"Good morning dear" Joan's neighbour greeted her as she walked past her house. "Good morning Mrs Wilson." Joan greeted her back with a smile and the woman nodded as Joan passed by. "I know Alex would like her. She is just I should call him to come home. so he can meet her" Patry muttered to herself with a smile on her face. she had been delighted when she saw Joan moving in almost a month back. The house house had been empty for almost ten years and she always wondered if it would always be that way. But a fine young lady moved in and now she wanted her grandson to meet her...
The town was just on the outskirts of the city. it wasn't populated at all and only a few houses were around the area. she had lived here for more than thirty years after retiring and loved it ever since. it was peaceful down here. "Where are you, Alex? it's been a few hours already. When are you going to get here" Patty complained over the phone... _____________ _______________ Joan pushed open her front door and sighed. there wasn't much to do around here. She looked up at a picture of her and her parents still hung up on the wall in the hallway of the house... A sad smile appeared on her face. The house had once belonged to her grandmother but when she had passed it belonged to her father and now her, but she had chosen not to live there because of the memories the house held. They had stayed here for a while after what happened with Alice's parents and that was one of the most memorable times of her life.... Though it was short the last moment with her parents was happy. She walked away from the hallway down to the kitchen looking for anything that would keep her busy and her mind occupied so she wouldn't think about Liam, but even after she ate breakfast, did her laundry. cleaned the house, watered the plants nothing seemed to be working. Her mind was completely occupied with him. "why can't I get him off my mind" She groaned and poured herself a glass of water. was this how she was going to live for the rest of her life? it had been over a month and she still wasn't over him... She felt like screaming, but she knew even that wouldn't work so why try... A knock on her door caught her attention and she sighed. She walked to the door and opened it to find a handsome man standing on her front porch. who was he? She had never seen him before around here. Joan looked at him confused and curious when he wouldn't say anything and only just continued to stare at her like she had something on her face. Did she have something on her face? "How may I help you" She asked him and he seemed to finally regain his senses. "hi....hi...I'm well...patty...I'm Alex" He stuttered and stretched out his hand for a handshake. Joan didn't accept the handshake at first but she did after a few seconds and repeated her question. "How may I help you?". "I'm Mr Wilson's grandson. She asked me to give you this" He explained and stretched forth the plate of freshly baked cookies in his hand. Joan nodded and accepted the plate of cookies. "Thank you. please let her know that I'm grateful" She said and smiled and Alex could have sworn that his heart stopped for a second. her smile was so...breathtaking. Joan stood staring at this strange man who was still standing on her front porch. Did he have anything else to say to her, why wasn't he leaving so she could her back to her sad day. "is there something else" She asked and he shook his head. "nice meeting you ?" He said implying that he wanted to know her name, even though his grandmother had told him already. He was glad his grandmother had pestered him till she agreed to give her the cookies. "I'm Joan" Joan answered and he nodded and finally turned to leave. After he was gone Joan sighed and went back to her house. She ran her hand through her hair as she dropped the plate of cookies on the kitchen counter. she wondered what all that was about. Mrs Wilson had been nice to her since she came here. she picked one of the cookies and took a bite from it and her eyes grew wide. "wow!" Joan exclaimed. it was more delicious than she had imagined... She picked up another cookie and then another one and soon she had eaten it all. She would have to ask Mrs Wilson for her recipe. Thirty minutes later Joan was standing at Mrs Wilson's front door with the empty plate in her hands. Patty was the one who answered the door. "Thank you for the cookies ma'am, they were really tasty" Joan said and Patty had the warmest smile on her face. "Don't worry dear I won't hesitate to bring some for you anything I make them again. would you like to come in" Patty offered but Joan declined politely. she wasn't happy about it but she respected her decision. Joan walked back to her house and headed straight to her room... she lay on her bed staring at the ceiling hoping sleep would come but it didn't. Her mind kept reverting to him. She wondered if Hazel had been executed already. She wondered how everyone was. She finally fell asleep but only after a few hours had passed. ______________ _______________ Joan couldn't believe what she was hearing from Johnathan. it felt like the world was spinning around her and she was dreaming. how could this be? "We will be there first thing tomorrow" Alice assured and she nodded. She was going to see Liam again. The man who had been occupying her mind but not under good circumstances but a bad one... She ran her hand through her hair and sighed deeply. when was all this finally going to be over...Liam sat in silence as the car drove further and further to his mate his. His wolf was beyond delighted that they were finally going to be reunited again and was on edge, but Liam was able to keep his wolf in check and stay relaxed. He had this feeling also. Fear? was that it? Fear of seeing her again? Fear that he was going to hurt her like he did before? He would never forget the way she had looked at him the day she had left the Palace. There was pain in her eyes and he could also see it...how much he cared for him, but he was too big of a fool to stop her ans instead had to let her go only to leave in regret for the past few months. He had not been himself since she left and felt like it was the shell of his real self. He had not been himself for centuries, but with her, it was far worse. Spending just a few months away from her was far more torturous than the last centuries he has spent. He had tried his best to convince himself that it was just the mate bond between them, but he
