A couple of days passed after the conversation I had with Alex. We came to the decision that after the whole thing settles down, we’ll be able to buy the bookshop and turn it into a public library.

But for now, we wait. And waiting was draining the soul out of me.

Being pregnant again, to the love of my life, was one of the greatest things to happen to me. Just knowing that I was carrying my mate’s child, brings tears to my eyes every time. I'd only been able to dream of this all my life, but now I’m living in my fantasy world.

Still, I couldn’t help but be mildly irritated by the way people around me treated me, especially Alex. Everyone was tiptoeing around me, treating me as if I were delicate and could shatter easily.

I get it, their intentions were kind, but sometimes it felt overwhelming. I was just pregnant, not fragile.
