31. Chapter Thirty-One.

Salvatore placed our baggage in the trunk of the car while I watched. As the meeting with the royal Vampire committee drew near, time was running out.

Salvatore had an idea. One that might influence the royals to spare my life and leave Prince Salvatore's pack alone, but I knew this was pointless because I sensed that a major conflict was about to break out.

The fact that Prince Salvatore and I had made mistakes along the way was something I was quite aware of. Although it would have been more cheaper than mating with each other, we might have been mates.

I had a strange sense that a conflict with the vampire court was now unavoidable. For both of us, the hope was being carried by Salvatore.

His face lacked of any emotions and whenever I would try to read his mind when he was in deep though, he would immediately block me. I didn't want to seem like an overbearing mate that would not allow him any privacy of his own.
