[Dominic’s POV]

The Louisiana bayou did not feel like a forest; it felt like the belly of a rotting beast.

The heat was suffocating, a thick humid blanket, that smelled of sulfur, decaying flesh and ancient stagnant water. Not just nasty either, it felt old, like something had been festering there since forever.

Above us the canopy of twisted, moss-draped cypress trees was so dense it blocked out the moonlight. So we were left with absolute darkness, the kind that makes every breath feel loud.

[Dominic’s POV]The Louisiana bayou did not feel like a forest; it felt like the belly of a rotting beast. The heat was suffocating, a thick humid blanket, that smelled of sulfur, decaying flesh and ancient stagnant water. Not just nasty either, it felt old, like something had been festering there since forever.Above us the canopy of twisted, moss-draped cypress trees was so dense it blocked out the moonlight. So we were left with absolute darkness, the kind that makes every breath feel loud."Step exactly where I step," Gideon rasped. His scarred face got lit up by that sickly green chemical flare. He had a machete in one hand, and in the other, a compass that spun like it wanted to escape him. "The Blood-Paths are the only solid ground, you step one inch off the root line and the mud will swallow you whole… it won’t spit you back out."I didn’t need the warning, my Alpha senses were already yelling. The swamp wasn’t only highly toxic , it was alive. Every shadow seemed to wear a pa

  • His Forbidden Mate: Hiding the Alpha's Secret Heir   The Witch Hunter's Bargain

[Sophie’s POV]The library doors, heavy oak ones, slammed open so hard the wood cracked , like it was tired of holding itself together.Dominic barged inside, right after shifting back to his human skin. He was soaked, sweat mixing with melting snow and the blood from the men he’d been forced to put down. Not just theirs. It was everywhere, in the air, on him, like the room had been dragged through something ugly.A silver bullet had grazed his shoulder. A jagged, angry red. Still, he didn’t even look at it. His feral golden eyes snapped straight to the silver-tinged blood sliding from my nose."Sophie!" Dominic roared, crossing the room in one wild blur.He dropped to his knees in front of me, massive hands shaking as they cupped my face. The terror pouring off him was suffocating, absolute , like the world tightened around my ribs. He wiped the glowing silver trail off my chin with his thumb, and his chest rose and fell in frantic bursts as he checked me for anything, anything physi

  • His Forbidden Mate: Hiding the Alpha's Secret Heir   The Swamp's Curse

[Sophie’s POV]The raspy, venomous voice faded from my mind, but the suffocating chill in the library remained.I didn’t even give myself one heartbeat. I flattened both my hands against the freezing floorboards and shove everything—maternal terror, raw panic, all of it—straight into the First Moon’s well of magic.A shockwave, like pure blinding starlight, tore out from my palms. It raced across the floor, climbed the walls, and then sealed the massive windows. Celestial light snapped into a glowing dome around the Alpha wing, solid as stone.“Ethan, stay in the center of the light,” I ordered, my chest heaving like I’d been running. Before Dominic could even start praising the barrier, the encrypted walkie talkie clipped to Marcus’s tactical vest erupted into frantic static.“Beta! Beta do you copy?!” The voice was one of Silas’s seasoned mercenaries, but it sounded completely deranged, like his mind had left the room. “They’re inside the perimeter! The shadows have teeth! Oh god, t

  • His Forbidden Mate: Hiding the Alpha's Secret Heir   The Accelerated Heir

[Sophie’s POV]The sterile, bright lights of the underground pack infirmary were a stark contrast to the blood and ash covering the floors above.I’m lying on a crisp white examination table, Dominic’s huge, soot-stained hand fully swallowing mine like it was nothing. He wouldn’t even try to wash the vampire ash off, or the dried blood from his torn clothes. Not once. His golden eyes, with those dark flecks of silver that never really settle, were locked on the ultrasound monitor like he could glare it into obeying.Dr. Vance, the pack’s new head physician, moved the wand over my bare, still-flat stomach. His face went pale, his brow pinched up in disbelief, like the screen was lying to him.The sound wasn’t that slow, steady thump-thump I expected from some brand new heartbeat. No. It came out like fast, thrumming hummingbird wings, a ringing echo that made my own chest hum along with it.“I’ve never seen anything like this in all my years of pack medicine,” Dr. Vance murmured, adjus

"I will drink you dry."King Malachi didn’t just… vanish, into the shadows. no, he became them, somehow. One moment he was right there by the armchair, and then , he materialized in front of me like a bad thought you can’t shake. His icy fingers clamped around my throat with that crushing force a steel vice would have, if steel could feel cold.I choked, sure, but i didn’t panic. I shoved both of my hands flat into his chest, unloading a blinding, point-blank strike of pure celestial starlight. It should have turned him to ash instantly. It didn’t. Instead the ancient darkness clinging to his body sucked the impact in, hissing, smoking, like water thrown onto a grease fire, yeah, except meaner. He didn’t fall apart. He didn’t even really break—he only flinched, like it was an insult, and a cruel smile stretched across his flawless pale face."I am not one of my foot soldiers, little goddess," Malachi whispered. His breath froze the tears on my cheeks. "I have walked in the dark for t

The armored SUV didn't slow down for the perimeter checkpoint. Silas’s driver slammed the reinforced grill of the truck directly through our own iron gates, tearing the metal off its hinges. The Steele Estate was a graveyard. No , really, it felt like one.Dozens of elite Lycan guards—guys I had watched that morning laughing and running drills—lay sprawled across the snow covered lawn.Their bodies looked drained, utterly drained, their skin a translucent grey like something peeled thin. And the mansion… it should’ve been blazing, warm golden light everywhere, but now it was drowned in an absolute, unnatural dark. Even the air felt wrong, suffocatingly freezing, with that sharp metallic smell of ancient death hanging around like a bad memory.“Ethan!” Dominic roared, kicking the heavy armored door open before the truck had even finished creeping to a full stop.He shifted halfway , claws stretching , golden eyes flaring as we sprinted up the marble steps, then burst through the shatte
