Kane and Jacob had been sat chatting for quite a while when the alarm suddenly sounded causing them both to jump into action. Jacob growled angrily as he and Kane shifted into their wolf forms. They were followed by their warrior men. They hurried into the woods around the pack border within minutes. All over were rogues. Jacob felt one try to attack his back to which he reacted by ripping his head off. Snarls and growls could be heard all around as wolves of all shapes and sizes fought each other. Quickly the rogues were defeated and destroyed. Kane and Jacob were furious that rogues had tried to attack them.
“Dirty filthy rogues.” Jacob boomed angrily as he stepped on one of their heads. Kane growled in response as one of the rogues was still alive but clearly very injured. He could not get up and Kane instantly jumped and killed the rogue. “That will teach them for crossing into my pack.” Jacob laughed to his brother. Kane nodded In agreement. “What is it?” Jacob asked noticing his brothers eyes flash black as he seemed to be mind linking with somebody. “Cherry. Her parents have met one of Maria’s guests. A young girl. She’s having problems with someone. They are bringing her to their pack house.” Kane informed Jacob causing him to frown on disapproval. Wolves and humans mixing was not a good idea in his opinion. “Why would they bring a human to the packhouse? Does Alpha Damon approve of that?” Jacob did not like the idea of a human being near his pack house. They were not trustworthy. What if they tried to destroy the whole werewolf kind. Kane did not seem to concerned about that. “Cherry’s parents would not do anything to risk our kind.” Jacob knew that he was right but that did not stop him having concerns. “Let’s get back to the packhouse.” Kane nodded and together they and the rest of the men hurried back as quickly as they could. Alpha Derek was waiting on the steps for them. “What was it? Rogues? How many?” He wanted to know. Kane put his hand up to calm his father. “Yes, rogues. We have dealt with them and they won’t be bothering us again. I have some things to deal with.” Kane said excusing himself and going off to find his mate. Jacob stood in front of his father in silence. Alpha Derek was still annoyed with his son but he knew grudges were a waste of them especially as if upset his Luna and he did not want to cause her any more stress. “You will find your mate. You need your Luna by your side.” Alpha Derek told his son who just nodded and did not say a word. He knew deep down his father was correct but he still did not like the idea of it. He also did not want to waste his time arguing with his father so he excused himself and headed for his office where he could sit in peace to think. Fiona and David were waiting outside their huge complex when Maria pulled up outside. She turned to look at Mia and offered her a warm smile. Mia unbuckled herself, sat up straight and pulled her bag onto her lap. “It’s going to be alright.” Maria assured her confidently because she knew Mia would be safe and protected here. Fiona strolled over to them and opened the door on Mia’s side. Mia jumped out and gave her a big hug. Fiona was like a motherly figure to everyone. Mia felt a strange sense of calm hit her when she hugged Fiona. “Everything will be fine. You are very much safe here. Please do not worry.” David insisted in a firm tone that made Mia nod. She believed them. “Welcome to our home.” Fiona led Mia and Maria to the house. Mia could not help but feel fascinated by her surroundings. There were acres and acres of forestry around them, the apartment was huge compared to her old house. There was even a balcony which over looked a massive swimming pool. Mia was overwhelmed with excitement and wished she could afford her own place like that. One day. She promised herself. Fiona and Maria chuckled at Mia’s enthusiasm. David prepared four hot mugs of coffee. “Would you like to meet our daughter, Cherry?” Fiona asked Mia. She sipped her coffee and looked across the table at her guest who nodded with a smile. “You would get on great with our Cherry. She’s married to the Alpha’s son and .. oh I mean well she’s married to our friends son.” David explained, he stumbled over his words but Mia did not seem to notice or she just did not respond to it. Fiona glanced at her husband and hoped that Mia did not question what he meant by Alpha. They both knew that Mia was unaware of their world. They would need to gain her trust before throwing that out there because the last thing they wanted to do was upset or confuse her. The four of them turned as the front door clicked open and the sound of footsteps sounded. Then a female voice called out. “Mum, Dad. Are you here?” It was Cherry and judging by the look on her parents faces they were not expecting her this soon. Fiona jumped up to greet her daughter while David made more coffee. Mia glanced at Maria who winked and smiled. Mia knew she shouldn’t be nervous but she worried that Cherry would not like her. Her stepfather always teased her for being a loner and said it was because nobody wanted to hang around with a freak. “Hello Mia, so pleased to meet you.” Cherry came bounding into the kitchen with her mother in tow. She was grinning from ear to ear and Mia instantly felt at ease. This girl had a vibe about her that screamed happiness and positivity. She held out her hand to Mia as she greeted her. Mia smiled back and shook her hand. “Would you like to go for a swim? A few of my girlfriends are already coming?