LOGINAlina’s POV
My vision blurred when I woke up and blinked away the dark spots in front of my eyes, trying to understand where I was, what happened. My body felt tense like a rubber band pulled taut as it stretched from my shoulders to my knees, but when I tried to move any muscle in my body it just hurt. It was like there were wires connected to all my limbs, some in my back, others in my legs and feet. It made it hard for me to sit up, so I had to lean against the bed. “Relax…” I heard a familiar voice. “Just relax. You're fine." "Mister?" I croaked out, my voice sounding raw even to my own ears. He laughed. “From Sebastian to Mister, but I will take it” he said. His voice sounded distant, like I was listening through a tunnel. “You're safe here, we're going to get you out of that position in a few minutes, just let your muscles uncoil." His warm hand rested lightly on my shoulder. “I feel trapped.” "It's okay...you're not trapped." I could hear the smile in his voice. “You just need to lie still and everything is going to be fine." He stroked my shoulder. The movement made my muscles spasm, which hurt. “What happened to me?” I asked, ignoring his reassurances. “You were involved in an accident while on your way back from work.” His voice held no emotion except relief. "You have been unconscious since then." “How long ago?" “The day before yesterday." He answered. I knew my heart skipped a beat at his words. He must've seen it in my expression because he added, "Relax...it’s over now." I took a deep breath and slowly let it out. It helped, but it didn't relieve the pressure on my chest. There was still something heavy inside me. I wondered if this had anything to do with whatever happened to me before that crash. I could still hear them laughing in my head. I felt their mocking presence and I hated it. The fear and humiliation I felt, and that feeling of helplessness… I looked around frantically in a panic. The room wasn’t recognizable . There were white walls, ceiling that curved up into a high dome, and I felt like a prisoner, unable to escape. But it couldn’t be real, right? This couldn’t actually be happening. I was dreaming. My gaze locked onto him again and he looked different. “Brewthe Alina, your grandfather is on his way. He was here yesterday.” he said. I realized he was holding my hand , squeezing gently and rubbing circles with his thumb across the backs of my knuckles. It took me a moment to realize that that wasn't what bothered me about the room. “No, no, no. He can't see me like this!" I wiggled my fingers free from his grasp and backed away from him. "He'll freak out! He won't let me work" He didn't speak, didn't move. He just stood watching me carefully. I could feel his gaze on me. “This is not a time to worry about work” He said more firmly this time.“Alina, I want to help." “Help? No!” I shouted. “You can't help me, this is between me and my grandfather.” His features hardened into one of irritation “Why do you insist on putting everything off like this? I don't believe I'm doing you any favors.” I crossed my arms “You’re not helping.” His nostrils flared slightly, his eyes narrowed “We can schedule another meeting with the Frenchmen…” “No Sebastian! you are not listening to me! No Frenchmen” My voice was hoarse now with frustration, the weight of my emotions pushing at my lungs. He stopped. “This is too much for you, let's focus on your recovery” he said, his tone changing completely from frustration to concern. A wave of exhaustion came over me making me sag backwards. My vision darkened and I reached out blindly for something to hold on to. “Alina…” he whispered but his voice seemed far away. Suddenly the darkness faded and I found myself looking straight at him. “Water…” I croaked out. “Shhh, breathe Alina,” He said as he helped me sit up. I shivered as the air hit me, goose bumps prickling across my skin. I felt cold. He poured water into a glass , held it to my lips “Drink slowly.” he instructed. I obeyed. My throat burned as the liquid passed my lips. I swallowed reflexively, hoping that drinking more would make me feel better than simply accepting the fact that everything I loved and cared about was gone. “That’s it, slow down” he said. “Deep breaths and try to relax. I know that this seems overwhelming right now, but trust me. You will feel better soon.” I stared ahead blankly as he spoke. I knew that he was wrong, I knew that this was beyond overwhelming. I wanted to scream in anger at him. I was going to lose the company. I was already losing my mind with every passing second, and all this man did was keep reassuring me over and over again. He sat beside me and we kept staring at each other, silent. Finally I managed to say, “I thought you were cold.” He gave an odd little laugh. “And I am not?” “I am not sure. Why are you staring as if you feel pity for me?” He looked shocked at my statement. “I mean it is understandable, after everything that has happened to me in the last few days, but you shouldn’t care.” He looked away and sighed. “What makes you think I care?” I looked at him skeptically and waited for him to continue. But he didn't . “Well…” I paused, considering my options. Then I decided to push my luck and continued. “At least you didn't leave me here. Maybe you aren't so bad after all” I smiled weakly. He looked at me in surprise, then frowned. He said nothing. I was forced to say something “The French men, they molested me” I winced as the words left my mouth, afraid of his reaction. All color drained from his face.Alina’s POV “And she lives” Those were the first words that rolled out of Sebastian’s mother’s lips once Sebastian pushed me in through the door and let it slam behind him.I winced at the sound as I looked around. His parents and sister’s faces held no love, not even a hint of affection. In fact, they just looked like they’d seen better days. They made it clear as usual that I wasn't welcome and I didn't want to be. “Very generous of you, Mother” Sebastian’s voice reeked of sarcasm as he leaned down with a sneer. “You really think I would give up my wife?”I cringed away from his sneer. “Sebastian…” I tried to reach out for his hand but he moved his body away from mine, so I gave up and slumped my hands against my sides instead. The room was so cold I could see my breath as his mother continued, “You might have had your pick of the women in town. But then, I suppose, there’s always one who isn’t worthy of being yours.”Sebastian stood still for a moment before saying, in a very
