LOGINMelody’s POV
I was expecting to open my eyes and find myself still sprawled on the floor in the forest but when I opened them, I was met with darkness. "Was it night already?" I mumbled under my breath, feeling my heart race in anxiety. My throat felt parched like I hadn't had a drop of water in ages. My eyes wandered to my side and fell on a small window that was illuminating the space. I don't remember crawling into any room, so where was I? I slowly sat up from the floor, confusion etched on my features. My eyes danced across the dimly lit, unfamiliar space and my forehead creased in worry. What happened and where was I? I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen and crouched down as the pain shot up my spine. A wince escaped my lips as I held tightly to my stomach. I stared down at my legs and fear engulfed me at the sight of the dried blood between them. I gulped down nothing as I slowly raised my gown, tracing where the blood had come from. Tears clouded my eyes as an exasperated gasp left my lips when I realized there was a possibility that I might have lost my baby. But how did it happen? I remember I had felt severe pain while I was in the forest but can't seem to fathom what must have caused the pain. "It's you,” I suddenly heard a voice whisper beside me and almost jumped out of my skin. My eyes settled on an old woman, a few feet beside me. She wore a fading brown dress and held a weird looking stick. Her cheeks were sunken like she had not had anything to eat in years. I glanced up at her unkempt hair and shuddered in disgust. She stared down at me with a mix of curiosity and excitement in her eyes. What a creep! I scooted away from her but she came closer, her eyes gleaming with joy. I kept moving away from her and didn't realize when I reached the wall. A lopsided smile crossed her lips as she reached for me and grabbed me by my arm. Fear filled my body as she gazed directly into my eyes and began stroking my hair with her other arm. I whimpered in fear as I shook my head, trying to escape her grip but she didn't let go. Instead, she threw her head backward and let out a hearty laughter, causing cold chills to run down my spine. She stared down at me again, eyes twinkling with excitement. "I'm glad you're finally here," she uttered as she ran her finger on my chin. "All these years, I have been waiting for you, Child, I stayed alive to witness this moment. The day you will return to where you belong. Finally, the time is here" she beamed and slowly crouched to my level. It was now quite obvious that this strange woman was not okay in the head. I tried to free my hand from her grip but she held on firmly. Her actions were beginning to tick me off. "Let me go!" I screamed at her but she didn't budge and just kept staring at me. "Can't you hear me? I said let me go!" "It’s a good thing the child in your belly is gone," she said, pointing to my belly and I froze. "It would have only brought you bigger problems and hindered you from doing what you need to do.” I stared at her in shock, using my free arm to shield my belly. Who was she and how did she know I was pregnant? I was about to question her when I heard the door opening. The old hag instantly released me and hurried off to sit in her position. I was confused about what was going on. A lot of questions swirled in my head as I watched two men, dressed in uniforms approach me. I could instantly tell they were guards of another pack and without saying a word, they hauled me up from the floor. I allowed them without struggling as I didn't have any strength left in me. The guards began to pull me towards the door and I followed without complaints, wondering where they were taking me to. "Make sure you stay alive at all costs! Do not let the rogue alpha kill you," I heard the old woman scream behind me and sighed heavily, her request was the least of my worries at this moment. I was pulled into the hallway by the guards who hadn't spoken a word to me. I wondered if today was going to be my last day on earth. We finally came to a halt in front of a huge door and one of the guards on standby pushed the door open. I was thrown to the floor as soon as we entered the room and bruised my knees in the process. I didn't have the luxury to tend to my injured knees or study the space I was in as I was compelled to remain on all fours. The door opened again and I heard someone enter the room. This mysterious person possessed an aura so powerful that I felt chills run down my spine as he came closer to me. The guards stepped away and bowed respectfully, giving him space to sit in front of me. I felt overpowered by his presence and the need to show him my neck in a bid to express my submission overwhelmed me but I fought off the urge and remained still, staring at his feet which was the only part of his body that was visible to me. I wondered who he was and what he wanted with me. Curiosity got the best of me and I slowly raised my head to peer at this mysterious person. I was captivated by his emerald green eyes and gasped slightly, my mouth parted in shock as I gazed at his handsome features but everything faded as a sense of recognition washed over me. He was the Alpha rogue. I swallowed hard at the realization because I knew I had committed a great crime by trespassing into his territory and I knew I would not be making it out alive. My gaze remained fixed on him, taking in his features until a hard blow from one of the guards reminded me of my position. I immediately lowered my head, my heart racing in my chest. "Who are you and what are you doing in my territory?" He finally spoke up and I held my breath. He was eloquent, his voice sounded powerful and firm. I kept mute, unable to reply to his questions. I have heard news about the alpha rogue and how notorious he was. How do I explain to him that I was lost and didn't mean any harm? "You are a spy, aren't you? What I am interested in knowing is why you are here and who sent you?” his voice came up again and as if my eyes had a mind of their own, they traveled up to meet his once again. I felt my wolf going crazy inside of me, she pranced about, trying to communicate with me but I wouldn't let her and shut her down. I could not afford to do anything that I would regret. His eyes held emotions I couldn't fathom as we gazed at each other. They were soft, just as if he yearned for me or so my mind told me. I felt like going to him, to hold his hands in mine. The thought made me swallow hard and I lowered my eyes once more. Silence