Kieran's icy glare froze me in place. His words were like needles piercing my heart.

“Don't expect anything from me. And if you love yourself, you'll stay as far away from me as possible”

With that, he let me go and I fell to the couch speechless and unmoving as he left the house. It felt like a piece of me had broken inside.

I was still sitting alone when Esme came and sat next to me. She pulled me closer to her as she stroked my hair. She didn't say anything, she didn't need to. Her being there was enough for me. I was still upset but I needed her. I couldn't process any emotions properly at that time.

Esme accompanied me to my room and she stayed the night with me. I never really slept. I might have closed my eyes a bit but it wasn't to sleep, rather it was to stop rouge tears from leaving my eyes. I refused to cry over a man that treated me like the plague. I would not be weak.
