The Battle Beneath the Eclipse

The first clash shook Blackfang to its foundations.

Steel struck steel.

Claws tore through armor.

The howls of wolves filled the valley as Valerion soldiers surged toward the fortress gates, their red-and-gold banners whipping violently in the wind.

Above them, the false eclipse covered the moon.

Kael stood on the highest battlement, staring down at the battlefield.

His heart hammered.

Not from fear.

From the strange pull beneath his skin.

The Moon Seal on his chest burned like a living flame.

“Kael!”

Lucien's voice cut through the chaos.

Kael turned.

The Alpha King stood several steps behind him, sword in hand, black hair disheveled from battle. Blood streaked one side of his face, though Kael couldn't tell if it was his.

His crimson eyes met Kael's amber ones.

For one brief second, everything else disappeared.

The army.

The screams.

The prophecy.

The Moon.

There was only Lucien.

“Stay behind me,” Lucien said.

Kael frowned.

“No.”

Lucien's eyebrow lifted.

“No?”

“I said no.”

A faint smile touched Lucien's mouth despite the chaos.

“You really don't make things easy.”

“I never promised I would.”

Their eyes remained locked.

Then Lucien stepped closer.

Not touching.

Never without permission.

“I need you alive,” he said quietly.

Kael's chest tightened.

“Because I'm the Moon-Chosen?”

Lucien shook his head.

“Because you're Kael.”

The words struck harder than any weapon.

Before Kael could answer, a massive explosion shook the eastern wall.

They both turned.

The gate had fallen.

Valerion soldiers poured into the city.

“Darius!” Lucien shouted.

The Beta general appeared below the battlement.

“Your Majesty!”

“Take half the guards and hold the eastern district.”

Darius nodded.

“And the rest?”

Lucien looked toward Kael.

“With me.”

Kael's eyes narrowed.

“You're giving me an order?”

“No.”

Lucien looked directly at him.

“I'm asking you to fight beside me.”

Kael smiled.

“That I can accept.”

They jumped from the battlement.

Kael landed first.

His body shifted before his feet touched the ground.

Bones twisted.

Silver fur exploded across his skin.

His wolf hit the earth with a powerful growl.

Lucien shifted beside him.

A massive black wolf stood where the King had been.

Crimson eyes burned beneath the false darkness.

Kael's wolf stared at him.

Mate.

The word echoed inside his mind.

He pushed it away.

Not yet.

Lucien's wolf answered.

Choice.

Kael's ears lifted.

Then they charged.

The battlefield became a blur.

Kael tore through the first line of soldiers while Lucien attacked from the opposite side.

They moved together without speaking.

Left.

Right.

Turn.

Strike.

It was almost instinctive.

Too instinctive.

The Moon Bond pulsed between them every time their bodies moved within reach of one another.

Kael hated how natural it felt.

He hated even more that part of him loved it.

A soldier lunged at Lucien from behind.

Kael saw him first.

He slammed into the soldier, knocking him away.

Lucien spun.

Their eyes met.

For a heartbeat, both wolves froze.

Then Lucien lowered his head slightly.

A silent thank you.

Kael looked away.

Don't.

His wolf growled.

You care.

I know.

Across the battlefield, Varek watched them.

His expression darkened.

“So,” he muttered. “The bond has already strengthened.”

Beside him, one of the Valerion commanders bowed.

“Should we separate them?”

Varek's eyes remained fixed on Kael.

“No.”

He smiled coldly.

“Let them grow closer.”

The commander looked confused.

“Why?”

“Because when the Moon Bond fully awakens, the King will become Kael's greatest weakness.”

A horn sounded.

The soldiers suddenly stopped attacking.

Kael's wolf raised its head.

Something was wrong.

The wind changed.

The scent of blood disappeared.

Even the wolves went silent.

Then the ground beneath Blackfang cracked.

A deep rumble came from below.

Lucien shifted back.

“Everyone retreat!”

The command echoed through the city.

But it was too late.

A silver light burst from beneath the palace.

Kael dropped to his knees.

Pain ripped through his chest.

His Moon Seal burned brighter than it ever had before.

“Kael!”

Lucien rushed toward him.

Kael grabbed his arm.

“Don't!”

Lucien stopped immediately.

Kael's eyes widened.

“I can hear something.”

“What?”

“A voice.”

The ground cracked again.

A whisper moved through the battlefield.

Not from the soldiers.

Not from the wolves.

From beneath the earth.

Moonblood.

Kael's breath caught.

The silver light spread across the battlefield, forming a giant crescent beneath the feet of both armies.

Every wolf froze.

Then one by one, they lowered their heads.

Even the Alphas.

Varek stared in horror.

“No…”

Lucien looked around.

“What is happening?”

Kael stood slowly.

“I think…”

He swallowed.

“The Moon Gate is opening.”

A deep sound echoed beneath them.

Like an ancient door unlocking.

Then the entire battlefield went dark.

When the light returned, the soldiers were gone.

Not dead.

Gone.

Kael looked around.

The battlefield had transformed.

The fortress walls were covered in silver vines.

The black stone beneath their feet had become pale marble.

The sky above them was no longer dark.

It was filled with stars.

Lucien stood beside Kael, sword still in hand.

Darius and Rowan appeared several meters away.

“Where are we?” Darius whispered.

Kael looked toward the palace.

