People often preached forgiveness but I would never forgive or forget, not for as long as the moon controlled my nature.

Alaric only sighed as he looked at me. He probably thought I was a lost cause. And he was right to think so.

My eyes fell on Eva where she laid. Of their own volition, my feet took me to her. Her molten red hair fell in perfect curls around the contours of her face with its dainty nose and smooth fawn skin. I mechanically reached to brush away the loose strands of her hair from her lightly freckled cheeks, giving me a clearer view of her rosy lips.

My heart ached. It was torn between hatred and desire.
