Amelia came out from the bathroom after helping her husband prepare his bath.
"I've helped you prepare your bath, how you used to like it." She said dotingly like a good wife.
Thiago came out from the walk-in closet, holding a file of papers on his hand. He slapped the paper on the table and said coldly, "look through it and sign under where your name is. I've signed mine."
Amelia curiously walked over to the table and peer at the papers.
She felt a chill down her spine as she immediately understood what the paper is about.
Amelia Smith stared at the signed divorce papers on the table, the man’s name already inked.
She looked out the window, tears welling up in her eyes.
Thiago Anderson figure was especially elegant in the setting sun, his aloofness and dominance making him incredibly attractive, even his silhouette seemed indifferent.
“I’ve signed, you should too. I hope we can get through all the legal stuff before Veronica gets back.” Thiago stood with his hands behind his back, not turning around. “Since we signed a prenuptial agreement, there won’t be any property disputes in the divorce. I’ll give you two million dollars and a villa in Vine as compensation. I need to explain to grandpa that you’re not leaving empty-handed.”
Amelia felt like she was struck by lightning, a sudden sense of loss washing over her. “Grandpa… does he know we’re getting a divorce?”
“Does it matter if he knows? Will it affect my decision to divorce you?”
Her frail body nearly collapsed, but she held onto the table, her eyes brimming with tears as she whispered, “Thiago, can we…. not get divorced?”
Finally, Thiago turned to look at her with a strange gaze.
His deep eyes and thin lips were incredibly sexy, and his clear facial features still made her heart race.
“Why?”
“Because… I love you.” Amelia eyes turned red as she held back tears. “I love you, Thiago. I still want to be your wife… even if you don’t have any feelings for me…”
“I’m sick of it, Amelia. A marriage without love is endless torture for me.”
Thiago waved dismissively, not even having the patience to hear her speak. “Marrying you was a mistake, you knew it was a rebellion against grandpa, and you knew I had someone else in my heart, I just couldn’t be with her for some reasons.
Now that the agreed three years are up, and Acacia is back in the country, I’m going to marry her, so you need to leave this house.”
Amelia lowered her head, her tear drops falling onto the table, which she secretly wiped away.
Thiago saw this, his gaze deep and calm.
Then his phone rang, and as soon as he saw the name on the screen, he answered right away.
“Veronica, are you on the plane yet?”
His tone suddenly became so gentle. Was this the same cold, indifferent man from before?
“Thiago, I’m already at Stamford Airport.” Veronica Scott's cheerful voice came from the other end.
“What? Weren’t you supposed to…” Thiago was surprised.
“I wanted to surprise you.”
“Wait for me, Amelia, I’ll be right there!”
With that, Thiago hurriedly left Amelia's side.
The door to the study was closed, and the air was filled with a sense of sadness.
Her ten years of unrequited love for him, their three-year marriage… Amelia had given her all to this home. Her deep affection for him, however, was nothing more than torture to him.
Now, Thiago was like a prisoner who had finally been set free, he ruthlessly left her behind to go marry the woman he had always held in his heart.
She felt so much pain, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t touch his cold heart.
Amelia took a deep breath, shaking her head with a bitter smile, her eyes filled with tears as they stared at Thiago’ name on the divorce papers.
That night, Thiago brought Amelia back to Bloom Estate.
The frail Veronica was carried in the arms of the young Anderson's heir, their brazen entrance attracting everyone’s attention.
“Thiago, you and Ms. Amelia aren’t divorced yet, we… shouldn’t be too intimate, she might have an issue with me if she sees us like this.” Amelia whispered, her hand stroking the man’s chest.
“She won’t.”
Thiago stated without hesitation, his gaze cold. “Besides, I don’t love her, our marriage was just a contractual agreement, she should know her place.”
The Anderson warmly greeted Amelia, leaving only Amelia alone in the kitchen preparing dinner.
Thiago noticed his desolate wife in the crowd, a smile tugging at his lips.
She was still trying to curry favor with the Anderson' in such a submissive manner. Did she really think that would make him change his mind?
Ridiculous.
“My lord! My lord!”
Soon after, the butler rushed over in a panic. “Mrs. Anderson is gone! She’s left!”
“Gone? When?"
