Chapter 57: Bottled Tears

I stared at Daniel in awe, and though I knew he was intentionally making me uncomfortable, I couldn't help the heat running to my face. There wasn't any meaning behind that, right?

I plastered a blank expression and continuously blinked my eyes. An awkward silence consumed us, as I waited for him to continue.

I wasn't sure if I should be flattered about it, but it didn't feel right. All I felt was anxiousness, and Lindsey's confession started to linger in my head. He couldn't be serious. He couldn't like a person like me. I was far from an interesting woman.

I stifle a laugh, trying to shake off the awkwardness in my tone. I suddenly felt uncomfortable, and my hands began to sweat.

"You're funny." I chuckled, lightly shaking my head in disbelief.

"You know what's funny?" He laughed. "Your face when I told you that I like you."
