LOGINALICE'S POV
I drove into the mall and parked the car in the garage. Kayla and I walked into the mall laughing and chatting. However, our laughter was cut short the moment we sighted Megan shopping in the clothes section. Kayla scoffed in disgust as she cleared her throat noisily to get Megan's attention. Megan turned slightly with her face indifferent. “Oh, look who we have here. I wonder how many times you had to spread your legs to be able to afford that.” She pointed at the dress Megan was holding. Ignoring her, Megan rolled her eyes and proceeded to take out another dress from the display shelf. Furious, Kayla grabbed her arm rudely. “Hey. I'm talking to you.” “She thinks she can buy a discount dress at a luxury store.” I taunted, staring hatefully at her. Kayla and I laughed loudly. “And pretend to be a socialite.” I added. Kayla shook her head in a feign of pity. “You know what? It's actually kind of sad. You can put lipstick on a pig, but that doesn't stop it from being a pig.” “Funny.” Megan snapped. “Even if I'm dressed in a dress from the clearance rack. I'd have more than both of you.” Her cold words slapped us hard on the cheek as we exchanged glances at each other. The saleslady walked in, and Megan handed the dress she had picked to the lady. “I'll take this.” She politely uttered, and the lady nodded with a smile. Megan reached for her bag and brought out a card to pay for the dress with when Kayla snatched the dress from the saleslady rudely. “This is mine. I want this, remember?” With a cold glare, Megan snorted. “What is the meaning of that?” She shook her head, still maintaining a calm expression. “Anything you want, I'll take it. The dress, the man… Everything.” Her head was up high, and a smug smile was plastered on her face. “That's my girl.” I mouthed supportively. “What? Are you furious? Even the little beggar girl is angry?” Kayla laughed. “What? You think any reasonable man would want you and your bastard son?” She continued. However, her words were cut short by the slap Megan landed on her face. She staggered with her hand on her cheek, and her eyes popped out in astonishment. “If you ever mention my son's name again, I will destroy you. This is a promise.” She spoke in between gritted teeth with an expression I've never seen before. The air around her felt powerful for the first time. However, I managed to counter her in a bid to defend my best friend, Kayla. “How dare you hit my future sister-in-law? I will rip your face apart.” I angrily raised my hand to slap her, but she raised her hand, and instantly I felt a stronger power shake my hand. My eyes widened in shock as I stared at her fearfully. I couldn't bring my hand down or withdraw my hand. “What? How could you withstand the power of an alpha wolf?" With a snort, she brought her hand down forcefully, and I staggered back. Holding my hand in pain. How did she get so powerful? She ignored my question and turned to Kayla, whose face was red with fear. “If you want the dress so much, how about you buy it?” “This disgusting thing? If I want it, I can get a hundred of it.” Kayla proudly uttered. Megan clapped with a weird expression. “Good. Congratulations. She'll take a hundred. I'm sure that will meet your commission for the year, am I right?” She asked the saleslady, who readily nodded her head with her face beaming with a smile. “Madam, of course. A hundred dresses are coming right up.” The saleslady replied. With our ego high up in the sky, I nudged Kayla to get her card. She was about to pay with her card when the saleslady chipped in. “After the discount, ten thousand dollars per dress, and you want a hundred. That's one million dollars. How would you like to pay?” Kayla paused. Her eyes went from me to Megan and then to the saleslady, who had been grinning from ear to ear. “One million dollars?” She freaked out. “What? Isn't that like your allowance for 3 years, Kay? Have you forgotten your uncle cut your allowance in two?” I clasped my palm over my mouth with my eyes popped out. “You manipulative bitch! You tricked me into agreeing to buy a hundred dresses worth over a million dollars.” Kayla cried out in embarrassment. Megan smirked softly with her arms crossed. “Fine… Then don't buy them. I mean, a million dollars is not exactly pocket change for a debt-ridden family business, is it?” “If I pay for this, my family business will go broke and my uncle will kill me. If I don't, this shameless omega will ridicule me for the rest of my life.” Kayla thought, still holding onto the card in her hand. The saleslady's voice smacked her out of her thoughts. “Ma'am, are you paying or not?” “Of course, I'll take it. A million dollars? That's pocket change for me.” Kayla lied, handing the card to the saleslady. I nudged her gently, trying to stop her from paying, but she pushed me off gently. Of course, I'm aware that her family's business is going down the drain. Buying clothes for a million dollars would drag the business to the mud. Holy moly! How is Megan even able to afford a dress worth ten thousand dollars? Hasn't she been the orphan, the omega whom my brother married to spite Kayla? How did she get such overwhelming power and the money to shop in such a place? The saleslady was about to make the transaction when another lady walked in and stopped her. “You must be with Alpha Austin, am I right?” She smiled broadly at Kayla, who proudly tucked her hair behind her ear. “Yes, that's