“Just now! She didn’t take anything, just took off her apron and left through the back yard! A black car came to pick her up!”
Thiago quickly returned to their bedroom, which was neat and tidy, he saw the signed divorce papers quietly resting on the nightstand, tear stains evident on it.
He frowned, walking over to the window to look outside.
A Rolls Royce sped away from Bloom Estate at a breakneck speed, soon disappearing from sight.
She couldn’t bear to leave the Anderson estate in the afternoon, yet now she was running away so fast!
Thiago felt played, taking out his phone to call his secretary in annoyance.
“License plate E W A 2424, find out who owns that car!”
"Right away, Mr. Thiago.”
Five minutes later.
“Mr. Thiago. I’ve found it, it’s the CEO of the Hamilton Group!”
The Hamilton Group… the Hamilton family’s young master?!
Amelia, a girl from a small village with no money or background, who had no friends in the three years she was with him, was somehow with the Hamilton young master?
How surprising!
“But Mr. Thiago, did you really propose the divorce to Mrs. Anderson today?” The secretary asked tentatively.
“Why? When should I propose divorce?” Thiago was seething.
“But today… It’s her birthday.”
Thiago froze.
Sitting in the backseat of a black Rolls-Royce, the eldest son of the Hamilton family, Ethan Hamilton, gently held her hand, his demeanor kind.
"Heard you were coming back, we’ve got a whole bunch of fireworks ready to light up for you tonight.”
"I’m really not in the mood for fireworks.”
Having left the Anderson family and reclaimed her status as the Hamilton family heiress, she leaned on her brother’s shoulder, her nose stinging, her eyes swollen and red. She sighed, her eyes brimming with tears.
She glanced at her old phone, the last message wasn’t from her ex-husband, but Amelia.
The message read: [I told you, you stole my spot, and I’ll make you give it back one day. Thiago is my man, stop daydreaming!]
She gave a bitter smile, the last tear making everything clear to her.
“What? You still can’t let go even now?” Ethan tenderly pulled his sister into his arms.
“Ethan, it’s my birthday today.”
“I know, Thiago deliberately chose today to bring that woman home, he’s such a shameless jerk!”
“So, there’s nothing I can’t let go of, because my heart-Amelia's heart, has been shattered by Thiago.”
When Amelia opened her eyes again, there was no trace of any lingering affection for that man in her determined eyes. She would use her former identity, Kira Hamilton, to live a good life from now on!
“I struggled hard to get to where I am now, if I look back, I’ll regret it.”
In the study, both Helen and Jasmine were present. Elijah would naturally not let James over. In his eyes, James was on Thiago's side. At this point, the father and son were almost entirely at odds. It seemed that ever since Cynthia, Thiago's biological mother, committed suicide, they were left with a relationship in name only. The chasm between them, now aggravated by Kira, was exactly what Helen wanted to see. Only when they were at loggerheads, each on their own side, could she take advantage of the chaos and profit from the Anderson Group! Even if Elijah was the father of this illegitimate child, what did it matter? “I called you over to inform you of something.” Elijah, with a cold face, sat on the sofa and casually threw a freshly printed appointment letter in front of Thiago, “I have decided to officially hire Cedric as the legal advisor of the Anderson Group, also as the head of the legal department. This appointment will be issued first thing tomorrow morning. I have
Whenever Kira showed up, it was as if a tornado had swept through the Anderson family, leaving nothing but chaos and discord in its wake. Kira didn’t have the time or the inclination to explain herself to James, believing that the truth would eventually come to light. Besides, she had already had a taste of Cedric’s character from William and Elizabeth. If he could pull strings to get Jasmine out of a sticky situation, it meant he had taken care of any potential threats, Even if she knew that he had framed Kevin, the police had already closed the case and it was not likely to be reopened. Cedric’s smile could be as charming as a gentleman, but his actions were as treacherous as a snake in the grass. James, on the other hand, had no intention of making things difficult for her, After all, he trusted her. He had seen her genuine, golden heart. And if he couldn’t trust Amelia, who else could he trust in this world? Kira personally wheeled James back to his room, with Thiago followi
Kira could feel the heat radiating from Thiago's palm, wave after wave washing over her skin. She thought, “Crazy man! What’s gotten into you again? Take off your dirty hand!” As if sensing her attempt to break free, the man’s fingers nearly crushed her shoulder, gripping her with a force that felt like they were fused together. The sight of the former husband and wife being so intimate startled everyone! Only James, their grandfather, sported a surprised yet relieved grin. His previously suppressed mood instantly blossomed, his mouth agape with joy. He thought, “Oh my! Have Amelia and Thiago gotten back together? But Amelia doesn’t seem to be too pleased, does she?” Well, whether it’s relentless pursuit or forced courtship, his grandson’s thick skull finally seems to have a crack of understanding! Any progress in their relationship was worth celebrating with fireworks! Kira, having had enough, took advantage of the distraction. She slowly lifted her foot and stomped down hard.