Alina’s POV“What if it was him?” that voice echoed in my mind, causing me to look up and look around me, I was alone and lost in my thoughts.I shivered involuntarily.I didn't understand where that question even came from. But the voices in my head were active. “Alina, are you even listening to me?” One snapped, pulling further into my thoughts.“Who?” I asked, confused. I knew who it asked for, and I knew what it was talking about but trust me when I say no one wanted their fears to be confirmed.“That’s what I was wondering” another sighed. “What if it was ” it repeated its question. I could imagine the voice as that of a lean woman, staring at me with crossed her arms and warm amber eyes piercing through the bottom of my soul and trying to figure me out but I looked away immediately. The hair in my arms stood involuntarily at the mention of his name, causing my whole body to tense up. I remembered the last time. I was giving him more power than necessary. He still managed to b
Sebastian’s POV “What is this madness?” One of the men yelled, he was staring at me with cold icy eyes, and his accent was heavy.“What does it look like? Be patient and watch.” I responded calmly, although I really wanted to tear them into pieces. When the video finished playing, they both turned to me, faces white as paper, their mouths agape. I could have sworn that their hearts skipped a few beats when the video played the first time. Then one of them looked at the other, he gave him a slight nod as if he had just completed some kind of mission. The one called Pierre cleared his voice. “What do you want?”he asked. He didn't seem so confident now. In fact he seemed downright scared. But what was there to be afraid of, he thought. I’m not going to kill you or anything, so calm down. Calm down.“Well, first of all, you need to answer a question for me” A smirk appeared on my face. The man looked surprised but nodded in agreement. “Did you really think you could get away with hara
Sebastian’s POV “The French men, they molested me” The words fell off her lips and I could feel the blood rushing to my face, though there was no emotion on her face. This was a mistake, I must have misheard. It couldnt be possible. All I saw was red. I was angry and sad and confused and scared. I couldn't remember why I had felt these things, but I remembered those words very cleary. Those words were engraved into my mind, they found a way to keep themselves in my memory. It played on a loop in my mind, the image of her lying broken and bleeding on the floor, the smell of her fear in my nostrils, her broken soul. It felt like I could remember her, more like sew every single detail, the sound of her screams, and every single word she screamed. The way her eyes were wide open and full of fear as she tried to call for me, I'd always hear it echoing in my mind. I could picture the men laughing while they tossed her back and forth, I could imagine them staring at her luscious body,

Sebastian’s POVShe looked so frail as she laid there in the hospital bed, her head was wrapped up in bandages and her face pale and sickly looking from her blood loss. After she stormed off at the park, I didn't go after her. I didn't expect her to go far either but soon time passed and there was no sign of Alina. So I assumed she had gone home but when I got home, she wasn't back. She didn't answer any of my calls or texts. Eventually she returned, her shoulders hung lowly in defeat but still she stood tall with a defiant tilt to her chin and a determined set to her eyes. I could still tell something wasnt right from the way her body stiffened and her gaze avoided mine. “Where have you been?” She shrugged noncommittally. “Around.” Her voice sounded like it belonged to someone else. It was quiet and flat and hollow. But the more her expression changed, the more I realized how much I hated that look on her. It only lasted a second before her facade slipped and tears fell
AlinaThe pain was immediate and excruciating but I kept myself together. I didn't cry, I didn't move, I didn't react. Not for long anyway. It was a good thing that I had learned self-control. “Mother!” Sebastian yelled angrily. He walked up to his mother and pulled her away from me. “Now you lis
Alina POV"I want to speak to Sebastian Wolfe” I said as I stepped up to the front desk. The dark haired secretary took her time, running a mocking gaze over me, from my dirty, wrinkled dress to my cheap shoes, messy hair and ruined make up. I knew I looked crazy, but I didn't care. I was a desper

Alina POV"Oh God," I let out a moan I didn't feel as the man began to kiss a line down my throat, hands roaming all over my body. The man mouthed at my exposed cleavage, making a sound of pleasure low in his throat, "God, baby. You taste so good." Of course I did, I had spent over three hours so
