was quickly getting familiar. As her sent hit my nose I knew without a doubt that she had just walked into the store. She really smells amazing! Luca howled excitedly. You're right, but be quiet! I halfheartedly chided my wolf. “She's here.” I whispered very quietly to Pat.He went quiet and shot me a concerned look. A wild thought came over me and it was like I lost control of my own actions. I started making my way over to where she was. I watche

Market (10)
{Rose's POV}I fell back as I crashed into Jax, shock coursing through my entire system as I dropped the bag of pretzels. In a flash of movement he caught the bag midair, and held it out to me as I looked up at him completely stunned. He seemed frozen in shock. How could he just be directly behind her, facing her, like that? Why was he so close to begin with? And now he's standing there like a crazy person holding the bag of pretzels out to me like I hadn't just full on crashed into him.Years and years of him tormenting me, being needlessly aggressive towards me for far less, being harsh and rude and mean to me, and in the past two days, he went from slamming me into my locker simply for existing, to ap
