His Revenge Pawn

Melody’s POV

The doctor walked into the room where I was waiting, with a smile on his face. I straightened my back in anticipation of whatever news he had for me.

“Congratulations! You are pregnant," he chimed, handing the brown envelope in his hand to me.

A surprised gasp left my lips and I stared at him in shock. "A-Are you sure about that, doctor?"

He bobbed his head, the smile on his face unwavering.

Tears filled my eyes as my lips stretched in a smile. I subconsciously placed my hand on my stomach, imagining the excitement that would appear on Darius's face when I conveyed the news to him.

"Remember to visit the pharmacy downstairs," The doctor's voice interrupted my thoughts. "I've written down some medications in your file. Just show the results to them, they'd know what to do."

"Thank you, doctor.”

He smiled widely. "Enjoy the rest of your day, ma'am," With a final nod, he left the waiting room for his office.

I left for the hospital’s garage after getting the prescribed medications. Immediately I got inside the car, I couldn't help but squeal in excitement.

I couldn't wait to get home. Starting a family with Damon has been my dream since the day I found out that we were mates.

Damon was the alpha of the moon-blood pack and he had taken me into his pack as his slave after he had conquered my pack in a war. I had wailed and gnashed my teeth in anguish at the thought of becoming a slave but little did I know what fate had in store for me.

Being captured turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. He turned out to be my fated mate and now, the moon goddess had blessed me with a pup to start my family, I couldn't be more grateful.

I arrived at the mansion and happily walked into the house, holding the test results firmly.

On not finding Damon in his study or meeting room, I proceeded to his bedroom expecting to find him asleep or in the shower.

I smirked naughtily at the thought of joining him in the bathroom and a chuckle escaped my lips as I walked through the hallway, leading to his room.

Without knocking, I pushed the door open, smiling smugly, but the sight that welcomed me made the smile on my face disappear and my legs became jelly.

My legs gave way and I fell to the floor without stamina. I couldn't believe my eyes and shut them tight, hoping that when I opened them, it would only be a nightmare.

As I forced my eyes open, I was stunned to find that the sight remained.

Cuddling together, butt-naked on the bed where he had made love to me was Damon and - I rubbed my eyes to be sure I wasn't hallucinating - my best friend, Amelia.

Tears clouded my vision as I let out a piercing scream, jolting the sleeping duo awake.

It felt like my lungs weren't getting enough oxygen and I clutched onto my chest, trying to take in air.

Damon’s yes fell on me and on seeing I was the intruder, he let out a lazy groan and sat up on the bed.

"What are you doing here?" He asked in a monotone voice.

I couldn't believe my ears and stared at him in disbelief. "Da..Damon"

"It's Alpha to you, Melody," he cut me off sternly, his cold eyes boring holes into my face. "What are you doing in my room?" He repeated.

I gulped harshly and stood up from the floor, keeping my eyes trained on him and Selene who was pulling the duvet to her chest to cover herself up.

“Why are you in bed with another woman, Damon?” I demanded angrily.

"Excuse you?" Damon countered with raised brows.

I sucked in air, trying to control my anger. “We are mates, Damon. Why do you choose to disrespect me this way?"

Damon stared at me in amusement before letting out a low chuckle as he shook his head from side to side. "I am not surprised, Melody , you've always been delusional."

Anger surged through me at his words but I kept mute.

He ran his fingers through his blonde hair, a smug grin on his features. "Can you listen to yourself? Have I claimed or marked you?"

I furrowed my brows in confusion, what was he driving at?

"Bu-But the moon goddess.."

"The moon goddess made a mistake this time," He interrupted and my jaw dropped in shock. "Why would a wolf with alpha blood like me stoop so low to let myself be mated to a silly, worthless omega slave? I can't possibly have you taint my bloodline. You are just a slave, and the daughter of a whore!"

I gasped in shock at his words, the only person who knew that my mom cheated on my father was Amelia. I couldn't believe she had let out my darkest secret and to the last person I didn't want to find out about it.

Traitor!

I glared at her from the corners of my eyes. Anger surging through me.

Taking in deep breaths, I tried to calm my wrecking nerves. My hands subconsciously went to my belly and tears cascaded down my cheeks.

Damon’s ords had gotten to me, I felt humiliated and annoyed. Would he take back his words if I tell him the news that had brought me to his bedroom in the first place?

I didn't want my child to grow up without a father just as I had grown up without a mother and though his words were like slashes to my heart, I decided to let him know about our child.

I sniffled back my tears. "Damon, w-we are having a baby," I managed to say and watched in shock as he threw his head backward and cackled out loudly.

"You must think I am a fool," he uttered and shook his head in dismay. "I knew you would eventually come up with a scheme like this."

Fresh tears poured out of my eyes and I reached out for his hand but he swatted my arm away.

"This is no scheme, Damon, I'm telling the truth. I'm pregnant for you," I cried.

"Shut up you slut!" He raised his hand to shun me. "One more word and I will put you in your place!"

I clamped my mouth shut, staring at him pleadingly.

"I have been told long before now that I can only father one child by my one true mate."

I bobbed my head frantically. "I am your mate, Damon. You feel the connection too, don't you?" I tried to reason with him.

"I have made my findings and discovered that my one true mate is Amelia and she is already pregnant with my child."

My heart raced in my chest. What was he saying? How was this possible?

My eyes darted towards Selene in shock but she had covered herself up entirely under the duvet.

I directed my gaze back to Damon in confusion. "H-How?"

Ignoring my question, he continued coldly. “I, Alpha Damon of the moon-blood pack reject you as my mate. Just like your whore of a mother, I’m sure you would find someone else to pin that b!stard on.”
