Chapter Seventeen: Killian

I sat emersed in my thoughts of my childhood, and how Sarai had tormented me for my so-called weakness, how as I became older, my father joined her. My mother was my only friend in the constant darkness, but she too fled, and never looked back much like I had chosen to do.

My phone started ringing bringing me out of my thoughts as I sat in the parking lot of Katya’s club.

“Yeah?” I asked, slightly irritated.

“They’re at a hotel that situated over one hundred miles away, why would she come this way, Killian?” Markus on the other end answered perturbed.

“That’s what I want to know. Sarai never misses or loves anyone, what do they want? What are they doing?”

“There is a bank conference there, but I thought your dad dropped the banking investments he was making?”

“Dad said the best way to lose money was to depend on human banks, he pulled out of that shit over two years ago, he only invests in cars now.”

“Would Sarai invest in banks?”
