Chapter 16_ Catch A Bitterfly

Red flag flickered in Amethyst’s head, bringing her back to her senses like she had been poured a bucket of iced water. There was no escape route for her to take, and she could no longer hold her feet. She slammed on the rough ground of the alleyway as fear embraced her.

The drooling big dog appeared to be unsatisfied with its previous meal and was ready to pounce on the next one, which, unfortunately, might be her. It kept on advancing to where Amethyst was, sending her threat at every step. The predator cast the thing in its mouth aside: Amethyst’s eyes widened, seeing that it was indeed a bone—a human arm!

‘Rex, where are you? Please save me.’

Amethyst sobbed, despondently waiting for the animal to jump on and devour her. Low growls synched with her quivering squeamish heart as she closed her eyes, accepting her stupidity had led her to her demise.

‘Mom, I love you. But I hate the fact that me being a witch is useless in this situation
