Chapter 22_ Fragments of Memories

Ashanta stood in horror as many of her clan members got dragged out of their houses. Both men and women, along with their teen sons and daughters, were under the nefarious shape-shifters’ long, deadly fangs; their blood dripped and mixed with sticky saliva from their predators. Their body parts bore several holes where the teeth of the wolves sank.

“Didn’t I tell you that you need our protection?” a gust of wind hissed in her ears. “Look at how those werewolves devour and slaughter your clan, showing no mercy.”

Werewolves paid by humans to execute their clan attacked the Supremus Hiwita’s sanctuary on the thirteenth night of the month of November when the moon was in its full form. But the moon didn’t seem to beam at the misery her clan had been put into. The light it cast across the sky flickered like a lit candle whose flame danced with the blowing wind. Gloomy, not bright.