“ cherry’s eyes twinkled as she spoke. Mia nodded and got up to follow Cherry to the top of the house where she had a huge room full of clothes. It was like her very own shop. “Wow you are so lucky.” Mia said with wide eyes. She was blown away by how beautiful the clothes were. Cherry rifled through some until she pulled out a beautiful pink bikini top and bottoms. She held them up and then walked over to Mia. “Here you go. These will be perfect for your figure. You can keep it.” Cherry offered her the swimming clothes and Mia took it gratefully. “Wow, thanks so much.” Mia gasped rushing to try it on. “You’re welcome.” Cherry shrugged. It was no big deal to her.The den was quiet as Mia sat in the glow of the fire, her newborn daughter nestled in her arms. The soft crackling of embers filled the room, mingling with the gentle rhythm of the baby's breathing. Jacob had stepped out for a moment, no doubt checking the perimeter of their territory, but Mia felt a sense of peace settle over her, a feeling of contentment that wrapped around her like a warm embrace. As she looked down at her sleeping child, a sense of wonder washed over her. This tiny life, so new and innocent, held within her the promise of a future filled with endless possibilities. Mia's heart swelled with love and gratitude, knowing that she and Jacob had created something truly magical together. The den door creaked open, and Jacob entered, his eyes sparkling with awe as he beheld the sight before him. He crossed the room in swift strides, dropping to his knees beside Mia and the baby, his gaze filled with adoration."She's perfect," Jacob whispered, his voice barely above a bre
The morning sun filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a warm glow over Mia's sleeping form. She stirred, slowly blinking her eyes open as the remnants of a vivid dream clung to the edges of her consciousness. A soft smile tugged at her lips as she reached out, her fingers brushing against the cool sheets beside her – Jacob must have already risen for the day.As Mia shifted to sit up, a sudden wave of nausea washed over her, causing her to clutch her stomach and squeeze her eyes shut. She took a few deep breaths, willing the queasiness to pass, but the sensation lingered, a persistent reminder that something felt... off.Frowning, Mia tried to recall if she had eaten anything unusual the previous day, but her mind came up blank. It was then that a flicker of realization began to dawn on her – the nausea, the fatigue, the subtle changes in her body that she had dismissed as mere stress.Could it be...?Her heart began to race as she mentally tallied the signs, her breath catching
Gentle beams of the morning sun pierced through the dense foliage of the forest surrounding the pack's territory, announcing the dawn of a new day. Mia awoke to the sound of birdsong, their melodic chatter a stark contrast to the emotional tumult of the previous day. Despite the visit to her mother stirring a whirlwind of feelings, there was a serene sense of hope that settled within her, soothing the raw edges of old wounds.Jacob stirred beside her, his sleepy eyes opening to meet hers. "Good morning," he murmured, his voice rough with sleep, yet filled with warmth. The bond they shared, always a palpable presence, seemed to deepen further in moments like these, grounding and uplifting Mia simultaneously."Good morning," Mia replied, her hand reaching out to trace the contour of Jacob’s jaw. Their shared look conveyed not just love but a mutual understanding of everything they had been through and the journey that lay ahead.Today, however, was not just another day. It marked the beg
In the vast expanse where the untamed wilderness met the fringes of civilization, the Horizon pack carved out its sanctuary. It was to this place that Abigail found herself banished, her past a shadow that clung to her steps, heavy with regret and defiance. The pack, under the leadership of Alpha Corbin, offered her refuge—but it was the kindness and understanding of Elias, the pack's second in command, that offered her a glimmer of hope for redemption. One crisp morning, as dawn painted the sky in hues of gold and cerise, Elias approached Abigail during her solitary wanderings along the edge of the pack's territory. "The wilderness is a great teacher," he began, his voice gentle yet carrying an undercurrent of strength. "It teaches us about resilience, about the strength that comes from facing our hardships head-on. You've been given a second chance, Abigail. Not many receive such a gift."Abigail regarded him warily, unused to being addressed without contempt or suspicion. "And what
The dusk had painted the sky in hues of orange and purple, a serene backdrop to the day's end. Antonio, known among his kin as the Lycan King, stood at the edge of the forest that bordered the pack's territory, his gaze lost in the horizon's silhouette. Despite his aging frame, he emanated a sense of timeless strength and authority, commanding respect from all who knew him.Jacob approached him, his steps measured and respectful. Despite their previous interactions, marked by goodwill and understanding, this meeting carried a different weight for Jacob. It was not just as the Alpha of his pack or as Mia's chosen mate that he came but as a man seeking the approval of the elder who had seen generations rise and fall, who had guided his family through tumultuous times with wisdom and courage."Antonio," Jacob greeted, his tone conveying both respect and an underlying nervousness.Antonio turned, his expression softening as he laid eyes on the younger man. "Jacob," he acknowledged, nodding
The journey to the hospital was enveloped in a thick, silence, one that was filled with a mixture of apprehension and a flickering hope. The sun set in a blaze of color, casting long shadows that stretched across the road, mirroring the complex emotions that interlaced within Mia’s heart. Sitting beside her in their vehicle was Jacob, his presence a steady reassurance of support and strength. His hand found hers, their fingers intertwining as if to say, "I’m here, no matter what lies ahead."Jacob squeezed Mia's hand as they entered the hospital, his loving eyes offering silent encouragement. They made their way through the sterile corridors, the antiseptic smell mingling with the low murmur of voices and the occasional beep of medical equipment, a constant reminder of the fragility of human life. Finally, they stood outside Dawn's room, a deep breath drawn by Mia as she prepared to face her mother, to bridge the gap that years of misunderstandings and hurt had created. Jacob's presenc
