Chapter 124 – Longest Time, Bitch

“Longest time, bitch.”

I froze mid-step. Fingers tightened around my bag strap. I didn’t even need to turn. I knew. I knew.

“Are you deaf or something?”

Her tone was sharp, mocking, and entirely familiar. I stiffened and finally turned, jaw tightening.

“Brandy.” I spat the name like venom, eyes narrowing. “What the hell are you doing here?”

She appeared beside me before I could blink, leaning slightly against the courthouse wall, her smirk sharp enough to cut glass. “Oh, you know… just checking in on the world’s most sour Ms. Perkins. Thought I’d see if the divorce gave you some sense of… liberation.”

I crossed my arms, planting my heels like I was a statue carved from rage. “I don’t need your approval.”

Brandy tilted her head, mock innocence plastered across her face. “Approval? Honey, you’ve got that backward. I’m not here for approval. I’m here because curiosity killed the cat… and you’re one hell of a cat to watch.”

I scoffed, rolling my eyes so h

CHAPTER 178 — THE MIRROR ROOMMAYA POVThe lights didn’t come back.Only the glow from the city outside spilled through the blinds, cutting the room into strips of shadow and silver. Liam’s hand was still gripping mine, his pulse wild against my skin.“Stay behind me,” he said.I wanted to answer, but the sound of footsteps froze my voice. They were getting louder. Closer. The rhythm of boots against the floor filled every corner of the house.Aleksander drew his gun. “They’re inside.”Xves moved like a shadow, silent and fast. He didn’t reach for a weapon. He didn’t need one. Then the first door creaked open.A figure stepped into view.It was me.No blood, no bruises, no sign of the fight from before—just a calm version of myself wearing the same dark clothes I had tossed away yesterday. Her eyes gleamed in the dim light.“Hello again,” she said.Liam aimed his gun at her. “Don’t move.”She smiled at him, the same way I used to smile before everything changed. “Still protecting her?

  • I DIVORCED HIM! NOW, HE REGRETS   THE SECOND SHADOW

CHAPTER 177 — THE SECOND SHADOWMAYA POVI didn’t sleep that night.Every sound in the house made me flinch. The clock ticked too loud, the curtains moved when there was no breeze, and the silence between each breath felt heavier than the air itself.Liam sat by the window, his elbows resting on his knees, watching the city lights through the glass. He hadn’t said a word in an hour.Xves stood near the doorway like a guard. Aleksander had left to call in a team to check the building for signs of forced entry, but even that didn’t help.Because deep down, we all knew it wouldn’t matter. You can’t lock out what isn’t human.I sat on the couch, holding a blanket around my shoulders. My hands wouldn’t stop shaking.“She’s not dead,” I whispered.Liam turned, his jaw tight. “Maya—”“She vanished, Liam. She didn’t die.”He pushed a hand through his hair. “There’s got to be an explanation. Maybe some kind of tech—”“There’s no tech that makes a person dissolve into thin air.” My voice cracke

  • I DIVORCED HIM! NOW, HE REGRETS   BROKEN MIRRORS

CHAPTER 176 — BROKEN MIRRORSMAYA POVLiam was the first to move when the door opened. He stepped in front of me with one fast motion, shoulders squared, every muscle wired to strike. Xves reached for my arm at the same time, pulling me slightly behind him. Aleksander raised his gun to eye level, steady, calm, ready. But none of them were prepared for who walked in.My double. She crossed the threshold without hesitation, closing the door behind her like she was returning home. Same face. Same body. Same eyes.Except hers looked empty. Like someone removed every warm piece inside and replaced it with ice.The room went still.Xves spoke first. “You shouldn’t be here.”She ignored him. Her gaze stayed locked on me, examining me the way a thief studies the item they came to steal.“You finally stopped running,” she said. Her voice carried no rush, no fear. “Good. I hate chasing what already belongs to me.”Liam stepped forward. “We’re not doing this. You leave. Now.”“Always the hero,”

CHAPTER 175 – TRUST HURTSMAYA POVXves closed the door behind us.The lock clicked.Liam stood on my right, arms crossed, breathing like he had just run through fire. Aleksander stayed near the window scanning the street below. My knees felt weak but I refused to sit. I didn’t want to look fragile again. Not after what… she said.My other self. The one who claimed she learned faster. The one who said Liam would choose Brandy again. Her voice kept replaying in my head. You begged for scraps of love.Liam moved closer. His body heat brushed mine. His voice dropped. “Maya look at me.”I stared at the floor.“I didn’t choose Brandy over you. Not in this life. Not ever.”Xves didn’t turn around but his voice cut through the room like a knife. “That isn’t true.”Liam spun around. “Stay out of this.”“No.” Xves faced him. “Maya deserves truth.”They were both standing now almost chest to chest. Aleksander stepped between them before fists could fly. He placed a hand on Liam’s chest. “Not no

  • I DIVORCED HIM! NOW, HE REGRETS   THE OTHER ME

CHAPTER 174 – THE OTHER MEMAYA POVDarkness swallowed everything. Not the kind of darkness you get when a light switch clicks off.A suffocating kind. Thick. Heavy. Like someone draped a black sheet over my eyes and pressed it tight.“Liam?” I whispered. No answer. My breath stuttered. “Aleksander?”Silence.Xves?Nothing.My chest tightened. I didn’t dare move. I didn’t know if the floor was still beneath me or if the world had shifted into some nightmare dimension Xves kept warning me about.A soft heel clicked against marble. One step. Then another. Not rushing. Not hiding.Just walking straight toward me.My heart hammered against my ribs. I blinked, hoping my eyes would adjust. A faint glow flickered from the emergency lights down the corridor, and shapes slowly sharpened.Liam stood frozen to my left, jaw clenched, staring forward like his brain was lagging behind reality.Aleksander stood near the entrance, body angled toward us, but he wasn’t moving either.Xves wasn’t beside

  • I DIVORCED HIM! NOW, HE REGRETS   THE MIRROR VERSION

CHAPTER 173 – THE MIRROR VERSIONMAYA POVXves didn’t blink. He just stood there staring at the phone screen like the ground itself had just confessed a murder.“That’s not me,” I repeated, my voice barely a whisper.Liam’s grip tightened around his phone. His jaw clenched so hard I could see a vein pulse in his neck. He wasn’t speaking, but his silence was louder than any accusation.Aleksander looked between us, struggling to process everything. “Maybe… maybe it’s a deepfake? People do that now. They edit faces into videos.”“That footage isn’t edited,” Xves said, his tone too calm. Too certain. “It’s real.”I spun toward him, anger slicing through my fear. “You just said it wasn’t me.”“It wasn’t the you standing here,” he replied.“The hell is that supposed to mean?” Liam snapped at him.Xves stepped closer — not threatening, just steady, like someone preparing to catch a person about to fall.“There are two of her,” he said.Aleksander laughed once — short and humorless. “Wow. Ok
