34: The face behind the mask

Emily hated this.

There existed a video that ensured, if seen by her aunt, her head would be the first thing offered as a peace offering. She couldn't even let herself imagine how Isabelle would look at her, should the video come to light.

Jessica's threat had been totally clear: either she cooperated or her adventure would be the next notification her aunt would receive on her Facebook account.

At this point, Emily wished her aunt wasn't the type that kept up with her social media accounts. But that wish was a waste of time, because even on Sunday, after church, Aunt Jane had taken a couple of pictures of Emily and her cousins and also of them together, and had posted them on Facebook.

Emily's shoulder collided into someone's, snapping her out of her thoughts. A face materialized before her and she recognised him to be Isaac.<
