LOGINAlina’s POV
“I… I didn’t know it was you” I mumbled as my eyes darted around the room in search of any hint or sign that I wasn’t dreaming. I hadn’t been this shocked since I had seen her, something was pulling right into the past. He stared at me and then he tried to come closer. “Are you alright?” I recoiled too quickly “I am fine” It wasn’t the truth, but I wanted him to believe it. He mustn’t see how scared I was. “It’s just a bit strange.” He smiled slightly, taking another step forward “You don’t need to be afraid. You are safe now.” I moved backward again “Can you … can you please move back?” His proximity made my stomach turn into a tight knot of nerves. He froze for a minute, so quickly that I thought maybe I had imagined it but soon he moved back. “Right” he murmured, nodding his head “Of course.” He stepped away from me. “Let me know if you need anything” and with that he disappeared. Leaving me standing there, in the same spot that he had been seconds ago. My breathing was coming out in shallow gasps. I didn’t understand what was happening to me, why was it happening so fast? I had gone to work earlier than usual because I really wanted to get out of the house before things started changing again. I could barely handle my nightmares on my own. I didn't want his family drama to add onto my stress levels when everything seemed to be falling apart around me. The last thing I needed were reminders of what had happened to me before. So while I waited for the others to arrive, I took a little nap. “Are you fine ma?” Clara asked when she finally showed up. “Yes, why?” I replied, forcing a smile on my face as I picked up my bag that had fallen off the chair where we sat waiting to go to class. She frowned at me, obviously not buying my story, and I sighed internally. “I've been worried about you for the past two days. Is everything okay? Did you get enough sleep last night?” Her voice was concerned and laced with concern, as if she expected my answer to change after all these moments of silence. I nodded, feeling a surge of guilt rise up inside me. “Everything is fine, thank you.” If only I could make myself believe those words, they’d make it so easy to leave all of the bad memories behind. “You can talk to me if you want ma” Clara offered softly as she squeezed my arm tightly “Don’t forget that.” “Stop it! Stop it! I said I am fine okay? ” I yelled back at her, suddenly furious that she didn’t seem to grasp the fact that she was I was in the midst of my distress. “I don’t need your help. Don't you think for once that you can rub shoulders with me or we are some sort of best buddies simply because you are my assistant.” She flinched at my outburst, stepping back as if physically pushed back by my rage. I felt a wave of shame at making her feel such discomfort and quickly regretted my words. “Clara I…” I started, reaching out towards her “Look I am sorry if I came across as…I mean, I didn’t mean to yell at you…I just..” “You are right” she cut off my apology “We aren’t friends, that’s not right. What we are doing isn’t real. We are just acting. You are my employer and I should know my place” Her tone was cold, detached, her body language screamed that she was trying hard to hide the hurt and betrayal that I had caused. “I am sorry, I should go.” She quickly added in a rush, before disappearing through closed doors. My shoulders slumped with defeat. I felt so bad that I couldn’t even comfort her. It wasn’t like her to act like that, she was usually the one who would comfort me whenever anything was upsetting me. This time it was completely different, I had pushed her away and she didn’t know how to react. l left the office earlier, I couldn't focus and I needed some fresh air. When I exited the building I immediately started walking aimlessly until I found the park. I walked over to a nearby bench. I needed to relax my thoughts, maybe take a few deep breaths, before returning to the company. “Alina” “You are stalking me now?” It took an embarrassingly large amount of effort to keep my voice steady and level but thankfully I managed to do so. “I just wanted to talk to you” He sounded sad almost. It was fake. “About what?” “Us” I could hear him sigh. “I love you, Alina” he continued “So much, and I just don’t understand what has happened to us. Everything is different now, there is a barrier between us and I don’t understand why.” I blinked “What?” He sighed again “I just don’t get why this is happening, why we are being separated. Why do we no longer live together?” “You caused this, you cheated on me. You left me when I needed you the most , you lied to my face and you betrayed my trust.” I heard a noise of frustration “I am sorry. I am really so sorry. I never meant to hurt you. You have to believe that!” “There is nothing I can forgive!” I shouted, unable to hold back the anger that boiled within me. “All you did was sleep with other girls. And I should be grateful for that?” I turned to leave, but Victor pulled me back. “Where do you think you are going?” His voice was menacingly low, his fingers and hold dug into my wrist like a vice “Tell me where you are going” his grip on me tightened. The air rushed out of me in one big whoosh “You are hurting me.” It came out strangled as I tried to breathe. His only grew tighter. He let go of me, taking a step back “Sorry, I shouldn’t… I didn’t mean to do that…” I stood there frozen, my chest was heaving and sweat poured down my face. The whole scene was unreal.Alina’s POV“What if it was him?” that voice echoed in my mind, causing me to look up and look around me, I was alone and lost in my thoughts.I shivered involuntarily.I didn't understand where that question even came from. But the voices in my head were active. “Alina, are you even listening to me?” One snapped, pulling further into my thoughts.“Who?” I asked, confused. I knew who it asked for, and I knew what it was talking about but trust me when I say no one wanted their fears to be confirmed.“That’s what I was wondering” another sighed. “What if it was ” it repeated its question. I could imagine the voice as that of a lean woman, staring at me with crossed her arms and warm amber eyes piercing through the bottom of my soul and trying to figure me out but I looked away immediately. The hair in my arms stood involuntarily at the mention of his name, causing my whole body to tense up. I remembered the last time. I was giving him more power than necessary. He still managed to b