right.” We chorused. The lady continued. “He just purchased the entire store. You don't have to pay for anything.” Kayla's face lit up in excitement as she high-fived me. She turned to Megan with a smug expression. “See? Austin bought the entire store for me. And what do you have? Nothing.” “Time to crawl back to your little rock, my darling. Why are you still breathing in here, Megan? Leave now.” I commanded. Megan took a deep breath and turned to leave, but a voice stopped her. "No, she stays."MEGAN'S POV I held onto my head as I felt my eyes closing. My vision was blurry. “What did you do to me?”He cackled mischievously and sat down with his legs crossed. “Drink wasn't the only surprise tonight. Of course, I know you would find out that the drink was drugged.” Then, he pointed at the incense burner on the table, and I breathed heavily, trying hard to keep my eyes open. “That…. I already took the antidote, so it won't affect me or anyone in this room except you, Miss Prescott.” He laughed maliciously. “You're…. You're evil and don't deserve to live.” I managed to speak because I was almost losing my voice. He roared with laughter like I had just given him a compliment. “There's no need to act tough, Miss Prescott. Don't worry, I'll go gentle with you. Look at you now.” He snapped his finger, and everyone in the room left instantly. In the twinkle of an eye, the room became empty. Bending closer to me, he ran his fingers all over my body. “You look like a helpless litt
MEGAN'S POV I sat on the chair facing the desktop on the table, lost in thought and staring blankly at the screen of the computer. Then came a faint knock on the door of my office. I didn't even realize that the door of the office was swung open until Claire tapped the table and I blinked hard, turning to her. “Y… Yes?”“Miss Prescott, are you okay? You look lost, and that's bad for work.” She chipped in. I forced a smile. “It's nothing. How may I help you?” “Oh, you don't need to help me because you'll be needing a lot of that help for yourself.” She jokingly snapped. “I mean, as the project manager, you'll have to meet with Mr. Davison. He's quite a difficult man to please. You'll need him to sign, and then we can proceed with the other facilities.” She tried to sound caring, but in the real sense, it felt like she was mocking me.“Mr. Davison?” I mouthed with my eyes rolling. “Get me an appointment with him.” I readily replied, and she smiled mischievously.Picking up the files
AUSTIN'S POVI walked into the store, and Kayla rushed to me with wide arms and a beaming smile. “Oh, Austin. How sweet of you! You spoil me so much. Thank you for buying the entire store for me. You really…” She ran her hands from my chest down to my stomach. “You really didn't have to.” Immediately, I stared hard at her with arched eyebrows. “What are you talking about?” I pushed her hand away. “Who said I bought you anything?”Megan stared at both of us with an expressionless glare as she clutched my shoulder bag. The second saleslady chuckled nervously and started. “Uhm… Alpha, you said you bought the store for your wife. I naturally assumed… I mean, I saw you both.” She pointed at Austin and Kayla while talking. “I've seen you both on TV together, so she must be your wife, right?”“This is ridiculous!” Megan shook her head as she turned to leave, but I grabbed her arm. “No, Megan. You're my wife.”For a second, she became numb. After a few minutes of silence, she turned around

MEGAN'S POV My words seemed to throw Austin off balance. He stared at me, blinking rapidly. I could almost hear his heart beating fast. “What do you say, Alpha Austin Sinclair? I thought you wanted to save your little dream girl? I don't have all the time in the world.”“No, absolutely not.” He finally blurted out, to my surprise. My eyes widened in astonishment. “What?” I snapped at him.He shook his head." I said, No. I cannot give up my position in the Wolf's Joint Empire."“Then, we have absolutely nothing to talk about, Mr. Sinclair.”I turned to leave, but Kayla's voice made me turn around. She ran straight to Austin, shedding her usual false tears—nothing new.“Austin, your ex-wife is so cold-hearted. You know how important this eatery is to me, don't you? Just because she's whoring herself to the Alpha Prince, she has succeeded in getting me thrown out of here.” Kayla sniffed pretentiously. I shook my head in disgust. A drama queen will always be a drama queen. Kayla sharply
MEGAN'S POVLucien and I were seated at a fancy restaurant with the piping hot delicacies served in front of us. I sipped the cocktail slowly as he started. “How is your new job treating you? You know you could have just started as the MD?” “I don't want that yet, Lucien. I just started, and I hope it gets better.” I simply uttered, spooning the creamy pasta into my mouth. After a few seconds of silence, with a worried voice, Lucien added. “How are you coping with your ex-husband?”I choked. My gaze went from the plate to Lucien. “He's working as a partner of the company. Of course, I'm there to do my job, which is precisely what I've been doing.”“Megan, if you can't cope with him around you, do not hesitate to tell me. I'll do anything and everything to buy the shares back from him and…” Lucien was determined, but I interrupted him softly. “You don't have to. Austin and I are divorced. Whatever we had was in the past. Now, we're just co-workers or partners in a business place. That
