Chapter Eighteen: Katya

I was sitting quietly in the bushes waiting to spot the elusive forbidden that had been circling Killian’s pack lands, they definitely had begun hunting us instead of us hunting them. What could possibly have caused this shift? It still irked me, I was missing something and that hardly ever happened.

I heard twigs snap behind me. I shift quietly to turn around and give myself room to unsheath my sword.

“Calm down it’s me,” Killian whispered leaning down next to me.

“What are you doing here?” I hissed. “We discussed this.”

“Eh, technically you screeched at me while I stood in shock that you smacked me upside my head,” Killian answered with a small smile.

“I don’t screech.” I was offended, I never screeched.

“It was a high octave.”

“Shut up, I don’t like that you’re here.”

“Listen, I need to do something, and actually feel like I’m accomplishing something, so I can go hunt somewhere else or we can work in twos like you told all your people they were supposed to.”