Sebastian’s POV “What is this madness?” One of the men yelled, he was staring at me with cold icy eyes, and his accent was heavy.“What does it look like? Be patient and watch.” I responded calmly, although I really wanted to tear them into pieces. When the video finished playing, they both turned to me, faces white as paper, their mouths agape. I could have sworn that their hearts skipped a few beats when the video played the first time. Then one of them looked at the other, he gave him a slight nod as if he had just completed some kind of mission. The one called Pierre cleared his voice. “What do you want?”he asked. He didn't seem so confident now. In fact he seemed downright scared. But what was there to be afraid of, he thought. I’m not going to kill you or anything, so calm down. Calm down.“Well, first of all, you need to answer a question for me” A smirk appeared on my face. The man looked surprised but nodded in agreement. “Did you really think you could get away with hara
Sebastian’s POV “The French men, they molested me” The words fell off her lips and I could feel the blood rushing to my face, though there was no emotion on her face. This was a mistake, I must have misheard. It couldnt be possible. All I saw was red. I was angry and sad and confused and scared. I couldn't remember why I had felt these things, but I remembered those words very cleary. Those words were engraved into my mind, they found a way to keep themselves in my memory. It played on a loop in my mind, the image of her lying broken and bleeding on the floor, the smell of her fear in my nostrils, her broken soul. It felt like I could remember her, more like sew every single detail, the sound of her screams, and every single word she screamed. The way her eyes were wide open and full of fear as she tried to call for me, I'd always hear it echoing in my mind. I could picture the men laughing while they tossed her back and forth, I could imagine them staring at her luscious body,
Alina’s POV My vision blurred when I woke up and blinked away the dark spots in front of my eyes, trying to understand where I was, what happened. My body felt tense like a rubber band pulled taut as it stretched from my shoulders to my knees, but when I tried to move any muscle in my body it just hurt. It was like there were wires connected to all my limbs, some in my back, others in my legs and feet. It made it hard for me to sit up, so I had to lean against the bed.“Relax…” I heard a familiar voice. “Just relax. You're fine.""Mister?" I croaked out, my voice sounding raw even to my own ears. He laughed.“From Sebastian to Mister, but I will take it” he said. His voice sounded distant, like I was listening through a tunnel. “You're safe here, we're going to get you out of that position in a few minutes, just let your muscles uncoil." His warm hand rested lightly on my shoulder. “I feel trapped.”"It's okay...you're not trapped." I could hear the smile in his voice. “You ju
Sebastian’s POVShe looked so frail as she laid there in the hospital bed, her head was wrapped up in bandages and her face pale and sickly looking from her blood loss. After she stormed off at the park, I didn't go after her. I didn't expect her to go far either but soon time passed and there was no sign of Alina. So I assumed she had gone home but when I got home, she wasn't back. She didn't answer any of my calls or texts. Eventually she returned, her shoulders hung lowly in defeat but still she stood tall with a defiant tilt to her chin and a determined set to her eyes. I could still tell something wasnt right from the way her body stiffened and her gaze avoided mine. “Where have you been?” She shrugged noncommittally. “Around.” Her voice sounded like it belonged to someone else. It was quiet and flat and hollow. But the more her expression changed, the more I realized how much I hated that look on her. It only lasted a second before her facade slipped and tears fell
Alina’s POV I didn't tell Sebastian anything when I got home. There was nothing to tell. I maintained a distance as much as I could, not responding when he spoke to me. I couldn't let him know what had happened. That would only mean more chaos. I was tired of the chaos it had managed to become a part of my everyday life.I was going to see the French men by myself the next day, I would make it work, with or without his help.“What are you offering?”“A partnership with my company is going to be a big step for us. It would give a fusion both to French and American culture , it gives people the same experience. My team will be in charge of developing the products and marketing your own, it is going to bring us together.” I smiled at the men in front of me . They looked like business tycoons but their demeanor was different - they weren't arrogant or condescending. In fact, they seemed eager to have a collaboration between companies. A few seconds of silence passed between them, as if
AlinaThe pain was immediate and excruciating but I kept myself together. I didn't cry, I didn't move, I didn't react. Not for long anyway. It was a good thing that I had learned self-control. “Mother!” Sebastian yelled angrily. He walked up to his mother and pulled her away from me. “Now you lis
Alina POV"I want to speak to Sebastian Wolfe” I said as I stepped up to the front desk. The dark haired secretary took her time, running a mocking gaze over me, from my dirty, wrinkled dress to my cheap shoes, messy hair and ruined make up. I knew I looked crazy, but I didn't care. I was a desper

Alina POV"Oh God," I let out a moan I didn't feel as the man began to kiss a line down my throat, hands roaming all over my body. The man mouthed at my exposed cleavage, making a sound of pleasure low in his throat, "God, baby. You taste so good." Of course I did, I had spent over three hours so