A powerful retort from Kira made Cedric feel as though his mask of pretense was ripped off, exposing the shameful title of an ungrateful man hovering over his head Kira thought, “Wishing to distance yourself from the Hamilton, are you? Alright. But I will make sure to stir the pot. Your secrets hidden in the dark, I’ll drag them out into the light!” Cedric’s lips tightened, his face still adorned with a smile, but his gaze on Kira held no trace of mirth. Instead, it held an icy chill. Was this the woman Jason was head over heels in love with? Pampered, arrogant, sharp–tongued! To bring such a troublesome woman into the Dempsey household would only cause chaos. Peaceful days would be a thing of the past! The atmosphere became tense and awkward. Elijah thought Kira was nothing short of a disaster. Every time she appeared, a storm was sure to follow! Cedric’s abilities as a lawyer were undisputed, and Elijah had always wanted him on his side. But he didn’t know about this connect
Thiago delivered his statement with a thunderous voice, then strode off, leaving the room with his head held high. Cedric remained motionless where he stood, his body flushed with a cold sting of embarrassment. Born into a prominent family of lawyers, he was always held in high regard by his parents and adored by his younger siblings. He was well respected among the legal fraternity of Hemsworth.Even the wealthiest tycoons would make concessions just to have him handle their cases. When had he ever experienced such humiliation? Wait a minute. Cedric scowled, turning to look at Thiago's retreating figure. What was the nature of his relationship with Kira? And why was Thiago, a man known for his reserved nature, so enraged on her behalf? He knew Kira, the Hamilton family’s precious gem. She was a woman of celestial beauty, set high above the common folk. She had the world at her fingertips, yet she barely paid any mind to the average man. There was only one possibility. Thiago,
Cedric had Elijah pull strings to suppress the news, but it still reached Thiago at the first instance. “Why was Jasmine released? Didn’t you keep an eye on Caroline? Did you let Cedric get close to her?” Thiago's stern face was as cold as frost, and he punched the car window in frustration. “Mr. Thiago, Caroline wasn’t the problem. It was Kevin!” Mateo was so angry his eyes turned green, “Our informant relayed that Cedric, under the guise of a proxy lawyer and with Elijah's aid, visited Kevin at the detention center in secret. Whatever he said scared Kevin into taking the blame for everything, thus Jasmine was naturally cleared of suspicion!” “What else could he have done but exploit his weakness, threatening the safety of his family! A top–tier lawyer even resorted to such despicable means!” Thiago's hazel eyes were shrouded in a deep, ominous gloom, like a stormy sea before a tsunami and his fists shook with suppressed rage. “The honorable reputation of Justice is utterly ruine
Kira didn’t bat an eyelid. She was well aware of Helen's two-faced nature. All the information sent a clear message to Elizabeth: 'not only was she dumped by Thiago, but she was also a poor girl scrambling for a rich man to survive.' was actually what she meant by her words.A wicked smirk crept u
Thiago was blown away, his heart pounding like a drum. His eyes bugged out at the sight of his gentle and humble ex-wife, who now appeared audacious and even capable of violence.“Amelia, did you really do this?” Thiago asked, his gaze locked on her.Kira began to smile, her beautiful face instantl
“Oh man, Veronica, you okay?” Helen was taken aback, yet couldn’t help but chuckle a bit.Seeing this. Thiago rushed over, bent down to pull Veronica up from the ground, but she wouldn’t budge. “Thiago, I’m hurt all over, hold me.” Veronica was crying out loud, her knees numb from the fall.Kira st
