LOGINAlina POV
"Victor, you've gotten the promo…" my words died in my throat at the sight before me.
I blinked in confusion, wondering whether I was hallucinating, but the vision remained the same. The horrifying vision of my husband and his secretary tangled up together in my marital bed.
"What the hell is going on here!" I screamed.
They didn't even bother jumping apart and showing shock. Instead they took their time pulling away from the kiss, and finally faced me with irritated glares.
"What are you doing here?" Victor asked, eyebrows pulled low in annoyance.
"W-what am I doing here?" I echoed, feeling like there wasn't enough oxygen in the room, "This is my house."
His secretary snorted, "Last time I heard, your name isn't on the deed”
"Shut up!" I roared at her.
"Don't you dare speak to her like that!” My husband spat, anger rolling off him.
"I don't understand, what's going on?" There was no way it was really what I thought, no way that my husband and his secretary were actually having an affair. Victor loved me and there was no way he’d ever do something like that. He would never betray me after all I'd done for him, for us.
"What does it look like?" She rolled her eyes, smirking at me, "Did you think Victor would actually stay with a disgusting thing like you? Look at yourself, Alina, you make me sick to my stomach. Victor is now the president of his company. How can a man in his position be with a woman who every man in the business world has been with? He needs a woman like me"
My jaw dropped open in horror and I swung my gaze to my husband who looked completely irritated by my presence, "You begged me to help you get to the top and I slept with all those men to get you to this position!"
He snorted, face cold, "No decent woman would have agreed to such a plan. A part of you had to have been eager to spread your legs like a bitch in heat”
His words shot through me like several swords lancing through my heart and I staggered back, tears burning the backs of my eyes, "I never wanted it. I did it for you, I did it because I love you. I did it for us, our future”
"What future?" His mouth curled in derision, "how can I have a future with a whore like you? You want me to be the laughingstock of the business world? Hunh? Haven't you done enough already?"
I stared at him in shock. I still remembered Victor coming to me a year ago to complain that he was being overlooked when it came to business deals and promotions. He told me about how one of his superiors at the office had a thing for me. It took him almost half a year to convince me to go on a date with Richard.
It feels like yesterday when my husband had been comforting me after I returned from Richard hotel. We had celebrated his first promotion the following week and that was how I'd gotten myself into this mess.
I'd never wanted any of this. "You told me that this would make you love me more!" I roared, "You promised to never resent me for this."
"Don't be a fool," Laura laughed, "A man has his pride, and a gorgeous, successful man like Victor should only be with a woman who he can be proud to call his queen. Imagine him showing up to an event with you on his arms and all the men that have fucked you laughing at him behind his back”
Tears poured down my eyes. How could I be so foolish? I'd given my dignity and my body for a man who used me to further his career.
Suddenly, Victor flung some documents at me, "Sign it”
As I read through the heading of the document, I suddenly felt sick. I began to tremble, bile rising up my throat while tears blurred my vision, "No. I won't sign this. I won't grant you a divorce!”
"Let's not do things the difficult way, Alina," Laura smirked and stepped forward with a big, brown envelope, "Inside there are photographs of you with other men. As soon as we take this to the court, the judge will grant Victor a divorce. Let's save ourselves the time and stress and embarrassment."
I stared at my husband, taking in his cool expression. The way he was looking at me now, like I was garbage on the street made me want to throw up. Wasn't it just yesterday he had hugged me and promised me that this was the last time.
"I did it all with his express knowledge," I argued, "I did it for you."
"What evidence do you have?" She rolled her eyes, "Sign the papers and stop being so pathetic. I'm sure any of those men you so eagerly jumped into their beds would be willing to make you their mistress."
My whole life and four years of marriage to a man I thought was my knight in shining armor was slipping away from me in the blink of an eye. I rushed forward and dropped to my knees in front of my husband, "Don't do this to me, Victor ," I sobbed, "I love you so much. What about all our plans? The trip to Africa? The three kids and a dog you said we'd have."
"How can the mother of my kids be a whore?" He said coldly, "And anyway, in about eight months, Laura will give me the child that you were too worthless to give me."
What! So this had been going on for that long?
"You can either sign the papers peacefully, or we'll release your sex videos and pictures to the public," his secretary spat, holding out a pen for me, "Your choice."
I stared at the divorce papers in my shaky hands, and then took the pen from her hand. As I scrawled my name on the dotted line, tears running down my eyes, I swore that this wouldn't be the end.
