Everyone in the Biology class was talking about how they built a sanctuary for the caterpillars, but two students didn’t mind the commotion at all.
Amethyst’s eyes were restless. She kept on glancing at the open sliding door of their classroom, hoping to see Nicolai pass by. These past few days her mind had been occupied by the thoughts of him and their hot and cold relationship, though the real score between them was as vague as the murky waters in the fishpond at the back of their school canteen.
Thea, on the other hand, was busy chatting with Gavin, giggling as they exchanged messages.
‘Rei’s neck is like a giraffe's. She’s been checking the door since we arrived.’ Thea sent the message to Gavin. Then her phone pinged, and she gasped at the message she received.
‘Nic is up to something. He bought some flowers and sweets,’ Gavin replied.
‘Do you think he’s going to confess now?’
