Chapter 27: The necklace

We decided to head back to Māhia. We booked into a hotel online near a shopping centre. There were only 2 available rooms. So we had to share. Tay was told to share a room with me since he was the lightest sleeper. They were always worried something would happen during the night. It kind of annoyed me. I wasn't some damsel in distress. Every day I seemed to grow a bit stronger. I wanted to get back to my daily exercises and training.

I hated myself for not being able to walk on my own, but Tay's help made it a whole lot easier. That's why I shut up and politely accepted. This weird exciting feeling crept into me when he was assigned as my roommate. I don't know how or why but whenever he touched me my skin felt like it was on fire. He had so much warmth radiating off of his body. I felt happy when he smiled at me or we just had a conversation.

I think I like him. Yes, I believe I like the male version of myself. Was that weird?
