Epilogue
Ink
Present day
When he was 10 years old, Rider asked us why his surname was different to ours. When we completed the adoption process, we could legally change his name to ours. Instead, we decided to call him Rider Kennedy-Andrews, using Tilly’s last name. We sat him down and told him that we had adopted him, and Tina told him all about Tilly. She told him that Tilly had died a few days after he had been born.
He took the news well, saying he had always known he wasn’t Tina’s son as Tina was mixed race and he was white.
He asked about his father, we had no answers for him. We decided to wait for another few years to tell him what had happened to Tilly and how he was conceived, but he was far too young to understand rape.
We found out he had been using his connections with the club to look for his birth father when he was 17, so we decided to tell him then.
I had been
Chapter 1Rider“I know son, I get it, but there is something you need to know first…”I was sitting in my dad’s office waiting to hear what he had to tell me.My dad is the president of the Titan Kings Motorcycle club, he had just called me into his office after he had found out I had been looking into my birth father. I had been adopted by Ink and Tina when I was 7 months old after my birth mother died. For the last few years, I had been looking into finding my father.“Sit down, son. You’re not going to like what I’m going to tell you, but I need you to try and keep calm, ok?”I nodded and pulled up the chair in his office.“This is really hard to tell you. We decided we were never going to tell you, and we hoped that you would never be interested in finding your father.” He paused to compose himself, searching for the words to start what
Chapter 2RiderI drove for around 200 miles. I arrived back at the compound about 3 hours later. I didn’t drive with any kind of purpose, I just needed to get out and drive. When I arrived back inside the compound, my dad was waiting for me. “Prez.” I greeted. It sounds odd, calling him Prez in front of people. But too many people asked questions when I called him dad and I hated it. I don’t talk a lot and I hated people knowing my business. I’m a private person.“How are you feeling now?” he asked, as we headed into his office and he closed the door.“I’m fine.” I lied.He raised his eyebrow, frowning at my blatant lie.“Did you kill anyone?” he asked, usually, this would sound like a stupid question- it wasn’t for me.I shook my head.“Good. Let’s keep it that way for now, yeah?” I nodded m
Chapter 3RiderThe first name on the list, a Cal Tierney, lived up in Virginia. We decided it would be easier to drive in the truck, as it would only take around 2 and a half hours. We pulled up in a rundown area. In a street of about 16 houses, every single one looked tired. Overgrown lawns were visible through broken fence posts. Missing paving slabs on pathways leading to houses that where in need of help. Not for the first time, I silently gave thanks to my adopted parents who chose to raise me and keep me safe, loved and protected. We pulled up at the house where we had found Cal. This house looked exactly like the rest on the street, rundown. My dad got out and I followed him to the door, where he knocked, and we waited. We heard the shuffling inside, alerting us that he was on his way. “Yeah?” he said, when he opened the door.“Cal Tierney?” My dad asked.“Yeah, who want
Chapter 4RiderWe decided to follow Martin’s list. On the drive back to the clubhouse, we decided to get the other brothers involved. We would split off in two’s, and each go to the house. This had to be the men who had raped the women. My dad called Creek and told him the new plan, he said he would start gathering up the brothers and making sure they ready for us when we arrived. We got back to the clubhouse well after midnight and decided to stay there to get some rest. My dad called church the next day so we could discuss the plan.“We need these men picking up in connection to something that happened years ago. I’m going to put you in pairs, and you will take one of the trucks, and drive to the men. As soon as you find him, you need to take a picture of him and send it to my wife. She will then let you know yes or no, if it is yes, then you grab him and bring him back here. If he struggles, do
Chapter 5RiderI was driving on my bike with my father’s address in my mind. My cell kept ringing, I assumed it was my dad, trying to get me to come back home.I was about 40 minutes into the drive when I had an odd feeling in my gut telling me to pull over. I found a safe place to pull over and signalled, letting the car behind me know what my plan was. It was dark now, I looked at my cell to see what time it was, 9:15. I noticed 6 missed calls from my dad and a voicemail. I clicked ‘call’ and called him back.“Rider, where the fuck are you?” he yelled down the phone.“On my way to see him.” I answered. He let out a long sigh. “For fucks sake son, you shouldn’t have gone alone. I need to be there.” He told me.“I’ll be there soon, so I’m not turning around now.” I argued.“I understand. Be careful and ca
Chapter 6Bonnie“Rider.” The man greeted. Rider nodded once. Not a big talker then. It suddenly dawned on me that I had been on a job when I crashed.“Shit!” I exclaimed, as the older man walked in my room. “What time is it?” I asked, Rider shrugged and looked toward the man. He sighed and looked at his cell. “almost 7am.” He told me. “Fuck!” I yelled and tried to hop out of bed.“What the hell are you doing?” Rider asked me, his voice concerned but with a hint of annoyance, as he stopped me from getting up.“I’m on a job, I need to get to Wilmington by 9am.” I told them, panicking.“Sweetheart,” the man started as he walked over to the bed, “from what I hear about your injuries, you ain’t going anywhere yet.” He tried to use the softest tone he could, worried I might start being hysterica
Chapter 7RiderI gotta admit, that was entertaining as hell watching that little girl standing up to my dad. Strangely enough, I felt proud of her. My dad was acting like a bit of a dick, he was definitely not showing her the respect that he would normally show bikers from other clubs. I was about to tell him so when her attitude kicked in and she defended herself, ripping him a new one with her tongue.I glanced over at my dad to see his reaction. To anyone else, he looked angry, like he was going to explode, but I also saw the hint of respect in his eyes, the pride of her standing up for herself.I smirked again, reliving the memory, as I stepped outside her room.“I called her Prez.” He started.“I wanted to know about her seeing as she’s going to be staying with us for a while.” He added.“Did you find anything out?” I asked.“Her name is Sky
Chapter 8Bonnie“What took you so long?” I asked him, as he walked through the door an hour later.“Had to go to the store.” He explained, holding up the bags for proof.“What did the nurses say?” I eyed the bags suspiciously.“Doc won’t be here till tomorrow, so I went and bought you some shit.” He told me, handing the two stuffed bags over to me, carefully avoiding my leg.I quickly looked through the bag of toiletries. “Thanks Rider.” I said, trying to be genuine. He nodded.I looked through the next bag, “you bought me panties?” I asked, I struggled to keep the smirk off my face.He blushed. “Yeah, you needed them.”I was touched, not that I would ever tell him that though. I wasn’t expecting this.“Thank you, Rider, I mean it.” I smiled.“What&rsquo
