Logan’s POV

Her hand presses against my chest, pushing me from her.

“You don’t need to feel sorry for me,” she sighs, turning away from me and moving towards the window.

“The truth hurts doesn’t it?” I had seen how her face had fallen. How her sister had broken her heart in just a few words. My own heart ached for Lana. Being let down by those closest to you was like a punch in the face. I know, I had felt that way when I found out about Seth.

“How would you know? The almighty Alpha. Like anyone is going to fuck with you!”

“Seth was my best friend. I grew up with him. He was practically a brother to me.”

“He betrayed you, how?”

“By doing what he did to you.”

She stops looking out the window, turning back, her eyebrow is raised.

“Why did you care what he did to me?”

That was the problem, why did I care so much?

“Don’t tell me it’s because of this?” She points to the mark on her neck. It still hadn’t faded.

“The mate bond can be messed up.”

“You’re telling me.” She turns back to the win