Joan let out a deep breath when's he heard a knock on her door. They were here, and he…he was here too. Her hand traveled to the doorknob but stopped midair and she let out another deep breath, why was she so nevrous, she needed to act cool so he wouldn't notice how affected she had been the last few months. She closed her eyes and reopened them and then opened the door and the first person she layed her eyes on were Alice and her big baby bump, the warmest smile immediately appeared on her and Alice drew her into a hug without wasting a single second. She had missed Alice so much and was genuinely happy to see her. Alice broke the hug, and Lilac also hugged her, followed by Johnathan. Diana finally got out of the car and simply smiled warmly at her. She was glad to see the troublesome witch also. After she was done with the greeting with everyone, her eyes searched earnestly for someone, but she couldn't bring herself to ask about him. Devon sighed in frustration when he realised Li
What!” Liam exclaimed when he heard Joan's words. “What do you mean you want to stay here? Didn't you hear what Diana just said to you” He added, confusion etched on his face. “I don't think she will try anything now, with her powers gone and all and most people are unaware of this place” Joan tried to give the perfect excuse but it sounded so stupid even in her ears. “And I've been learning how to use my powers the past month so I can protect myself now” She added, followed by a nervous laugh. Diana shook her head and couldn't hold her tongue anymore. “Are you doing this because of him? You don't want to go back because of him. Are you kidding me right now!” The witch snapped and rolled her eyes. Joan couldn't believe this witch, How could she say something like that in front of everyone! “It isn't because of him!” Joan spat out and immediately regretted it when she saw the look on Liam's face. Even his ears were red. “I don't care about your lover's Quarell right now. You are c
"What!" Joan exclaimed with her eyes now wide in surprise because of what he said. "I see no problem in me staying here. to keep you safe, " He said. Joan let out a deep sigh. when she had left the Palace that day, if he had been this outspoken and not just watched her leave, maybe she would have stayed behind with him. Thinking about it made Joan a little upset and a deep frown now settled on her face. "I can make whatever decision I choose. You can't stay here, " She said firmly with finality in her tone..."Then are you coming with us?" He asked. "I was supposed to be thinking about that when you came in here to interrupt my thoughts," she retorted, and silence reigned between them after. Liam could only stare at her with regret in his heart. He wanted to tell her he was sorry and that he missed her and he wanted to hug her and feel her warmth. He wanted to tell her that she was his queen. and that he wanted to be with her at every second and every minute. That he wanted to mark h
"Jonathan, Johnathan!" Johnathan started to hear a familiar voice call out his name from a distance, and slowly, everything started to fade out. He gasped as he was transported with a force back to reality where everyone was. Lilac held his arm with extreme worry written all over her face as she stared at him. Diana, Alice, and Devon with Liam too looked really worried. It took him more than a minute to finally calm down and realised that he was back to reality, and what he had seen was just a vision of the future. "What did you see?" Diana asked it seemed that everyone also had the same question. Johnathan was about to say something when Joan came into the room with confusion etched on her face. She had heard Lilac voice from way upstairs and had to be leaving what she was packing to check what was going. "What is going on?" She asked, but everyone attention was still on Johnathan waiting for him to say something. He swallowed as his chest heaved. "Can I get a glass of water?" He as
Joan woke up earlier than everyone, and the sun was barely up in the sky when she made herself a cup of hot coffee and walked to the back of the house. There was a chair she loved to , on, and this had become like a morning ritual to her since she returned back here. The last months of her life were something she wouldn't have imagined. if someone told her a year ago that she had powers and was among the children of the prophecy who were supposed to stop the dark witches and also the mate of a lycan king she was would thought the person was completely insane. But it really happened, and she witnessed it all. Joan Howard took a sip out of her morning coffee and sighed deeply as she was trying to come into a grasp of the situation at hand. The lycan king that she was mated to had an ex who turned out to be the leader of the dark witches that she was meant to stop with the other children of the prophecy. They had finally managed to stop her, but she had escaped, and now they had no i
Saphira walked into Supreme Alpha Devon's pack with Ash following behind her. Max and darius had strongly declined following them and thought it was a completely bad idea to go there after what had happened with Hazel. "What if they become suspicious of you and think you planned the whole thing with your sister. Are you crazy! how can you suggest we go back there, Saphira?" Darius had said trying to stop them, but saphira was adamant on going, and Ash was ready to follow her. He had nothing to worry about since he had no idea of what Hazel was going to do at that time. He couldn't even imagine she would go that far. He remembered when he went to visit her, and they had an argument because he thought she was too forgiving and wasn't getting her revenge against the Donovans. He had no idea she had been planning her revenge the whole time. It all made him feel like he didn't know her anymore. It felt like she was a completely different person and not his sister, whom he grew up with. It
It was finally time for everyone to return to the city, well, except Liam. Joan, who has agreed to let him stay, wasn't too keen on the idea of being left alone with him now. "I will ask someone to send your things," Devon said to his brother, who nodded as they walked out of the house to where the cars were packed. His eyes soon fell on a woman who was sitting on her front porch staring at them from afar, but he could see her. She looked curious. nosy neighbours. he wished Joan, who just stopped being stubborn, followed him back to the palace. But he didn't want to force her. This whole arrangement made him nervous. He could see that it also made her nervous. Alice was trying to hold back a smile. She was really satisfied with this arrangement. maybe finally they could be together and her friend would be happy. She just hoped Liam didn't hurt her or he would be getting an earful from her.She walked towards Joan and gave her a warm hug, and Joan hugged her back, wishing they would a
