Chapter 40: Winning the Bet

All eyes were watching Michelle, waiting for her to admit defeat and be humiliated.

Michelle lowered her head and said with gritted teeth. "...I am...sorry."

She doesn't sound sorry at all. She sounds like a beast uttering a growl.

My co-department was not satisfied. "Is that even an apology? You don't look apologetic or sincere at all! It seemed like you are cursing her!"

I thought too as well.

Michelle glared at me, "I said I am sorry. I am taking back my words. I am wrong and you are right, happy?"

It sounded like she was going to shred me into pieces if I said no.

Unfortunately for her, that wasn't what I wanted to hear. "You forgot something to include in your apology."

Michelle knew what it was. "I am taking back my words that you are an old lady."

Oh? She said it in one breath.

"But don't think this is going to end! Today, you made me lose face. I will make sure to pay you back the same humiliation you caused me. I will be watching you!" She then left in big strides.