Sebastian POV When she was done with the phone, she put it back on the side table where she had taken it, avoiding my gaze. The air was still heavy with sexual tension and I could tell there were things we wanted to say to each other but couldn't. So instead we both stood quietly, waiting for the other to speak first. “When are we going to start making an heir?” I blurted out not oblivious to the fact that my words reeked of desperation. She looked up in surprise. “Why didn't you say I would beg?” Her words held sarcasm now. “For someone who doesn't want to be around me, you are sure enjoying this push and pull episode.” I matched her energy as best I could. My voice was rough but at least my face didn't show how my bruised ego. I walked towards her and she did the same as if we were daring each other . She came to a halt just inches from me and I could catch the fragrance of her hair. Our breaths mixed together in the stillness of our proximity and for a split second ev
Alina’s POV “Did you fix it yet?” Charles eyes were boring into mine, and so were those of Vanessa. “Not yet, grandfather but I am on it” I tried to pacify them both. They looked at each other with an unreadable expression in their eyes. It was strange, but the way they looked, it reminded me of how Grandfather looked when he first told me that was his favourite granddaughter. His face was blank as usual, his gaze almost emotionless, but somehow that made him look more approachable than anything else. “How long is it going to take?” Vanessa whined , and her words seemed directed only at me now. I couldn't say, I resolved to bow my head in shame. “You see why you shouldn't have left her in charge? She doesn't deserve it. Everyone knows I am the better granddaughter.” she continued as if talking to herself. “It's too late for that. There's nothing we can do now.” Vanessa said in an attempt to console her. She rolled her eyes “That's bullshit grandfather. Are you going to sit he

Alina’s POVSebastian stormed out without me. He left me standing there in front of his father and I wanted to cower and hide from the man’s glaring eyes and I could hear my breath coming out heavily through my nose. But my pride didn't let me. But eventually, just when I wanted to turn away slowly, he stopped me.“We need to talk.” There was still anger in his voice but he wasn't yelling now. The anger that had been in his eyes before was gone and replaced with an odd sense of calm as if he understood something about what I was feeling.I was confused by his statement for a few seconds.“How much?” He asked . His words were calm and quiet but there was a certain intensity in them that made me look up at him again. He seemed like a person who didn’t get impatient very often.“Huh?”My brow furrowed as I tried to process his question. Did he want to know how much this situation meant to me or did he want to know where we stood now? “How much do you need to stay away from my son? To
Sebastian POV “Why did you marry me?” She was in my office, looking feisty and hot in the well-tailored navy blue pants she wore and a cream shirt. Her eyes were burning into mine with that intensity I was so used to from her on the field. It would take more than this, but it was enough for her to make me lose any semblance of control over myself, especially since I already was having a rough day but instead I smiled in amusement which made her more furious. “Is that the real reason why you married me? You wanted my grandfather's company to run into ruins and you just needed a good plan to start your destruction? Is this what this is all about?” She went on yelling and I could tell her voice had lost its usual cool edge. The smile immediately fell from my face. What was she going on about? “What are you talking about?” My voice sounded more serious than I intended because at the sound of my stern tone she calmed down slightly, but not much. I took a deep breath. It only see
Alina’s POV“What do you mean?” I asked, staring at the grey-haired man in front of me who had come along with his team.“We no longer want the partnership with your company,” he said in a gruff voice while looking out of the window and not meeting my eyes. “It is time for us to take over our own business,” he added after a pause. “But everything has been going smoothly, what changed your mind?” I asked, looking at him with an eyebrow raised in disbelief. “We have already taken care of all that matters. My board members voted for a dissolution. We wouldn't want to associate with a company whose acting CEO's reputation is on the line because of its bad business practices. It would be best if we go our separate ways” he answered, still not meeting my gaze. “The merger was a very good idea and we appreciate your support for our decision,” he added. With these words, he got up from the chair opposite to mine and left without saying another word. So did his team.I collapsed against my
AlinaThe pain was immediate and excruciating but I kept myself together. I didn't cry, I didn't move, I didn't react. Not for long anyway. It was a good thing that I had learned self-control. “Mother!” Sebastian yelled angrily. He walked up to his mother and pulled her away from me. “Now you lis
Alina POV“Sir your fiancee is here” I heard his receptionist say from behind the door.Sebastian didn't make any attempt to move so I pushed him. What surprised me was the way my hands tingled as I pushed him further away and the fact that he did not object. We stared at each other for a moment
AlinaPanic engulfed me as I stared at the moving body, there was no way I was going to be part of a murder case, not when I had just started living, not with everything else.“What the hell have you done? He is not breathing, he is not moving!” I screamed at Sebastian in the middle of my panic att
AlinaIt all moved so fast, one minute I was asking him why he was stalking me and the other minute, I somehow found myself in the living room with my grandfather and Sebastian Wolfe.“We are getting married” Sebastian announced confidently and the room fell silent. It was typical of him to always
