LOGINAlina’s POV
“What if it was him?” that voice echoed in my mind, causing me to look up and look around me, I was alone and lost in my thoughts. I shivered involuntarily. I didn't understand where that question even came from. But the voices in my head were active. “Alina, are you even listening to me?” One snapped, pulling further into my thoughts. “Who?” I asked, confused. I knew who it asked for, and I knew what it was talking about but trust me when I say no one wanted their fears to be confirmed. “That’s what I was wondering” another sighed. “What if it was ” it repeated its question. I could imagine the voice as that of a lean woman, staring at me with crossed her arms and warm amber eyes piercing through the bottom of my soul and trying to figure me out but I looked away immediately. The hair in my arms stood involuntarily at the mention of his name, causing my whole body to tense up. I remembered the last time. I was giving him more power than necessary. He still managed to be in charge even here? I said in my head like I had not been suspecting him after all. Like I didn't think he was the one who must have told the French men. I was surprised as if he hadn't been stalking me. The name sent chills through my body like ice water. A cold shudder rolled down my back and goosebumps erupted across every inch of my body as I remembered how close I was to losing my life at the hands of the accident that had almost killed me. I pretended like I hadn't thought about the possibility, I made up this picture that nothing was wrong, that everything was fine and maybe I was imagining things. I didn't know. I was just tired. I felt way too tired. The thought of facing him again made my stomach lurch uncomfortably. He had been stalking me, watching me, waiting for a perfect opportunity to attack me again. Could it be? I didn’t have enough evidence. I did but I couldn't put myself out there. The media would find a way to twist it. Maybe I really was paranoid. But the reality that I was no longer safe hit me like a ton of bricks. And all at once I was struck by the realization that I was truly living on borrowed time. “Oh God.”, I groaned. A million questions flooded my brain and all I wanted to do was run out of the hospital and into the streets, far, far away from here. Away from my problems. Away from my stupid dreams. I couldn’t handle them. Not when everything inside me screamed at me to run, to hide, and not return. Not without knowing who really saved me. I wanted to find the person responsible for saving me from the accident. They would have just let me die and I wouldn't be here dealing with this nightmare. If it was truly letting people know about my past, I was no match for him. I was afraid to confront him. Afraid that this will lead back to him somehow, and the fact that I would have to deal with the consequences of running away led me to the core. “Alina, listen” another voice demanded while I imagined it grabbing both of my hands tightly. It took me completely by surprise. The voices knew what I was thinking and feared it even more. They knew that I was afraid of Victor and him. But they didn't understand my pain. Some sounded scared too. “What are you doing, you shouldn't have brought that up, at least not yet. But you know you will have to deal with this eventually, whether you want to or not. It could be and damn him.” I was lost now, talking to myself. I shook my head slightly. I was right. I had to face this sooner or later. I might as well start now but that was not enough evidence. I sighed deeply trying to focus on what these voices were saying but I couldn't and it felt like I couldn't breathe properly. My body was tense all over like I was ready to jump out of my skin. I couldn't even sit up straight. I tried to push my legs away from the bed, to distance myself as much as possible, but I found myself unable to move from the spot. “Alina, breathe” A nurse whispered softly as her face appeared above me, “You're okay. Everything is going to be alright” she reassured me. When did she walk in here? I couldn't remember. I nodded slowly. I forced myself to take deep breaths, but I felt like I couldn't get the air. The pain and pressure that had built inside me for weeks seemed to increase even more. And I felt like I was suffocating. It felt like a huge ball of fire was burning through my chest, spreading throughout my entire body; spreading to every cell and muscle. It was as though I'd been stabbed. I couldn't control my breathing any longer and my body started shaking violently, ignoring my feeble efforts to stay in control. “Just try to breathe...just breathe.” She was talking to me but I couldn't hear her. Her voice sounded distant like I was in a bubble and she was above me. All I could focus on was the overwhelming pain that spread throughout my entire being, consuming my very soul. The last thing I heard was the nurse screaming for help and for the doctors but my eyes couldn't stay focused on anything for longer than five seconds, I kept losing focus. Everything seemed to be happening from afar and it seemed like I was floating out of my body. I heard the rush that followed but I had lost the battle to the darkness that suddenly pounced on me so I allowed it to take control as everything went blank.Alina’s POV“What if it was him?” that voice echoed in my mind, causing me to look up and look around me, I was alone and lost in my thoughts.I shivered involuntarily.I didn't understand where that question even came from. Sebastian’s POV “What is this madness?” One of the men yelled, he was staring at me with cold icy eyes, and his accent was heavy.“What does it look like? Be patient and watch.” I responded calmly, although I really wanted to tear them into pieces. When the video finished playing, they both turned to me, faces white as paper, their mouths agape. I could have sworn that their hearts skipped a few beats when the video played the first time. Then one of them looked at the other, he gave him a slight nod as if he had just completed some kind of mission. The one called Pierre cleared his voice. “What do you want?”he asked. He didn't seem so confident now. In fact he seemed downright scared. But what was there to be afraid of, he thought. I’m not going to kill you or anything, so calm down. Calm down.“Well, first of all, you need to answer a question for me” A smirk appeared on my face. The man looked surprised but nodded in agreement. “Did you really think you could get away with hara