It was no longer Blackfang.

A massive silver castle stood in its place.

And above its tallest tower floated a crescent moon.

Kael's heart began to race.

He recognized the place.

Not because he had seen it before.

Because his blood remembered it.

A figure appeared at the top of the stairs.

A man wearing an ancient silver crown.

His hair was white.

His eyes were amber.

And his face looked strangely familiar.

Kael couldn't breathe.

The man smiled.

“My heir.”

Kael took a step backward.

“No.”

The figure descended one step.

“You have returned.”

“Who are you?”

The man looked toward Lucien.

Then his expression changed.

“And you brought the Alpha King.”

Lucien stepped forward.

“Who are you?”

The figure's gaze returned to Kael.

“The last king of the Moon Kingdom.”

Silence fell.

Kael stared at him.

“If you're the last king…”

The man smiled sadly.

“Then you should know who you are.”

Kael's hands trembled.

The man raised his hand.

The silver pendant around Kael's neck suddenly floated into the air.

The crescent symbol glowed.

Then it transformed.

A crown appeared above Kael's head.

Not a physical crown.

A mark of silver light.

The ancient wolves around the castle bowed.

Rowan fell to one knee.

Darius stared in disbelief.

Lucien did not kneel.

Instead, he walked to Kael's side.

Kael looked at him.

“Why aren't you kneeling?”

Lucien's expression softened.

“Because you never asked me to.”

Kael's heart skipped.

The ancient king watched them closely.

Then he smiled.

“Perhaps the prophecy was wrong.”

Kael frowned.

“Wrong?”

The king looked at Lucien.

“Perhaps the Moon did not choose a king and his protector.”

His gaze shifted back to Kael.

“Perhaps it chose two people who must learn that neither can possess the other.”

The silver light around Kael intensified.

And somewhere beyond the castle walls, a terrible roar shook the sky.

The ancient king's smile disappeared.

“They have found the gate.”

Lucien tightened his grip on his sword.

“Who?”

The king looked toward the horizon.

“The ones who destroyed the Moon Kingdom.”

Kael's blood ran cold.

“They're coming for me?”

“No.”

The king's eyes hardened.

“They are coming for both of you.”

Lucien looked at Kael.

Kael looked back.

For the first time, neither of them tried to deny the bond between them.

But neither called it love.

Not yet.

Because somewhere beyond the silver forest, thousands of wolves began to howl.

And the ancient king whispered:

“The war for the Moon Throne has finally begun.”

  • His Moon Chosen Omega    The Feather in the Throne

The black feather lay on the broken stone. No one moved. Kael stared at it. He knew that feather. He had seen one before. Eighteen years ago, when he was still a child hidden deep within Moonwood, a single black feather had appeared on the windowsill of his home. The same symbol had marked the Shadow Hunters. But this one felt different. Colder. Older. Kael slowly crouched and picked it up. The moment his fingers touched it, pain shot through his hand. He dropped it. A flash of silver filled the chamber. For a heartbeat, Kael saw a woman standing beneath an Eclipse Moon. Elara. But she wasn't alone. Beside her stood a man wearing a black crown. Kael couldn't see his face. Then Elara turned toward him. Her lips moved. He is not your enemy. The vision vanished. Kael staggered. Lucien caught him. “Kael.” He looked at Lucien. “I saw my mother.” “What did she say?” Kael glanced at the feather. “She said not to trust the Hollow Kin

  • His Moon Chosen Omega    The Blood Beneath the Mountain

The mountain moved again. A deep crack tore across its surface, splitting the black stone from the peak to the valley floor. Kael stood motionless. Something was alive beneath it. He could feel the presence through his Moon Seal. Not a wolf. Not exactly. Something older. Something that recognized him. Lucien stepped closer. “Stay behind me.” Kael shook his head. “Not this time.” Lucien looked at him. Kael held his gaze. “I don't know what's down there. But whatever it is, it's connected to me.” Lucien lowered his sword. “Then I stay beside you.” Kael gave him a small smile. “That I can agree to.” Azrael watched them. “You two are beginning to understand the bond.” Kael looked at him. “You keep talking as if you know what it is.” “I do.” “Then explain it.” Azrael's golden eyes moved toward the mountain. “Not here.” A roar interrupted him. The ground shook. Several Council soldiers fell to their knees. Then something emerged from the smoke. A creature. I

  • His Moon Chosen Omega    The Forgotten Moon-Born

Kael kept his hand against the ancient carving. The stone was cold.Yet beneath his palm, something moved.A faint pulse.Almost like a heartbeat. He pulled his hand away.“Why did no one tell me this?”Aeron lowered his eyes.“Because most of the records were destroyed.”“By whom?”“The people who came after him.”Kael turned.“Why?”Aeron took a slow breath.“Because the First Moon-Born proved something the powerful did not want remembered.”Kael waited.“That an Omega could lead without becoming an Alpha.”The words settled heavily in the corridor.Kael looked back at the carving. The Omega in the ancient image wasn't standing beneath an Alpha. He was standing beside one.Equal.Neither above the other.Lucien moved closer.“And the Alpha beside him?”“The First Guardian.”Kael studied the two figures.“They ruled together?”Aeron nodded.“Not as king and servant. Not as master and protector.”He looked at Kael.“As partners.”Something about the word made Kael's chest tighten. He
