Chapter 15_ Dead End

Sabrina went home with light-feathered steps as if she was walking in the sunshine despite the sun rolling down the horizon. She was still convincing herself that seeing the blue-eyed boy who was her ultimate love showed up after years of waiting for him.

However, she stopped and dropped her shoulders at the thought that they were cousins. The thought seemed to bear weight in her shoulder that it slowed her steps down while drawing a lungful of breaths.

She walked into their property while spacing out, not minding the additional garden gnomes in their facade.

“Psst!” A tiny voice tried to get her attention, but she kept walking. “Sabrina!” The voice became shrill, like that of someone getting annoyed because of not being noticed.

The gnome picked up a red pebble from the stone garden and threw it at Sabrina.

“Aw!” Sabrina felt the part of her head that was hit; it was still burning.