Sebastian’s POV “The French men, they molested me” The words fell off her lips and I could feel the blood rushing to my face, though there was no emotion on her face. This was a mistake, I must have misheard. It couldnt be possible. All I saw was red. I was angry and sad and confused and scared. I couldn't remember why I had felt these things, but I remembered those words very cleary. Those words were engraved into my mind, they found a way to keep themselves in my memory. It played on a loop in my mind, the image of her lying broken and bleeding on the floor, the smell of her fear in my nostrils, her broken soul. It felt like I could remember her, more like sew every single detail, the sound of her screams, and every single word she screamed. The way her eyes were wide open and full of fear as she tried to call for me, I'd always hear it echoing in my mind. I could picture the men laughing while they tossed her back and forth, I could imagine them staring at her luscious body,
Alina’s POV My vision blurred when I woke up and blinked away the dark spots in front of my eyes, trying to understand where I was, what happened. My body felt tense like a rubber band pulled taut as it stretched from my shoulders to my knees, but when I tried to move any muscle in my body it just hurt. It was like there were wires connected to all my limbs, some in my back, others in my legs and feet. It made it hard for me to sit up, so I had to lean against the bed.“Relax…” I heard a familiar voice. “Just relax. You're fine.""Mister?" I croaked out, my voice sounding raw even to my own ears. He laughed.“From Sebastian to Mister, but I will take it” he said. His voice sounded distant, like I was listening through a tunnel. “You're safe here, we're going to get you out of that position in a few minutes, just let your muscles uncoil." His warm hand rested lightly on my shoulder. “I feel trapped.”"It's okay...you're not trapped." I could hear the smile in his voice. “You ju
Sebastian’s POVShe looked so frail as she laid there in the hospital bed, her head was wrapped up in bandages and her face pale and sickly looking from her blood loss. After she stormed off at the park, I didn't go after her. I didn't expect her to go far either but soon time passed and there was no sign of Alina. So I assumed she had gone home but when I got home, she wasn't back. She didn't answer any of my calls or texts. Eventually she returned, her shoulders hung lowly in defeat but still she stood tall with a defiant tilt to her chin and a determined set to her eyes. I could still tell something wasnt right from the way her body stiffened and her gaze avoided mine. “Where have you been?” She shrugged noncommittally. “Around.” Her voice sounded like it belonged to someone else. It was quiet and flat and hollow. But the more her expression changed, the more I realized how much I hated that look on her. It only lasted a second before her facade slipped and tears fell
Alina’s POV I didn't tell Sebastian anything when I got home. There was nothing to tell. I maintained a distance as much as I could, not responding when he spoke to me. I couldn't let him know what had happened. That would only mean more chaos. I was tired of the chaos it had managed to become a part of my everyday life.I was going to see the French men by myself the next day, I would make it work, with or without his help.“What are you offering?”“A partnership with my company is going to be a big step for us. It would give a fusion both to French and American culture , it gives people the same experience. My team will be in charge of developing the products and marketing your own, it is going to bring us together.” I smiled at the men in front of me . They looked like business tycoons but their demeanor was different - they weren't arrogant or condescending. In fact, they seemed eager to have a collaboration between companies. A few seconds of silence passed between them, as if

Alina POVAlina. "Mrs. Wolfe" I muttered under my breath. I stared at the ring on my finger, still in shock from everything that had happened in the past few hours. I couldn't believe I'd gone from married to divorced to married again in the span of a day. My life was really one big mess. "We're
Alina POV"I want to speak to Sebastian Wolfe” I said as I stepped up to the front desk. The dark haired secretary took her time, running a mocking gaze over me, from my dirty, wrinkled dress to my cheap shoes, messy hair and ruined make up. I knew I looked crazy, but I didn't care. I was a desper
Alina POV"Victor, you've gotten the promo…" my words died in my throat at the sight before me. I blinked in confusion, wondering whether I was hallucinating, but the vision remained the same. The horrifying vision of my husband and his secretary tangled up together in my marital bed. "What the
