Callie was up all night, like she had been from the day Ashton's parents had announced their wedding date. She drew the curtains aside, letting the sunlight enter into her dull room. She looked out of the window sadly. The morning sky was clear and bright, hinting the end of winter in Manhattan.
She picked up her laptop and shoved it into her bag, before walking out of her room.
"Honey, breakfast is ready." Callie's mom, Maria announced from the dinning hall while arranging the table.
Callie didn't bother answering her mom and instead, walked to where her car was parked.

Quite surprising to Katherine, Ashton hadn’t received any calls from Callie after the first one and they stayed there without anyone’s interruption.
