The cool morning breeze attacked my skin like pins. I wanted nothing more than to go back home and curl into the king-sized bed, but this was it. Finally, the time for retaliation has come.

Alex noticed my silence and intertwined his fingers with mine, squeezing my hand tightly. I managed a weak smile and stared down at the town in front of me.

It was strange. The one place I thought to be my home, was the one keeping me restrained, was the one place where I couldn’t be who I wanted to be because I was afraid of the public view of me.

Now that I’ve experienced a taste of freedom, a taste of peace and happiness, I’m ready to close that chapter of my life. Even if it means storming down and declaring war right at this moment.