ensued in the hall for a few minutes before he spoke up again. "You have limited time. If you don't speak up and tell me who ordered you to come spy on me, you will be executed" he said with a tone of finality and snapped his finger at the guard. "Take her away" The guards instantly swung into action and pulled me up from the floor roughly. They began to drag me towards the door but before we got to the exit, I halted stubbornly. Without turning to look at the Alpha rogue, I spoke up confidently so that he heard me clearly. "I would prefer to be executed tonight. Besides, I have nothing else to live for."Epilogue Lucian's POV I returned to Moonblood Pack with my mate and her son. A few guards managed to survive the unplanned war and together we journeyed back home. I was successful in eliminating my enemies as well as those who worked for Damon and Connor but deep down, I felt pain and anguish at the condition the event landed Melody in. She was still unconscious from that day and all the doctors I had contacted, including Doctor Jones, said that there was nothing they could do to help. The witch on the other hand was nowhere to be found, she disappeared after that day and has not been seen by anybody despite my attempts to find her. I believed that she would know what's best to do to save Melody but all efforts to bring her back to the pack have remained futile. I was frustrated at how everything turned out, just when I thought everything was finally getting better, this happened and ruined everything. I should be celebrating my success in regaining the pack and restoring its glo
Lucian's POV It was the early hours of the morning of the day I had planned for us to attack Damon. Everything has been put in place and the warriors have been given orientation on how to go about the operation.I was in my room with Kade who was helping me put on my armor when a knock sounded on the door. Without waiting for me to invite him in, the door pushed open and Melody walked into the room. Her mouth formed an 'O' when her eyes landed on Kade and she immediately lowered her head in greetings. Her cheeks turned red with embarrassment as she fiddled with her fingers nervously.A smile spread on my lips, I almost chuckled at her cuteness. My gaze remained on her face as she stood on the threshold, not knowing whether to leave or stay. Kade noticed my stare and cleared his throat noisily, trying to get my attention. I directed my gaze to him and saw he was trying to help me with the cuffs on the armor. After cuffing them, he glanced between the two of us with raised brows. I c
Damon's POVThe remaining council members suddenly requested my presence and when I joined them in the meeting room, they bombarded me with questions regarding my reasons for imprisoning Amelia. "Don't you all have something better to talk about?" I asked nonchalantly as I took my spot on the table, "Your questions are unreasonable," "Alpha Damon, I deserve an explanation as to why my only daughter is in prison and what she did wrong. What is her crime?" Beta Connor asked, his voice cold and stern."Yes, Alpha, what has the Luna done wrong? Everyone in the pack is talking about it and it is causing an uproar," another councilman added."Speaking of an uproar, news has it that Eric, Alonso's only son was murdered in his house. Nobody knows who did it and why the person did it," the third councilman in the room spoke up. "It could possibly be one of his father's enemies," I muttered emotionlessly."I don't think so, Alpha, Alonso was a peaceful man," "Peaceful indeed, but he brought
Melody's POV A big smile stretched across my lips and my heart melted at his words. He was willing to try because of me? He'd accept the son of his enemy because he doesn't want me to leave his side. Never had I thought that I would be so important to someone that they'd dread my absence. My heart swelled with emotions as I gazed up at his pleading eyes, he really wanted me at his side. I reached for his face while standing on my tiptoes and pulled him into a kiss, pouring all my love for him into the kiss. He returned it passionately, pulling me by my waist to himself and relieving me of the stress of having to put my body weight on my toes. I moaned out as his skillful lips did wonders to my body, he was eating my lips up like it was his most favorite thing in the world. Before I could tell what was going on, he lifted me off the floor from my thighs, our lips still entangled in a deep kiss. I could feel his erection poking from under as his breath turned heavier. He laid me ge
Lucian's POV Kade looked like he wanted to argue but with one look at my face, he clamped his mouth and bobbed his head in understanding, "Yes, Alpha. I will get everything and everyone ready. The warriors will resume training and I will make sure Beta Connor's weapons are well received," I nodded subtly and pushed my hands into my pockets, "Good. Call the head guard and chief security back in and make preparations with them for the upcoming war." Kade bowed in understanding and summoned the officials. They entered back inside the room and after letting Kade know of the initial plans we had on how to enter Moonblood Pack in secret, I left the room to catch some fresh air and to rest for some time. I was busy with my thoughts and wasn't watching carefully where I was going. I bumped hard into someone and I raised my head, my eyes landed eyes landed on Melody who looked like she was just coming out from the kitchen. I felt a tingle in my heart, the very woman I have been yearning f
Chapter 126Lucian's POV I entered the room where the head guard and the chief security, together with other workers were in, waiting for me. I scanned the room, taking note of Kade's absence."Where's Kade?" I demanded. "We have not seen him, Alpha," the head guard replied and I nodded in understanding. I had summoned them alongside Kade so we could make strategic planning on how to successfully enter the Moonblood pack, but it seems to me that Kade had somewhere better to be. He now has a mission which was more important to him than the pack we built together, so I have stopped worrying about his whereabouts. If being with his so-called mate was all he was interested in, then so be it."Let's begin," I told the men in the room as I took my stance amongst them, “How's the training for the newly recruited warriors going?” “Very well, Alpha” the head guard replied with a smile, “Currently, we have about a hundred and fifty men who are fit to join the pack's army,” I nodded in sati
